To stream a prerecorded commercial property tour continuously on YouTube Live, send the video to YouTube through an encoder such as OBS or a cloud playout service; uploading the file to YouTube alone does not make it a live broadcast. In OBS, add a Media Source and enable Loop for one tour, or use a VLC Video Source with Loop Playlist for several. The computer and internet connection must remain available for local playback. For Indian property owners, brokers, and marketing teams, confirm footage and audio rights before starting, and plan carefully if a complete replay matters: YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived, but does not promise a complete archive for longer sessions.
How do I stream a prerecorded video on YouTube Live?
YouTube Live receives a live video feed from an encoder. It does not turn a normal uploaded video or playlist into a live broadcast by itself. You can generate the feed locally with OBS, send it from dedicated hardware, or use a cloud playout service. YouTube Studio supplies the stream URL and stream key that connect the encoder to your channel.
1. Confirm channel access and permissions
- Make sure live streaming is enabled for your YouTube channel. YouTube says first-time enablement may take up to 24 hours, so do this well before the planned launch.
- Use footage and audio for which you have the necessary rights. YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions require the provider to have necessary rights for the live content, including music rights, and to comply with applicable laws.
- For a commercial property, obtain the property or client authorization you need, and consider permissions for identifiable occupants, staff, signage, and other recorded material. The sources cited here do not determine the specific Indian legal requirements for a particular property or recording.
2. Create an encoder stream in YouTube Studio
- Open YouTube Studio and create or schedule a live stream using an encoder. Review the event details and visibility setting before you start.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for the event into your encoder. Treat the key like a password: anyone who has it may be able to send a feed to your channel.
- Start the encoder and check the event preview in Live Control Room before making the stream public. YouTube recommends preparing in advance, checking the preview, verifying the event on channel/watch pages and mobile, and monitoring picture and sound.
- Consider a private or unlisted test to catch framing, audio, and looping mistakes before the public broadcast.
3. Add the tour video in OBS
- In OBS, add a Media Source and select the local tour file. Enable the source’s Loop option to replay that file after playback completes. OBS describes this property as specifying whether the file plays again after playback has completed.
- For a sequence of tours, add a VLC Video Source, load a playlist, and enable Loop Playlist. VLC must be installed for the VLC source to appear in OBS.
- Set up the scene so the tour fills the canvas as intended. Check that any labels or contact details remain legible and are not hidden by YouTube’s player controls.
- In OBS streaming settings, enter YouTube’s stream URL and key. Use the current YouTube Live Control Room health messages and encoder guidance to choose ingest settings; avoid copying a bitrate or resolution setting without regard to the source and available upload bandwidth.
- Start streaming from OBS, wait for the preview, and then start the scheduled event in YouTube Studio if the event requires that separate action.
4. Test the feed and protect the connection
YouTube recommends leaving 20% upload-bandwidth headroom. This is a margin recommendation, not a guarantee that a connection will sustain a stream. Test the actual upload connection at the location and plan who will monitor the feed and respond to a failure. If the encoder reports an incorrect format, YouTube’s error guidance identifies H.264 video and AAC audio as required ingest formats. Follow the current encoder and Live Control Room messages for the resolution and settings in use.
How do I loop a video on YouTube Live?
Looping is controlled by the encoder or playout service, not by a setting on the ordinary YouTube upload page. For one local video in OBS, use Media Source and enable Loop. For multiple clips, use VLC Video Source, load the playlist, and enable Loop Playlist. Confirm that playback returns to the first frame cleanly and that audio does not cut out or overlap at the transition.

A continuous property feed is more useful when it provides context rather than repeating footage without explanation. Use accurate property labels, location, current availability status, and a clear way for viewers to ask for details. Update or remove a tour when the property or its availability changes.
Can I run a 24/7 YouTube livestream from OBS?
Yes, OBS can loop a file or playlist for a long-running stream, but the local setup depends on the computer, source files, OBS, power, and internet connection staying available. A crash, restart, power interruption, or network disruption can stop or degrade the feed. YouTube advises monitoring the stream and warns that network disruption can break it; no approach described here guarantees uninterrupted service.

Choose according to existing equipment, how much monitoring you can provide, whether you need several videos scheduled, and how important a complete replay is. A local computer avoids a separate cloud-service charge but needs to remain operational. Cloud playout removes that local-computer dependency. Dedicated hardware is an option for a purpose-built installation.

YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That guidance does not promise a complete replay for a stream lasting 12 hours or longer, so do not rely on a day-long continuous event as the only copy of a tour. If viewers need a full replay or you need a daily record, schedule shorter sessions or separately record and upload the source footage.

Copyright, rights, and monetization for property-tour streams
Clear the footage, music, and recorded material
YouTube scans live streams for third-party copyrighted content. A stream can be interrupted or terminated when a match is detected. Even if you have a license, the rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist for the licensed material to avoid a live interruption. Clear rights for the tour footage, soundtrack, and other material before broadcast; do not assume that buying or receiving a license alone prevents a Content ID interruption.
Do not treat looping as an earnings shortcut
YouTube’s monetization policies apply to livestreams and expect original, authentic content rather than mass-produced, generic, repetitive, or manipulative material. A commercial property tour may be legitimate promotional content, but a repetitive loop is not guaranteed to qualify for monetization. Eligibility, review, ad delivery, rights, and audience response are separate matters; no earnings or performance uplift is established for a 24/7 property-tour feed.
