To stream a recorded property tour on YouTube Live, send the prepared video through YouTube’s encoder workflow: create or select a broadcast in Live Control Room, configure an encoder with the stream details YouTube provides, test the feed, then start the broadcast. You can play the tour as recorded or add live Tamil narration, graphics, and chat responses. YouTube documents encoder streaming generally; it does not describe a special procedure for Indian property tours or Tamil-language streams.
Choose the right format for the tour
An encoder is a good fit when you want to play prepared footage with a planned presentation, such as a Tamil introduction, location labels, or live commentary. YouTube documents encoder use for overlays and audio equipment. A mobile or webcam stream may suit a quick, live property update; the encoder route takes more setup but supports a configured production. The choice depends on whether the recorded tour and added production elements are useful to viewers.
- Recorded tour only: Play the prepared video through the encoder.
- Recorded tour with live host: Mix in Tamil narration, introduce locations, or respond to chat while the video plays.
- Quick live update: Consider YouTube’s mobile or webcam methods if you do not need a prepared, graphics-heavy production.
YouTube describes Live as real-time video with chat and other interaction. The platform documentation supports encoder streaming generally, but does not specifically name prerecorded property tours as a use case.

Confirm the channel can stream
YouTube’s current guidance, accessed in 2026, says a channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. Streamers must be at least 16. The broadcast must follow YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. Review YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility and setup guidance before scheduling.

Review the video and presentation
Check that the person or business controlling the footage has permission to show it. For a property tour, look for documents, access codes, or personal details that should not appear on air, and consider whether identifiable people have appropriate permission to be shown. These are prudent production checks, not legal advice; Indian property-disclosure law is not addressed here.
Plan whether the tour will play uninterrupted or include a live Tamil host. Prepare pronunciations, property names, locations, and any claims the presenter plans to make. Tamil is a presentation choice, not a YouTube live-streaming requirement. If you use captions or graphics, check them in the test feed; the cited platform guidance does not establish a Tamil-specific captioning feature.

Set up the YouTube broadcast and encoder
- Open YouTube Live Control Room and choose the encoder option. Create or select the broadcast for the event.
- Copy the stream details shown in Live Control Room into your encoder. Keep the stream key private; anyone with access to it may be able to send a feed to your channel.
- Configure the encoder to send the prepared tour, along with any live microphone or graphics you intend to use. YouTube’s developer guide distinguishes the viewer-facing broadcast from the incoming audio-video stream. Separate broadcasts can reuse stream settings while carrying distinct video content; see Understanding broadcasts and streams.
- Use the current settings displayed by YouTube and your encoder. YouTube’s standard encoder guidance lists RTMP or RTMPS, H.264, constant bitrate (CBR), and a recommended two-second keyframe interval that should not exceed four seconds. YouTube recommends RTMPS, the encrypted extension to RTMP. See YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions.
Choose a bitrate and test the stream
Choose a quality level your actual upload connection can sustain reliably. YouTube recommends testing upload speed and selecting a stable setting rather than choosing resolution for appearance alone. Its current H.264 recommendations list 10 Mbps for 1080p at 30 fps and 4 Mbps for 720p at 30 fps. These are encoder-ingest recommendations, not guarantees about what every viewer’s connection can play; YouTube transcodes incoming streams for different viewers and devices.

- Run a private or otherwise suitable test before the public event.
- Use representative footage with movement and audio, not only a static opening frame.
- Listen for clear Tamil narration over recorded sound, and check graphics and captions if used.
- Check YouTube’s stream-health indicators and any warnings. YouTube recommends testing with representative audio and video movement, then monitoring stream health during the event.
A separate USB microphone is optional if someone will narrate live. YouTube’s encoder material recognizes microphone hardware, but a separate microphone is not required by the cited guidance.
Start and operate the live event
- Start the encoder feed and confirm that Live Control Room is receiving it.
- Once the preview and stream health look right, begin the broadcast and start the tour or opening presentation.
- During the event, monitor stream health and viewer messages. If you are speaking live, leave room to answer relevant chat questions without losing track of the property presentation.
- When the presentation is over, end the broadcast in Live Control Room.
Keep the tour distinctive and policy-aware
A live wrapper does not, by itself, establish that prerecorded material qualifies for monetization. YouTube’s monetization rules can assess reused material and a channel as a whole. The official policy wording was not available in the reviewed sources, so check the current YouTube channel monetization policies before relying on monetization eligibility. Adding original Tamil commentary or meaningful educational context may make the presentation more distinctive, but it is not a guarantee of approval.

Separately, check that the video, music, narration, and graphics are suitable for the event and comply with YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. Do not assume that a video is cleared for broadcast merely because it has been uploaded or played before.
