To stream a looping Tibetan singing bowl meditation on YouTube Live, send either a live bowl performance or prerecorded audio and visuals from an encoder to YouTube’s Live Control Room. YouTube does not provide a special “looping meditation” mode: the loop is part of the content you supply to the encoder. Before you begin, confirm your channel is eligible, configure and test the stream, and make sure you have rights to every recording and visual.
Choose between playing live and looping a recording
“Looping” can mean two different things. In a live performance, you play the bowl while the broadcast is running. In prerecorded playback, an audio file or playlist is repeatedly sent to the encoder. The choice determines what equipment you need and whether the stream can run unattended.

Check YouTube Live eligibility and prepare the stream
YouTube’s current help guidance requires a verified channel, no live-streaming restriction during the preceding 90 days, and a streamer who is at least 16 years old. Check eligibility before preparing a long session; a restriction can prevent you from going live even if your encoder is configured correctly.

- Sign in to the YouTube channel that will host the meditation. Confirm that it is the intended channel and can access YouTube Live.
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room. Create or schedule a stream there, then configure its title, visibility, and other details for the audience you intend to reach.
- Connect your encoder using the stream URL and stream key shown in Live Control Room. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it, show it on screen, or share it with anyone who should not broadcast to your channel.
- Choose RTMPS when your encoder and YouTube’s connection details support it. YouTube recommends RTMPS for an encrypted connection.
YouTube supports more than one way to start a live stream. An encoder is suitable when you want to send a composed feed, such as bowl audio with a static or gently moving visual. The official encoder guidance does not require a particular meditation image or loop technique.
Set the encoder for stable audio and video
Use your encoder’s stream settings to match the feed you plan to send. For standard RTMP or RTMPS ingestion, YouTube lists H.264, H.265, or AV1 video and AAC or MP3 audio. YouTube recommends constant bitrate encoding and a two-second keyframe interval; the interval should not exceed four seconds.

These are YouTube’s stated encoder recommendations, not a guarantee that every encoder labels settings identically. If a setting is unavailable in your software, consult its documentation and prioritize matching the stream requirements shown in Live Control Room. For a meditation stream, test with the actual bowl recording or microphone and the visual motion you expect to use. Listen for clipping, distortion, abrupt cuts, or a level so low that the bowl is difficult to hear.

Test the signal before broadcasting
A stable-looking connection is not enough: you also need to confirm the correct audio source, visual, and stream destination. YouTube recommends leaving approximately 20% upload-bandwidth headroom beyond the stream bitrate.

- Check your available upload bandwidth. Compare it with the encoder’s outgoing bitrate and aim for about 20% headroom. If the connection cannot maintain that margin, reduce the stream bitrate or use a more reliable connection before starting.
- Start the encoder and inspect the preview in Live Control Room. Make sure the signal reaches the intended stream and that the picture is visible as expected.
- Listen to the preview. Confirm that the bowl is audible, the selected microphone or file is the right one, and no unintended desktop audio or background sound is being sent.
- Check the stream health indicators and monitor the broadcast. YouTube advises encoder users to prepare ahead, check the preview and accessibility, and monitor the event. Keep an eye on both audio/video quality and stream health while live.
Do not rely on a short test with different content if the actual recording contains long silences, louder strikes, or a different visual. Those details can expose problems that a generic test signal would not.
Clear rights to the recording and visuals
YouTube’s livestream terms make the channel owner responsible for having the rights needed to use live content worldwide, including music licensing rights. Check every element in the feed: the bowl performance or recording, background music, and any visual material.

- Visuals: Check rights to photographs, video loops, and artwork as carefully as you check audio rights.
A livestream may be archived and remain available after the live event, so consider whether your permissions cover that continued availability as well as the broadcast itself.
