You can keep Indian music live on YouTube around the clock by sending a continuous encoder feed to YouTube Live, preferably over RTMPS. The connection alone cannot guarantee a stable broadcast: you need permission for every track, an upload link with enough sustained capacity, a tested encoder setup, and a plan to monitor and recover failures. YouTube’s API documentation describes a 24/7 broadcast as a supported use case, not a promise of uninterrupted uptime. Google’s broadcast documentation was last updated September 14, 2026.
Clear the music rights before configuring the stream
Indian music can involve separate rights in a composition and a particular sound recording. Before broadcasting, confirm that your permissions cover the tracks you plan to play, continuous live use on YouTube, and the territories where viewers may watch. Owning a recording or having access to a song through a consumer streaming service does not by itself establish permission to retransmit it.
YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content. If it identifies a match, it may replace the stream with a placeholder and warn you to stop using the material; if the matched content remains, the live stream can be interrupted or terminated. A license does not necessarily prevent an interruption: YouTube says the rights owner should add the channel to its Content ID allowlist. Coordinate with the relevant rights owner, label, or distributor before launch. YouTube for Artists specifically recommends coordinating with a label or distributor when using copyright-protected music during a live stream. Read YouTube’s live copyright guidance and YouTube for Artists’ live-stream guidance.
Check that your channel can go live
YouTube says the channel must be verified and must not have had a live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days. Enable live streaming at least 24 hours before the planned start, as advised in YouTube for Artists’ music-channel guidance. Check eligibility early so a restriction or setup delay does not derail launch. See YouTube’s live-stream setup instructions.

Configure a continuous encoder feed
1. Create the YouTube live stream and protect its key
- In YouTube Studio, open the live-streaming workflow, create or schedule the broadcast, and open Live Control Room.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for the broadcast into your encoder’s YouTube or custom RTMPS destination settings. Treat the key like a password: do not show it on screen, share it publicly, or include it in a public post.
- Use the stream URL provided by YouTube rather than guessing an ingest address. If the encoder offers RTMPS, choose it. Google describes RTMPS as RTMP carried through TLS/SSL; its developer ingestion guide specifies a valid RTMPS endpoint and application path using port 443. See Google’s RTMPS ingestion guide.
2. Match video and audio settings to the connection
YouTube’s current live encoder guidance lists H.264, H.265, or AV1 video and AAC or MP3 audio for RTMP/RTMPS. It recommends constant bitrate (CBR) and a two-second keyframe interval, which should not exceed four seconds. Use settings supported by your encoder and choose a resolution and bitrate that your measured upload can sustain continuously. YouTube’s H.264 examples include:
| Video format | Recommended video bitrate |
|---|---|
| 720p at 60 fps | 6 Mbps |
| 1080p at 30 fps | 10 Mbps |
| 1080p at 60 fps | 12 Mbps |
These are YouTube’s recommendations, not a guarantee that a particular internet connection can carry them reliably. Include audio and any other outgoing stream in your bandwidth planning. Check the complete, current settings list at YouTube’s encoder settings and bitrate guidance.

3. Leave upload headroom and test the actual route
YouTube recommends available upload bandwidth be at least 20% greater than the total streaming bitrate. For example, a 10 Mbps output calls for at least 12 Mbps of available upload under that rule. If you send primary and backup feeds, account for both in the total. A speed-test result is only useful if the encoder can still get the required bandwidth while other devices and services use the same connection.

4. Run a private rehearsal and test recovery
- Before the public launch, run an unlisted test and check the preview, audio, video, and Live Control Room health indicators.
- If your design uses a backup encoder, test the rollover. YouTube suggests stopping the primary encoder or unplugging its Ethernet cable and confirming that the player moves to the backup. Treat this as a test of your own setup, not proof that another failure mode will recover automatically.
- Decide who will respond if the encoder, power, connection, or rights workflow fails. Assign an operator or set up alerts that will actually be monitored; a running encoder without an observer is not a recovery plan.
Keep a 24/7 broadcast stable after launch
A continuous broadcast depends on the encoder, power, and network remaining available, as well as the platform accepting the incoming stream. YouTube warns that connectivity disruptions can break a stream. Keep the encoder on a reliable power source, avoid unnecessary network changes, monitor the Live Control Room, and define who can restart or switch to a tested backup path. A UPS or a separately tested second internet path may help with some local failures, but neither guarantees uninterrupted service.
For a local setup, the computer running the encoder must remain on and connected for the feed to continue. A home or office connection may also be shared, so changes in available upload can destabilize an otherwise correctly configured stream. Recheck stream health and sustained upload after changes to the network or encoder settings rather than assuming an earlier test still applies.

Plan for recordings separately from the live feed
A continuous stream and a complete replay are different things. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, while a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. If you need a full record or replayable segments, arrange a local recording and storage workflow; do not rely on a single 24-hour broadcast becoming a complete YouTube replay. See YouTube’s archive guidance.
Google’s API documentation describes binding a continuously live broadcast and a separate shorter broadcast to the same incoming stream. That is an API-oriented example, not a general promise that every creator’s encoder or Studio setup can create the same arrangement. For most setups, make local recording and replay needs an explicit part of the plan.

Troubleshoot common RTMPS and continuity problems
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check or do |
|---|---|---|
| Encoder cannot connect, or reports an SSL error or timeout | Wrong stream URL or host, incorrect endpoint details, or an encoder that does not support RTMPS | Copy the URL from Live Control Room again; confirm the encoder is using RTMPS and supports it. Check the endpoint, application path, and port 443 requirements in Google’s RTMPS guide. |
| Stream health worsens, stutters, or disconnects | Insufficient or fluctuating available upload, or a shared connection under load | Measure sustained upload on the encoder’s actual route, reduce output bitrate or resolution if needed, include backup-feed bandwidth, and preserve YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom. Check network use by other devices and review YouTube’s streaming tips. |
| Video looks unstable or the encoder is not accepted as configured | Unsupported codec or mismatched encoder parameters | Verify the selected codec is H.264, H.265, or AV1 for video and AAC or MP3 for audio; use CBR and a two-second keyframe interval (no more than four seconds). Compare the resolution and bitrate with YouTube’s current settings guidance. |
| Live stream is replaced, interrupted, or terminated after music plays | YouTube detected third-party material, or the channel was not allowlisted by the rights owner | Stop using the identified material, resolve the permissions, and contact the relevant rights owner, label, or distributor about Content ID allowlisting before resuming. Follow YouTube’s live copyright guidance. |
| A long broadcast has no complete replay | The stream exceeded 12 hours; YouTube says it may not be captured | Use a local recording plan and divide or otherwise preserve the material as needed. See YouTube’s archive guidance. |
| Backup encoder does not take over | Failover was not configured as expected or the backup path has not been tested | Rehearse the transition by stopping the primary encoder or disconnecting its Ethernet cable, then verify the player switches to the backup. Diagnose the specific setup rather than relying on an untested fallback. |
