You can keep a prerecorded Christian prayer meeting live on YouTube by looping the video in an encoder such as OBS Studio and sending that feed to YouTube Live. The loop runs on the computer hosting OBS, so it must stay powered on and connected; for a cloud option, StreamNeo can loop uploaded recordings without a home computer running. Before broadcasting, confirm your channel can livestream, secure rights to everything in the recording, test the stream, and plan separately for an archive: YouTube says a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured.

Check channel eligibility and prepare the recording
Confirm livestream access
YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the past 90 days. A person livestreaming must be at least 16 years old. Check the channel’s access in YouTube Studio before scheduling the broadcast; eligibility conditions and interfaces can change. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
Check every element in the recording
Make sure the church, ministry, or publisher has the rights needed to transmit and archive the recording. This includes the meeting audio and video, music and hymns, prayers, performers, and any third-party video embedded in the program. If any material is licensed rather than wholly owned, get written permission that expressly covers YouTube live transmission, repeated playback, the relevant territory, performers, music, and archiving.

YouTube’s live terms make the provider responsible for necessary worldwide rights, music licensing rights, applicable laws, and regulatory requirements where the stream is distributed. The sources available here do not establish which Indian broadcast or other regulatory approvals apply to a particular church or ministry. Set up a single recording or playlist in OBS
Loop one recording with Media Source
- Install and open OBS Studio on the computer that will run the broadcast. Create a scene for the prayer meeting.
- In the scene’s Sources panel, select + and add Media Source. Choose the local recording file.
- Enable Loop in the Media Source properties, then confirm the source appears and plays in the preview.
- Check the audio meters while the video plays. Make sure the recording’s sound is audible and not clipping, muted, or routed to the wrong output.
Loop several recordings with VLC Video
- Install VLC, which the OBS VLC Video source requires.
- In OBS, add a VLC Video Source to the scene and add the recordings in the order you want them to play.
- Enable Loop Playlist. Preview the source and verify that the playlist advances and returns to the beginning as intended.

Connect OBS to YouTube Live and go on air
- Open YouTube Studio and create or schedule an encoder live stream. In Live Control Room, copy the stream URL and stream key.
- In OBS, open Settings > Stream, choose YouTube as the service, and enter the stream URL and key in the appropriate fields. Use RTMPS where offered by the YouTube connection settings.
- Treat the stream key like a password. Do not share it publicly; reset it in YouTube Studio if it may have been exposed.
- Start streaming from OBS. Return to Live Control Room and wait for the incoming preview. Check that both picture and sound are correct and review stream health before making the event public or starting the scheduled broadcast.
- Monitor the stream after going live. When ending a scheduled session, stop the stream deliberately in the encoder and follow the event controls in Live Control Room.
YouTube recommends testing and monitoring the encoder connection, using a stable upload bitrate, and checking the stream preview and accessibility. Choose resolution, frame rate, and bitrate to match the recording and a connection that can sustain the upload; there is no one bitrate that fits every source and connection. Consult YouTube’s current encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions rather than treating an old preset as universal. YouTube’s live-streaming tips also cover previewing and monitoring.
Plan the archive separately from the live feed
A continuous live endpoint does not guarantee one complete replay file. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, while a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. YouTube also warns that DVR may be limited or unavailable for streams longer than 12 hours. If keeping the full program matters, make a local recording and test an archive workflow rather than relying on YouTube’s replay or DVR for an around-the-clock broadcast.

Shorter broadcast sessions are safer when a complete YouTube auto-archive is important, but the cited guidance does not establish a supported seamless daily auto-restart method. Decide whether uninterrupted availability or a dependable individual replay is the priority, and plan the schedule and local copy accordingly. Keep copyright and monetization decisions distinct
Copyright can interrupt a technically correct stream
YouTube scans live feeds for third-party copyrighted content. A match can replace the picture with a placeholder or interrupt or terminate the stream. Even when a rights holder has licensed the material, the channel may need to be added to that owner’s Content ID allowlist to avoid an interruption. Resolve permissions and any required allowlisting before relying on a recording for continuous playback. See YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams.

Monetization is conditional, not automatic
Eligible YouTube Partner Program channels may have live ads, Super Chat, Super Stickers, and memberships available, but access and earnings are not guaranteed; ad delivery depends on YouTube’s systems and other factors. Separately, YouTube’s July 15, 2025 policy update renamed “repetitious content” to “inauthentic content” and clarified that repetitive or mass-produced material is ineligible for monetization. A repeated prayer-meeting recording is not automatically disqualified or automatically eligible: the channel is reviewed in context. Publish distinctive, original ministry content and review current channel monetization policies before basing a revenue plan on repeated playback. - YouTube receives no signal: Confirm OBS is streaming, and check that the stream URL and key match the event in Live Control Room. If the key may be compromised or incorrect, reset or copy the current key and update OBS.
- The preview is black or the file does not play: Check the selected file path and Media Source properties. Confirm the file plays locally, then restart playback or reload the source.
- A playlist will not play or loop: Confirm VLC is installed, the VLC Video source has the intended files, and Loop Playlist is enabled.
- Video works but there is no sound: Watch OBS’s audio meters while playback runs. Check the source’s audio routing, mute state, and the recording itself before going live.
- The stream health is poor or playback stutters: Test upload speed and reduce the encoder’s resolution, frame rate, or bitrate to a level the connection can sustain. Then recheck the preview and stream health.
- The live feed is interrupted after copyrighted material appears: Review the recording for third-party material, confirm the applicable permissions, and ask the rights holder about Content ID allowlisting where appropriate.
- The live stream is available but its replay is incomplete or missing: For a stream longer than 12 hours, YouTube may not capture it; use a local recording and a separately tested archive plan.
