You can run a 24/7 YouTube livestream of Nepali songs only if you have permission for the specific recordings and compositions, the intended Indian audience, and any replay you plan to keep. You also need to account for YouTube’s live copyright checks: a licence by itself may not prevent an interruption if the rights owner has not allowlisted your channel in Content ID. An encoder or cloud service can deliver a stream, but neither grants music rights nor guarantees uninterrupted operation.
Can I run a 24/7 Nepali music livestream for viewers in India?
Technically, YouTube supports livestreams delivered by an encoder. Legally and operationally, the answer depends on the rights for each track and on YouTube’s policies. There is no general permission that covers every Nepali song or catalogue in India, and the available platform guidance does not identify which India-specific licences apply to a particular recording.
YouTube scans livestreams for matches to third-party content. A match can result in a warning, a placeholder, interruption, or termination. Rights owners may also choose to monetize music, block it worldwide, or block it in selected countries or regions; those policies can change. How to clear Nepali songs for a YouTube livestream
Identify the rights in every track
Before scheduling the stream, identify the rights holders for both the sound recording and the underlying composition. Ask the label, distributor, publisher, or other actual rights holders for written permission covering use in a YouTube livestream, the intended territories (including India), the permission term, and any saved or replay version. YouTube says you generally need permission before including copyright-protected material, and YouTube for Artists recommends coordinating with a label or distributor.
Do not assume that permission for a song, recording, or ordinary video upload automatically covers continuous live transmission, an archive, or every territory. Clarify any revenue, attribution, or other conditions directly with the rights holders. For India-specific questions, seek catalogue-specific permission and qualified local legal advice; general YouTube guidance does not settle which Indian permissions or collecting-society arrangements apply to a particular repertoire.

Ask for Content ID allowlisting
If you have a licence, ask the rights owner to add your YouTube channel to its Content ID allowlist for the relevant music. YouTube warns that a live stream can be interrupted even when the creator has licensed the third-party content if the channel is not allowlisted. Confirm which channel and tracks are covered, and get the rights owner’s confirmation before going live.
Check territory and archive terms
Check that the rights owner’s YouTube policy permits viewing in India, then verify the planned stream’s availability for that audience. A rights-holder policy can change after launch, so permission and availability should be checked again when the repertoire or stream changes. Separately confirm whether the permission covers an archived livestream: YouTube says Content ID claims on archived livestreams can arrive after the live broadcast ends.

How to set up and test the YouTube livestream
- Enable live streaming early. YouTube for Artists advises verifying the account at least 24 hours before a first livestream. Complete the channel’s live-stream setup and allow time for verification before your planned start.
- Choose an encoder-based workflow. YouTube for Artists says an encoder gives more customization and control than a simple mobile or webcam stream. Google’s Live Streaming API documentation describes encoder delivery using DASH and compatible formats. These sources establish encoder delivery, but they do not specify a computer model, hardware requirement, or design that guarantees a continuous 24/7 broadcast.
- Configure the broadcast in YouTube and your encoder. Create or schedule the livestream in YouTube Studio, obtain the stream key and server details shown for that broadcast, and enter them in your encoder. Keep the stream key private; anyone with access may be able to send video to the stream. Use the exact settings YouTube Studio and the encoder support for your chosen output. The cited guidance does not establish a single bitrate, resolution, keyframe interval, or hardware profile for this use case, so do not treat a guessed preset as an official requirement.
- Run an unlisted test. YouTube for Artists recommends testing as an unlisted stream before going live, especially for a high-investment broadcast. Check that the encoder connects, audio and video are present, the playlist behaves as intended, and the stream can be viewed from the intended setup. A technical test does not establish that the music is cleared or that Content ID will not interrupt the public stream.
- Start only after rights checks are complete. Confirm the permissions, territory availability, and allowlisting for the planned tracks before switching to a public broadcast. Keep a record of the permissions and the rights-holder contacts in case a claim or interruption needs investigation.
- Review what happens after the stream ends. Check YouTube’s archive and any later claims, and keep or remove the replay in line with the permission you received. Do not promise viewers a complete replay unless both the platform outcome and licence permit it.

Troubleshooting common problems
- YouTube interrupts the livestream after a music match: Stop or replace the matched material and contact the rights holder. If the music is licensed, ask them to allowlist your channel; YouTube says a licence alone may not prevent an interruption without allowlisting.
- Viewers in India cannot watch: Check the rights owner’s territory policy and the stream’s current availability. A track may be blocked in a selected country or region, and only the rights holder can clarify the applicable policy for its catalogue.
- The live stream works, but the replay receives a claim: Recheck whether your permission covers the archived broadcast. YouTube says archive claims can be made after the stream ends; handle the archive according to the licence and the claim details.
- The encoder will not connect: Confirm that you used the current stream key and server details for the correct YouTube broadcast and that your encoder supports the selected delivery format. The cited sources do not prescribe a particular encoder configuration for every setup.
- The stream stops during an otherwise cleared broadcast: A music licence is not a guarantee against technical failure. Check the encoder or cloud workflow, connection, and YouTube stream status, then restore the broadcast if possible. No reviewed source establishes a setup that is guaranteed to run uninterrupted 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Costs and choosing a setup
Budget for the delivery method as well as the work of obtaining permissions. A DIY encoder may involve equipment, power, and a dependable connection; a cloud service has a service charge. The available platform sources do not provide a comparable cost or equipment estimate, and music licensing terms depend on the actual repertoire and rights holders. Compare options for control, suitability for always-on operation, compatibility, monitoring and recovery, and total cost. Compare music permissions separately by recording and composition, live and archive use, territories, term, allowlisting, and any revenue or attribution conditions.
