You can stream recorded diploma-course lessons continuously on YouTube Live by sending a lesson playlist from an encoder to YouTube Studio using the stream’s server URL and stream key. The encoder can run on a computer, dedicated hardware, or a cloud service. Before starting, make sure the channel is eligible, you have rights to every part of the lessons, and you have a plan for monitoring the stream and handling YouTube’s 12-hour archive limit. How do I stream recorded videos on YouTube Live 24/7?
Choose what will play the recordings and keep sending video to YouTube. What do I need to stream recorded lessons continuously?
- A YouTube channel that is verified and has no live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days. YouTube’s current live-stream help documentation, accessed in 2026, states that the minimum age to live stream is 16.
- Live streaming enabled before your planned start. First-time activation may take up to 24 hours, according to YouTube’s current encoder setup help documentation accessed in 2026.
- Recorded lesson files or a playlist, and an encoder or cloud service capable of sending them to YouTube.
- A stable internet connection with sufficient upload bandwidth. YouTube recommends leaving 20% upload-bandwidth headroom in its current streaming tips documentation accessed in 2026.
- Permission to stream the lesson material, including its audio, images, and any embedded third-party content.
- A monitoring plan and, if retaining a complete 24-hour recording matters, a separate recording or archive plan.
Prepare and enable the YouTube channel
- Verify the channel. Check YouTube’s current live-stream eligibility guidance and complete the verification process if needed. Confirm there is no live-stream restriction in the preceding 90 days.
- Enable live streaming ahead of time. Follow YouTube’s live-stream setup flow while signed in to the channel that will host the lessons. Do not wait until the intended broadcast time: initial activation can take up to 24 hours.
- Review the channel and lesson rights. Confirm that the channel is permitted to live stream and that the files and embedded material are cleared for both the live broadcast and any resulting archive.
Create the live stream and connect the encoder
- Open YouTube Studio and create a stream. Choose the live-stream creation flow and set the stream details that viewers will see, such as the lesson-series title and description.
- Copy the server URL and stream key from YouTube Studio. Enter both in the encoder’s YouTube destination settings. YouTube describes the stream key as the credential/address that tells the encoder where to send the feed. Treat it like a password: do not publish it, share it in a lesson, or expose it in a screenshot.
- Load the lesson recording or playlist. Arrange the files in the order students should see them, and confirm that the encoder or cloud tool is set to repeat the playlist if you want it to continue cycling.
- Start the encoder and inspect YouTube’s Live Control Room preview. Check that the image, audio, and lesson order look right before making the stream public or starting the scheduled broadcast.
- Monitor the live output. Watch the stream health and listen to the audio after it starts. Keep an eye on the connection and the actual viewer-facing output, not only the encoder’s local status.
YouTube’s general encoder guide does not prescribe a universal bitrate, resolution, or keyframe setting for every recording and encoder. Use settings supported by your source files, encoder, and connection; follow the encoder’s current YouTube-compatible recommendations, and test the preview before relying on a long run.

Can I loop my recorded classes on YouTube?
Yes. An encoder or cloud looping service can send prerecorded lessons as a live feed and repeat a playlist. The loop itself does not make a lesson original or establish that you have the rights to broadcast it. Review each recording, including music, slides, photos, video clips, and material embedded from other sources.
YouTube states: “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” A match can interrupt the stream. Even if you have a license, the rights holder may need to allowlist your channel so YouTube does not interrupt a stream containing that licensed content. Keep documentation of permissions and check any license conditions that apply to live use and archiving.

Will YouTube save a 24-hour live stream?
Do not rely on a single 24-hour YouTube Live broadcast being saved in full. YouTube’s current encoder setup help documentation, accessed in 2026, says: “All streams under 12 hours will be automatically archived.” That statement covers streams shorter than 12 hours; it does not guarantee an archive of a full 24-hour stream or explain every case for longer broadcasts.

A stream break can create multiple live sessions rather than one uninterrupted broadcast, so decide whether uninterrupted viewing or dependable saved segments matters more for your course.

Keep the stream running and diagnose common problems
Prevent avoidable interruptions
- Use a reliable network connection and leave the 20% upload-bandwidth headroom recommended by YouTube’s current streaming tips documentation, accessed in 2026.
- Monitor the Live Control Room preview, stream health, and audio/video output during operation.
- For a local encoder, prevent the host computer from sleeping or restarting unexpectedly, and keep the encoder and network equipment powered.
- For a cloud service, check what happens if YouTube disconnects the feed, the playlist ends, or your service account needs attention; recovery functions are provider-specific.
- Check the YouTube stream after any planned change to files, playlist order, destination settings, or network.

Understand monetization before using a continuous loop
YouTube’s channel monetization policies apply to live streams. Its inauthentic-content policy can make repetitive or mass-produced content ineligible for monetization, so replaying lessons continuously does not guarantee revenue or monetization approval. A channel’s eligibility and policy review depend on the content and applicable YouTube rules; do not treat watch time from a loop as promised income.
YouTube’s livestream terms state that the provider represents and warrants having the necessary rights for live content worldwide, including music licensing rights.
