You can run a Telugu devotional radio channel on YouTube by sending a continuous audio or video program through an encoder connected to YouTube Studio. Before going live, verify that your channel is eligible, set up the stream URL and key, and clear the rights for every song and recording. For a nonstop service, also plan how to recover from interruptions and preserve archives: YouTube warns that streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured.
What you need before starting
- A verified YouTube channel with live streaming enabled and no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. YouTube’s current Help guidance says creators must be at least 16 to live stream. Check eligibility before scheduling the launch: YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
- An encoder: software on a computer, dedicated hardware, or a cloud service that can send your program to YouTube. For a simple audio-led devotional station, a dedicated hardware encoder is optional; YouTube says creators can start with equipment they have.
- A prepared program source, such as a playlist of recordings or a video with devotional audio. Confirm that your chosen encoder can play that source continuously and recover if it stops.
- Permission to stream the actual compositions and sound recordings in every territory where viewers can watch. Religious or devotional subject matter does not make a recording copyright-free.
- A plan for monitoring the broadcast, restarting after failure, and saving a local archive if you need one.
Clear the music rights before you build the playlist
Do not assume a Telugu devotional song is free to broadcast because it is traditional, religious, or widely available online. Rights can apply separately to the composition, lyrics, and particular sound recording. Confirm that your permission covers live streaming, archives, the territories where the channel can be viewed, and any other use you intend.
YouTube’s live-stream terms make the provider responsible for obtaining the necessary rights, including applicable music rights involving artists, labels, publishers, and other participants. YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches. A licensed broadcast can still be interrupted if the relevant rightsholder has not allowlisted the channel through Content ID. Coordinate with the label, publisher, or distributor and ask them to allowlist your channel where appropriate. See YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams and YouTube for Artists.

Set up the YouTube live stream
- Open YouTube Studio and enter Live Control Room. Create a new stream or select an existing one. YouTube supports encoder-based streaming; its setup guidance is at Set up your encoder for live streaming.
- Copy the server URL and stream key. In the stream’s settings, copy the values YouTube provides. Treat the stream key like a password: anyone who obtains it could send video to your broadcast. Do not publish it or include it in a screenshot.
- Configure the encoder. Choose the stream or custom RTMP destination, paste YouTube’s server URL and key into the corresponding fields, then select the prepared audio/video source. The exact labels vary by encoder. For a recurring feed, YouTube’s API documentation describes reusable stream settings and includes 24/7 live feeds as a use case: YouTube Live Streaming API: using live streams.
- Check the preview in Live Control Room. Confirm that the picture, audio level, and synchronization are correct before starting the broadcast. Listen for silence, clipping, gaps between playlist tracks, and unwanted desktop or microphone audio.
- Start streaming from the encoder, then confirm the live status in Studio. Verify the stream on the channel or watch page as well as in the control room, including on a phone if mobile playback matters to your audience.
Choose a 24/7 operating method
Computer running encoder software
A computer gives you control over playlists, overlays, and connected audio or video equipment. The encoder and source must keep running, and the machine needs a dependable internet connection and power. Configure automatic restart if your software supports it, and test what happens after an internet outage or computer reboot. This approach can suit a channel that already has an operator or a machine dedicated to the broadcast.
Dedicated hardware encoder
A hardware encoder is an optional route for a production with connected audio/video equipment or higher production requirements. YouTube recommends professional-grade hardware encoders for higher-production events, but does not require one for every stream. Check that a device supports your source and the connection method YouTube provides; budget for monitoring and recovery rather than assuming hardware alone makes the service unattended.

Keep YouTube archives under its capture limit
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, while streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all: Archive live streams. If a YouTube archive is important, run sequential broadcasts shorter than 12 hours, end each cleanly, and start the next. This creates breaks in the live service, so arrange the transition and keep a local recording as backup.

Monitor the stream instead of assuming it is healthy
YouTube’s live-stream tips recommend checking preview, testing encoder failover, verifying that the local recording file is growing, checking availability on channel and watch pages and mobile, and monitoring audio and video quality: YouTube live-streaming tips. These are operational checks, not a guarantee of uninterrupted service. For a radio-style broadcast, listen to the actual output as well as checking that the encoder reports a connection.

Quick Recap
Troubleshoot common interruptions
YouTube does not show a preview
- Confirm that the channel is eligible for live streaming and has no active restriction.
- Check that the encoder has the correct server URL and current stream key from the selected YouTube stream.
- Confirm the encoder is sending its source and that the connection is online; check Live Control Room again after correcting the settings.
The stream starts, then stops or drops
- Check the computer, encoder, power, internet connection, and program source for a failure. Test the encoder’s failover or restart behavior before relying on unattended operation.
- Verify that the broadcast is still available on the channel’s watch page. Restart the encoder or source as needed, and monitor the return to live status.
- If a cloud stream is interrupted by YouTube, StreamNeo includes automatic recovery; this does not replace checking that the channel and program have resumed correctly.
The broadcast is interrupted for a copyright match
- Identify the matched track or recording and stop using it until its rights and permitted uses are confirmed.
- Contact the label, publisher, or distributor to confirm the license covers live streaming and relevant territories, and to request Content ID allowlisting for the channel when applicable.
- Do not assume that a license alone prevents interruption if the rightsholder has not allowlisted the channel.
The live stream exists but no archive appears
- Check the broadcast duration. YouTube warns that a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all.
- For future broadcasts, use shorter sequential sessions if YouTube archives are needed and maintain a separate local recording.
