You can configure a 720p Indian music livestream with a modest—but stable—upload connection by sending 1280×720 video at 30 fps, using a suitable bitrate and keyframe interval, and monitoring YouTube’s stream health. The hard part is not the resolution: it is securing rights to every track and keeping the encoder, power, and internet connection working. Treat “24/7” as an operating goal, not a guarantee that one broadcast will stay uninterrupted indefinitely.
Clear music rights before you set up the stream
Do not start with a playlist and assume that a music subscription, public availability, or a general performance permission covers a YouTube livestream. Indian copyright law identifies public performance and communication to the public among copyright-owner rights. A stream may involve separate rights in the underlying musical composition and in the sound recording. The Copyright Office’s Copyright Act, 1957 defines communication to the public broadly as making a work or performance available to be heard or enjoyed by the public by diffusion, whether or not anyone actually listens.
Get permission for the actual use
Obtain written permission from the relevant rights owners or their authorized representatives. Confirm that it covers the specific tracks, YouTube livestreaming, the territories where viewers may access the stream, and any recording or replay you intend to keep. Check that the person granting permission controls the necessary rights in both the composition and the recording.
Recommended Free Tools
The Copyright Rules, 2013 include notice and royalty provisions for the statutory broadcasting route under Section 31D. That is not an automatic licence for an individual creator’s YouTube stream; whether a particular route applies depends on the facts and legal interpretation. Do not treat it as a substitute for confirming your own permissions.

Coordinate Content ID allowlisting
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match can lead to a warning, replacement of the stream image, interruption, or termination. YouTube notes that even licensed content can be interrupted if the channel is not on the rights owner’s Content ID allowlist. Ask the owner or distributor to coordinate allowlisting before you go live. YouTube for Artists similarly advises coordinating with a label or distributor when using protected music: official guidance for music on YouTube.
An archived live stream may receive a Content ID claim after the broadcast ends. Keep an archive only if your permission also covers that recorded version and its territories.

Choose a 720p configuration that fits your upload connection
For a low-bandwidth starting point, set the encoder to 1280×720 at 30 fps. YouTube’s current encoder guidance recommends 8 Mbps for H.264 at 720p30, or 6 Mbps for AV1/H.265 at that resolution and frame rate. These are recommended video ingest bitrates—not a guaranteed minimum internet plan. Leave upload headroom for audio and normal network variation, then test from the place and at the time you will stream.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →| Setting | Recommended starting point | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Resolution and frame rate | 1280×720 at 30 fps | Use the same values in your encoder and verify the incoming stream in YouTube Studio. |
| Video codec and bitrate | H.264: 8 Mbps recommended; AV1/H.265: 6 Mbps recommended for 720p30 | Choose a codec your encoder supports reliably. These are YouTube ingestion recommendations, not an internet-plan guarantee. |
| Rate control | CBR | Keep the output bitrate steady rather than allowing large swings. |
| Keyframes | Every 2 seconds | YouTube recommends a two-second interval and says not to exceed four seconds. |
| Audio | AAC or MP3; stereo at 44.1 kHz and 128 kbps in YouTube’s advanced settings | Keep the audio codec, bitrate, and sample rate consistent if you configure a backup stream. |
| Ingest protocol | RTMPS where available | YouTube recommends RTMPS, the secure extension of RTMP. |
These settings follow YouTube’s live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions. The video bitrate is the main bandwidth demand; do not mistake a bitrate recommendation for a promise about the connection speed needed at every location. Measure sustained upload performance and test the full stream with representative audio and movement.

