You can keep archived revival meetings playing on a church YouTube channel by sending prerecorded video through an encoder to a YouTube live stream. First confirm the channel can go live and that the church has rights to retransmit every recording; then choose a local encoder or a cloud service, configure the YouTube stream key, and test the feed before announcing it. For a channel that must keep running when church computers are off, StreamNeo is a cloud option for looping uploaded videos to YouTube.
Before you set up a continuous stream
Check channel eligibility and activation time
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-stream restrictions in the preceding 90 days. If the channel has never streamed live before, activation may take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before the planned launch. Check the channel in YouTube Studio and follow YouTube’s current eligibility flow: Get started with live streaming.
Confirm rights to every recording
Permission to show a revival meeting in person does not necessarily include permission to retransmit its recording on YouTube. Confirm that the church has the necessary rights for the live transmission and any resulting archive, including rights to performances, compositions, background music, and other third-party material. YouTube’s livestream terms place responsibility for those rights on the provider.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Review the actual files, not just the service title or date. A recording may contain a guest musician, a copyrighted song, slides, or other material with separate permissions. If permission is unclear, leave that recording out until the rights are resolved. YouTube also has a copyright safety checklist you can use while reviewing material.

Choose how the video will repeat
YouTube’s encoder workflow sends a feed from an encoder; it does not by itself make a folder of old services loop continuously. Before committing to a setup, verify that the chosen encoder or service supports repeat playback or playlists, and test what happens when one file ends. The exact playlist and repeat controls vary by product, so use that product’s current documentation rather than assuming every encoder loops media.
Choose a way to keep the YouTube stream running
| Option | What it does | Questions to verify |
|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo cloud service | Uploads recordings and keeps an always-on YouTube stream running from the cloud; it plays uploaded videos rather than a live camera feed. | Confirm the recordings fit the available pooled storage across active slots and test your playlist and transitions. |
| Local computer and encoder software | Runs the encoder on a church computer that sends the feed to YouTube. YouTube supports encoder workflows and lists OBS among encoders for HLS output. | Can the selected software repeat the playlist, run unattended, and recover after a file ends? Can the computer, power, and internet connection stay dependable around the clock? |
| Another cloud streaming service | YouTube’s encoder page names Gyre as a cloud-based tool for 24/7 streaming of prerecorded videos. | Check current availability, supported formats, looping and scheduling behavior, recovery, pricing, and service terms with the provider. |
There is no universal winner between a local encoder and another cloud provider: cost, reliability, and feature parity depend on the specific setup and current provider terms. For any option, test the actual recordings, including at least one transition between videos, before launch. YouTube’s encoder instructions explain how its encoder workflow connects, and identify Gyre as a cloud option for prerecorded 24/7 streams.

Set up a local encoder with YouTube
The local route is useful when the church already has a dependable computer and internet connection. The computer and encoder must remain running and connected for the feed to continue.

- Prepare the source files. Put the recordings you have permission to retransmit in a known location. Check that the selected encoder can play the files and repeat them in the intended order. Set up a test playlist and observe the transition at the end of a recording.
- Create the live stream in YouTube Studio. Open the Live Control Room, create or select the stream, and locate its stream URL and stream key. Keep the key private; anyone with access to it may be able to send a feed to that stream.
- Configure the encoder. Select the video playlist or repeat behavior in the encoder, then enter YouTube’s stream URL and key in the encoder’s streaming destination settings. Use RTMPS where the encoder offers it. Set resolution and bitrate for the church’s actual upload connection, and use YouTube’s current encoder settings guidance rather than guessing values.
- Start the encoder and inspect the preview. YouTube’s workflow is to start the encoder, then check the Live Control Room preview and use its go-live controls as applicable. Verify the correct service appears, speech and music are audible, and the picture is stable before sharing the watch page.
- Test the full repeat cycle and interruption response. Watch a file end and the next one begin. Confirm the playlist resumes as expected after a source ends, then decide who will respond to a computer, power, encoder, or network failure. Do not assume the software will restart itself unless you have tested that behavior.
- Monitor after launch. Keep a responsible person assigned to check stream health and audio/video. YouTube’s live streaming tips recommend previewing the event, checking that viewers can reach it from channel and watch pages and mobile devices, and monitoring the local archive.
Resolution, bitrate, and keyframes
Set output quality to match the source and the available upload connection; a high resolution is not useful if the connection cannot sustain it. YouTube’s settings guidance recommends a 2-second keyframe interval and says not to exceed 4 seconds. Test at the intended resolution and bitrate on the connection that will actually carry the stream, then review YouTube’s stream-health indicators before announcing it.

Plan around YouTube archives and viewer rewind
YouTube says live streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, but streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. If the channel needs a YouTube archive, schedule shorter sessions and verify each archive after the stream; keep a local recording or archive copy as backup. YouTube’s archive guidance explains the limitation.
Viewer DVR allows pausing and rewinding, but YouTube says DVR may be limited or unavailable for streams longer than 12 hours. If people need to revisit a particular sermon or song, a very long continuous stream may not provide the rewind experience they expect. See YouTube’s DVR guidance.
