To stream a playlist over Airtel Xstream Fiber, play the files on a computer with OBS Studio and send the encoded stream to YouTube Live. In OBS, use a VLC Video source for multiple files, enable Loop Playlist if you want them to repeat, and connect OBS to the broadcast’s YouTube stream key. Airtel provides the internet connection; the computer—not the router or an Xstream set-top box—plays and streams the videos.
Before you start
- A computer that can play the video files and run OBS Studio.
- OBS Studio and VLC installed. The VLC Video source requires VLC.
- Video files you have the right to broadcast, arranged in the order you want.
- A YouTube channel eligible to go live, plus access to YouTube Live Control Room.
- A stable internet connection from the computer to your Airtel router. Ethernet is worth testing if Wi-Fi is unstable.
YouTube says live streaming requires a verified channel, no live-streaming restrictions in the prior 90 days, and a minimum age of 16. Requirements and enforcement can change; check the channel’s current status in YouTube’s live-stream eligibility guidance and Live Control Room before planning a broadcast.
Set up the video playlist in OBS
- Create a scene: In OBS, add or select a scene for the broadcast.
- Add the playlist source: Choose VLC Video as a source and add the local video files in the order you want them to play.
- Set repeat and order: Enable Loop Playlist to repeat the queue. Leave Shuffle Playlist off if the sequence matters.
- Fit the picture and audio: Make the source visible at the intended size in the scene, and check its audio levels. Play the files locally before going live; format support alone does not guarantee that every codec or file will work on every computer.
- Check playback: Confirm that the first file starts, the audio is present, and the queue advances as expected. OBS documents common formats such as MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, and WebM for its separate Media Source.
If you only need to repeat one file, OBS’s Media Source is the simpler alternative: add the file and use its Loop option. It is not the multi-file playlist queue. For multiple files, use VLC Video. See the OBS media-source documentation for source controls and format details.

- Open YouTube Live Control Room and create or schedule a broadcast.
- In OBS, select YouTube RTMPS if it is available for the connection, or enter the server and stream key shown for that broadcast, following YouTube’s instructions. YouTube recommends RTMPS, an encrypted extension of RTMP.
- Keep the stream key private. Anyone who obtains it may be able to send a stream to your broadcast.
- Configure the video and audio output, then start streaming from OBS. Wait for the preview and stream-health information in Live Control Room before going live or allowing the scheduled broadcast to begin.

Choose output settings that your connection can sustain
There is no single bitrate that is safe for every Airtel Xstream Fiber subscriber. Airtel’s broadband page advertises plans and speeds that may be expressed as maximum or “up to” values; that does not establish the sustained upload rate available at a particular home, at a particular time, or over Wi-Fi. Measure and test from the actual streaming computer, and treat YouTube’s published values as settings to evaluate—not as a promise about your line.
YouTube’s encoder guidance, accessed on October 3, 2026, lists these H.264 recommendations. The page did not display a publication year, so these figures are identified by the date they were checked:

- 【1080P HD High Quality】Capture resolution up to 1080p for video source and it is ideal for all HDMI devices such as PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, DVDs, DSLR, Camera, Security Camera and set top box. Note: Video input supports 4K30/60Hz and 1080p120/144Hz. Does not support 4K120Hz/144Hz. Output supports up to 2K30Hz.
- 【Plug and Play】No driver or external power supply required, true PnP. Once plugged in, the device is identified automatically as a webcam. Detect input and adjust output automatically. Won't occupy CPU, optional audio capture. No freeze with correct setting.
- 【Compatible with Multiple Systems】suitable for Windows and Mac OS. High speed USB 3.0 technology and superior low latency technology makes it easier for you to transmit live streaming to Twitch, Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, OBS, Potplayer and VLC.
- 【HDMI LOOP-OUT】Based on the high-speed USB 3.0 technology, it can capture one single channel HD HDMI video signal. There is no delay when you are playing game live.
- 【Support Mic-in for Commentary】Rybozen capture card has microphone input and you can use it to add external commentary when playing a game. Please note: it only accepts 3.5mm TRS standard microphone headset.
| H.264 output | YouTube-listed minimum bitrate | YouTube-listed recommended bitrate |
|---|---|---|
| 1080p at 30 fps | 5 Mbps | 10 Mbps |
| 1080p at 60 fps | 6 Mbps | 12 Mbps |
YouTube recommends CBR and a two-second keyframe interval; its guidance says the interval should be no more than four seconds. The guidance lists H.264, H.265/HEVC, and AV1 ingestion options. Set resolution, frame rate, codec, and bitrate according to what the computer can encode and the connection can sustain. Higher resolutions and frame rates require more bitrate. Check YouTube’s current encoder table before streaming because platform settings can change.
Test, start, and monitor the broadcast
- Run a test with audio and movement similar to the intended stream. Use the same computer and network path you plan to use for the broadcast.
- Start streaming in OBS and check the YouTube preview and stream-health messages before going live.
- Monitor OBS’s dropped-frame indicators and YouTube’s stream health during the broadcast.
- If frames are dropping or the connection is unstable, lower the bitrate and test again. A speed-test result by itself does not guarantee a stable long broadcast.
Should you use Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi?
If the computer can be connected to the Airtel router by Ethernet, test that before buying equipment. OBS warns that “WiFi may be unstable for streaming” and recommends a wired connection. A wired link can help isolate Wi-Fi as a cause, but it cannot guarantee a stable route to YouTube. A cable, router, network adapter, or other device can also be faulty; diagnose the connection before replacing hardware. Airtel’s broadband plans page does not establish the upload performance of your individual connection.

Common problems and fixes
- VLC Video is missing: Install VLC, then reopen OBS and check the source options. The playlist source requires VLC.
- Only one file plays: Check that you added a VLC Video source and populated its playlist. OBS Media Source is for a single file; its Loop option repeats that file rather than queueing multiple videos.
- The playlist does not repeat: Enable Loop Playlist in the VLC Video source. If playback order changes unexpectedly, disable Shuffle Playlist.
- YouTube does not receive the stream: Confirm that OBS is using the server and stream key for the correct broadcast, that the key was copied accurately, and that the channel can currently go live. Keep the key private.
- Dropped frames or unstable stream health: Reduce bitrate, test from the streaming computer, and try Ethernet if practical. OBS’s connection troubleshooting guide covers connection-related causes and diagnostics.
- Video or audio fails in the scene: Test the file locally, check the source’s visibility and audio levels, and try a known-working file. The documented formats do not guarantee compatibility with every computer, codec, or file.
Check rights and YouTube rules before streaming
Only include videos and audio you are authorized to broadcast. YouTube requires live content to comply with its policies and terms; a playlist of prerecorded files does not remove copyright obligations or channel restrictions. Confirm eligibility and rights for every item before starting, and review YouTube’s live-stream eligibility guidance for current requirements.
