To stream vacation rental tours continuously on YouTube Live, send a prerecorded video or repeating playlist through an encoder connected to a YouTube Live stream. YouTube provides the live-stream page and ingest settings; the encoder or playback workflow must do the repeating. Confirm that it can loop for the duration you need, since YouTube’s general encoder setup does not guarantee that every playlist repeats indefinitely.
Choose how the prerecorded tours will repeat
You need a playback workflow that keeps sending video to YouTube after one tour ends. A software encoder on a computer is one option; YouTube also lists dedicated hardware and other encoder products. Before you build the broadcast, verify that the specific encoder or player supports repeating your playlist for the intended duration. Do not assume that creating a YouTube Live stream makes a video loop by itself.
YouTube’s encoder directory lists the AJA HELO Plus with a PlayToStream feature for scheduling prerecorded media directly to YouTube Live without a computer. That listing does not establish indefinite playlist looping. Confirm the exact repeat behavior and current availability with the vendor before buying it for a perpetual loop.
If you use a computer-based encoder, the computer and its internet connection need to stay available while you broadcast. Any interruption to the encoder or network can break the feed, so test the complete playback and connection setup before relying on it.

Prepare the channel and tour footage
Check live-stream access
YouTube says a channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days to live stream. Check access before scheduling a broadcast: YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
Make a loop-ready playlist
Put the tour videos in the order you want viewers to see them, then check how the selected encoder handles the end of the playlist. Confirm whether it repeats automatically, what happens between videos, and whether the loop continues after a reconnect. Those behaviors depend on the chosen playback tool; they are not guaranteed by YouTube’s general encoder instructions.
Use tour footage and other material only when you have the necessary rights. That includes music, narration, images, and any third-party material in the videos. YouTube’s Livestream terms and conditions state that streamers represent and warrant they have the necessary worldwide rights, including music licensing rights.
Create the YouTube Live stream and connect the encoder

In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a live stream and choose the encoder-based streaming workflow. Keep the stream’s Live Control Room available for setup and monitoring.

Copy the stream URL and stream key from YouTube Studio into the corresponding fields in your encoder. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it or share it with anyone who should not be able to send video to your stream. See YouTube’s encoder setup guidance.
-
Configure the encoder to send a supported stream. YouTube recommends RTMPS, H.264 video, constant bitrate (CBR) encoding, and a two-second keyframe interval; do not set the keyframe interval above four seconds. Use YouTube’s current encoder settings, bitrate, and resolution guidance to select output settings appropriate to your footage and connection.
-
For a specific reference point, YouTube’s 720p at 30 fps table lists a video bitrate range of 2–6 Mbps. This is a video-bitrate recommendation for that resolution and frame rate, not a universal setting for every stream. Choose settings for the output you intend to send, and make sure your upload connection can sustain them.

Start the live broadcast from the encoder workflow and monitor the stream. Verify that the tour playlist advances and repeats as expected rather than assuming it will continue unattended.
Check upload capacity and monitor the broadcast
Use your internet connection’s upload capacity, not its download speed, to judge whether it can sustain the encoder’s output. YouTube recommends keeping 20% upload bandwidth headroom and checking continuity during a stream. A network disruption can break the broadcast. Its streaming tips explain network preparation and monitoring.
-
Test the whole path—playlist playback, encoder, internet connection, YouTube preview, and public watch page—before relying on the stream.

-
Have a recovery plan for a stopped feed: restore the encoder or connection, then confirm in Live Control Room that YouTube is receiving video again.
-
Keep a local copy of the tours and, if the broadcast recording matters, a separate local recording. YouTube recommends a backup rather than relying solely on its archive.
Protect the stream from copyright interruptions
YouTube scans live content for third-party matches. If it detects a match, it may replace the broadcast with a placeholder, interrupt it, or terminate it if the issue continues. A license does not necessarily prevent an interruption: the rights holder may need to add your channel to a Content ID allowlist. Review YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance and arrange any required permissions or allowlisting before going live.

Check every component of the tour videos, including background music and other included material. You are responsible for the rights needed to broadcast them; a video being available to you or licensed for another use does not by itself establish that it can be streamed live on YouTube.

Plan for long-stream archive and DVR limits
Do not treat YouTube’s archive as a guaranteed complete replay for a continuous broadcast. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, while streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. That is a platform limitation, not a guaranteed cutoff in every case. YouTube also says DVR rewind may be limited or unavailable for streams longer than 12 hours. Keep a local recording if you need a dependable replay. See YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance and DVR guidance.
Troubleshoot common loop problems
YouTube is not receiving a video feed
Check that the encoder has the correct stream URL and current stream key, is running, and is sending to the stream you created. In Live Control Room, confirm whether YouTube is receiving an incoming signal before starting the public broadcast.
The tour plays once and stops
The selected player may not repeat its playlist by default, or may not support indefinite repetition. Check the encoder’s playlist and repeat settings, then test beyond the end of one full playlist. YouTube’s general encoder setup does not add looping to a player that lacks it.
The stream drops or becomes unstable
Check outbound upload capacity and leave the 20% headroom YouTube recommends. Look for network interruptions, encoder stoppages, or output settings that exceed what the connection can sustain. Restore the encoder or network, then confirm the incoming feed in Live Control Room.
The broadcast is interrupted after a rights match
Identify the matched material and confirm that your permission covers live streaming on YouTube. If the rights holder requires it, ask them to allowlist your channel in Content ID. A license alone may not stop a live match from interrupting the feed.
The YouTube replay is missing or incomplete
A very long stream may not be captured, and DVR rewind may be limited or unavailable beyond 12 hours. Use a local recording for the replay you need instead of assuming YouTube will preserve the entire continuous broadcast.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a YouTube-only cloud service for keeping uploaded videos live around the clock. Upload the tour recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay powered on at home. It streams your upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot; it can automatically recover if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, and the monthly option is $9.99 per month. See StreamNeo for details, or start the free day.