- PLUG IN AND HEAR SOUND IN SECONDS - USB Type-A connector with a 3.5mm stereo headphone output and a separate 3.5mm mono microphone input. No drivers, no software, no external power - the adapter is USB bus-powered and is recognized as a standard USB audio device.
- WORKS ON WINDOWS, MAC AND LINUX - Driverless on Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP/Server 2003/Vista/7/8, Linux and Mac OSX, and compliant with the USB Audio Device Class 1.0 specification, so any system that supports class-compliant USB audio will see it. Select it as the sound output and input device after plugging it in.
- TWO JACKS, TWO JOBS - The green jack is stereo OUT for headphones or powered speakers; the pink jack is mono microphone IN for a 3.5mm mic. It does NOT support 4-pole headsets on a single combo plug, it does NOT power passive speakers, and it does NOT add surround sound - it is a stereo 2-channel adapter.
- FOR LAPTOPS AND DESKTOPS THAT NEED AN AUDIO PORT BACK - Adds a headphone and mic port to a laptop, desktop, or mini PC whose onboard jack has failed or was never there. Managed and work-issued computers can block new USB audio devices by policy - check with your IT department before ordering for a company machine.
- SABRENT SUPPORT AND WARRANTY - What is in the box: one USB audio sound adapter. Backed by a 1-year limited warranty, extended to 2 years when you register within 90 days on the manufacturer's website.
Set up and test the do-it-yourself stream
- Confirm rights first. Make a track list and obtain written permission for the live use, territories, and any archive. Arrange Content ID allowlisting with the owner or distributor before launch.
- Create the YouTube live stream. In YouTube Studio, open Create > Go live and set up the stream. Copy the stream key from the stream settings; treat it as a password and do not share it publicly.
- Configure your encoder. Enter the YouTube server URL and stream key. Select RTMPS when offered, then set 1280×720, 30 fps, CBR, the codec and corresponding recommended bitrate above, a two-second keyframe interval, and stereo AAC or MP3 audio.
- Check the actual connection. Use YouTube’s upload-bitrate test guidance and run a private or unlisted test from the intended streaming location. A wired connection is preferable when the installation permits. Look for stable delivery, clear audio, and no recurring stream-health warnings.
- Review YouTube’s status before public launch. In YouTube Studio, check the incoming stream and stream-health messages. Resolve configuration warnings or dropped frames before relying on the stream.
- Plan for unattended operation. Use equipment that can sustain the selected codec and resolution without overheating, and account for power and network interruptions. Arrange a responsible person to check the stream and a procedure to restart the encoder or reconnect if it stops. YouTube’s official guidance does not establish that one broadcast can remain uninterrupted indefinitely.
Choosing an encoder computer
YouTube describes an encoder as providing more customization and control, but the sources do not establish a specific CPU, memory amount, or computer model for this workflow. Choose based on supported codecs, sustained 720p30 encoding performance, thermal behavior, a reliable wired-network option, and whether the device can run unattended in your environment. No particular computer has been tested or ranked here.
Troubleshoot interruptions and poor stream health
- YouTube reports unstable or low bitrate: Test sustained upload performance at the streaming location. Check for competing network use, try a wired connection, and lower the output bitrate if the connection cannot sustain the selected target.
- The stream looks uneven or drops frames: Confirm that the encoder is maintaining 720p30 and CBR. Check the computer’s sustained encoding performance and heat, then test again with representative audio and motion.
- YouTube flags a configuration issue: Compare the encoder output with YouTube’s ingest settings: RTMPS where available, a supported codec, CBR, two-second keyframes (never over four seconds), and compatible audio settings.
- A licensed track triggers a warning or interruption: Stop and contact the rights owner or distributor. Confirm the permission covers the exact recording and composition, then ask them to allowlist your channel in Content ID. A licence by itself may not prevent an automated interruption.
- The stream stops after a power, network, or encoder failure: Restore the connection or restart the encoder, then verify the incoming feed and stream health in YouTube Studio. A 24/7 schedule requires monitoring and a recovery plan; the official guidance does not promise uninterrupted availability.
- An archive receives a claim after the live ends: Review the archive against the licence’s recording, replay, and territory terms. Remove or restrict the archive if the permission does not cover it, and resolve rights questions with the owner.
Or let it run in the cloud
If the goal is to keep a YouTube music stream running without leaving a computer at home, StreamNeo is a cloud option for uploaded videos—not a camera livestream. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo loops the uploaded content from the cloud, so your computer and home connection do not have to stay on.

What “24/7” means in practice
A 24/7 stream is a service schedule, not proof that a single broadcast will never stop. YouTube’s encoder guidance and API documentation expose stream configuration and health information, but they do not guarantee uninterrupted operation or establish a maximum duration for one broadcast. For a self-hosted setup, plan to monitor health and recover from network, power, encoder, or rights interruptions rather than promising perfect continuity.
YouTube for Artists reported that over 30% of daily logged-in YouTube viewers watched live content in Q2 2025. That is a platform-wide figure, not a forecast for an individual channel or for Indian music streams.
