Streamlabs Mobile is documented for live phone-camera and screen broadcasts; its official guides do not document looping a prerecorded video file unattended 24/7. If you want an existing video to play continuously on YouTube, use a computer encoder or a cloud service that explicitly supports file playback and looping. Streamlabs Mobile may suit a live phone feed, but it is not a verified prerecorded-video loop workflow.
First, distinguish a prerecorded file from a phone screen broadcast
A prerecorded video file is a saved recording you want an encoder to play repeatedly. A phone screen broadcast sends what is currently displayed on the phone; it is a live screen feed, not the same thing as loading a file into a looping playlist.
Streamlabs’ phone-streaming instructions describe choosing the phone camera or screen sharing, then configuring mobile scenes and stream settings. They do not document a supported local-file source with unattended looping. YouTube describes encoder-based streaming for advanced productions and lists software and hardware encoders. Its encoder setup uses a YouTube stream URL and stream key. The exact controls for selecting a file and enabling a loop depend on the encoder you choose, so confirm those controls in that encoder’s current documentation and test with your actual video before relying on it. YouTube’s encoder setup guide also identifies Upstream.so as a cloud studio for 24/7 live video; that listing alone does not establish its particular file-looping features, uptime, or pricing.

Prepare the YouTube channel before setting up the stream
YouTube requires a verified channel and no live-stream restrictions within the preceding 90 days. Its mobile-live help additionally lists at least 50 subscribers, livestreaming enabled, and a possible 24-hour wait before a first mobile livestream can begin. It specifies Android 8.0+ or iOS 8+ device requirements. These are YouTube’s mobile guidance, not a universal statement that every encoder workflow has identical eligibility rules; check the current help pages for your channel, device, and region. - Verify the channel. Complete YouTube’s channel verification process if it is not already verified.
- Check channel standing. Confirm there are no live-stream restrictions in the last 90 days.
- Enable live streaming. If this is the channel’s first activation, allow for a possible 24-hour wait before the first mobile stream.
- Choose the actual source workflow. For a saved video that must repeat, select an encoder or hosted service with documented file playback and looping. For a camera or current phone screen, Streamlabs Mobile is the documented phone-broadcast path.
Send a prerecorded video through a computer encoder
This is the do-it-yourself route when you need to play a local file. YouTube’s setup guide covers the platform-side stream URL and key, but the file, loop, and restart controls are encoder-specific; there is no single set of Streamlabs Mobile menus that applies to this workflow.

- Create or schedule the live stream in YouTube Live Control Room. Select the intended visibility and event details. Keep the event available in Live Control Room while configuring the encoder.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key from YouTube. In the encoder, open its YouTube or custom-server streaming destination and enter the URL and key in the matching fields. Treat the key as a password: do not publish it or share it with anyone who should not control the broadcast.
- Add the prerecorded file as the encoder’s playback source. Confirm that the encoder supports the file format and that its current controls provide continuous repeat or playlist playback. If it does not document looping, do not assume a playlist will restart automatically.
- Check video and audio before broadcasting. Confirm the intended picture, aspect ratio, audio source and level, and that playback returns to the start without a silent gap or manual action. YouTube’s encoder setup guide links to its technical requirements; use those and your encoder’s current output controls rather than assuming a mobile setting will apply.
- Start an unlisted or otherwise non-public test. Check the Live Control Room preview and confirm both picture and sound are present and stable. YouTube recommends testing, previewing, and monitoring audio and video quality in its encoder streaming tips.
- Start the public event only after the test succeeds. Keep the encoder and network operating for the stream’s duration, and have a plan to detect interruptions and restart playback if the encoder stops.
Plan around YouTube’s archive limit and continuous operation
YouTube Help says streams shorter than 12 hours are automatically archived. It does not promise a complete archive for a stream that exceeds 12 hours. If you need a replay, plan a controlled stop and restart before the session reaches that duration, and verify the resulting archive in YouTube Studio. If the uninterrupted channel matters more than one all-day replay, understand that archive behavior is a separate concern from keeping the live feed running.
For a long broadcast, test the complete cycle—including the file reaching its end and restarting—before launch. YouTube recommends checking the Live Control Room preview and continuously monitoring audio and video; an unattended setup also needs a way to notice a dropped connection or stalled playback.

Streamlabs Mobile: use it for camera or screen, not an assumed file loop
In Streamlabs Mobile, the documented workflow is to choose a camera or screen-sharing broadcast and configure the mobile scene and output. Streamlabs’ own YouTube-from-phone guide says its app does not impose a follower-count limit, but that does not override YouTube’s channel eligibility rules. YouTube’s mobile requirements may still apply to a mobile broadcast, so check them before you depend on the phone workflow.
A phone screen displaying a video may look like a workaround, but it still depends on the phone remaining awake, the app and screen capture continuing, power and network stability, and the source staying visible. The reviewed Streamlabs guides do not establish that this is a supported unattended 24/7 file-loop method. If your requirement is an existing video replaying continuously, use a documented encoder or hosted file-looping service instead.

Only stream video and audio you have the rights or permission to use. A live label does not make copyrighted music, footage, or other material safe to rebroadcast. Troubleshoot common failures
- Streamlabs Mobile has no prerecorded-file loop option: The reviewed guides document camera and screen sources, not a local looping file source. Switch to an encoder or hosted service that explicitly documents file playback and looping.
- YouTube will not let the channel go live: Check verification, channel restrictions, whether livestreaming is enabled, and any first-activation delay. Mobile requirements are not necessarily identical to encoder eligibility; consult the relevant YouTube help page.
- The encoder connects but the preview is black or silent: Check that the correct file/source and audio are selected, then inspect the Live Control Room preview before making the event public. Test with the actual media file.
- The video stops at the end instead of repeating: Confirm the encoder’s loop or playlist-repeat control is enabled and test a full end-to-start cycle. Do not assume the source repeats merely because it is in a playlist.
- A mobile broadcast will not go live: Streamlabs’ support notice dated September 3, 2026 says reported YouTube mobile go-live issues were resolved. If the same symptom remains, its stated workarounds are switching to horizontal format or selecting an existing broadcast: check the current Streamlabs support notice.
- The broadcast is interrupted or the replay is incomplete: Monitor stream health and encoder operation; plan around YouTube’s stated automatic archive threshold of streams under 12 hours, and keep a separate local recording if you need a complete copy.
