You can run a continuous Tibetan Buddhist mantra broadcast on YouTube by sending a prepared audio-and-visual program through YouTube Studio’s encoder workflow. First enable live streaming and clear the rights to every recording; then configure an encoder, test the feed as unlisted, and plan how to monitor and recover it. YouTube does not promise that one broadcast will stay live indefinitely, and its copyright-matching system can interrupt a stream—even when you have licensed the audio.

Before you begin: eligibility, audio rights and continuity

Confirm live-stream access

YouTube says a channel must be verified, have no live-stream restrictions in the previous 90 days, and be operated by someone at least 16 years old to livestream. Check the current requirements in YouTube’s live-streaming Help page. YouTube for Artists recommends enabling live access at least 24 hours before the planned first broadcast; that is a recommendation, not a guarantee that access will be ready by then. See YouTube for Artists’ live setup guidance.

Clear rights for every recording

YouTube Help states: “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” If a match remains, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. YouTube also warns: “If your channel isn’t added to their allowlist, your live stream can be interrupted even if you’ve licensed the third-party content.” Read YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.

Before broadcasting, obtain permission that covers continuous YouTube livestreaming for each mantra recording, including any instrumental arrangement, performance, or recording rights that apply. Ask the rights owner whether they use Content ID and, if so, have them add your channel to their allowlist. Do not assume that a recording being publicly available, described as royalty-free, or purchased for personal use is cleared for this broadcast. Keep written permissions and license terms accessible.

Plan for a stream that can fail

A 24/7 channel is an operational goal, not a YouTube guarantee that a single broadcast will remain live continuously. A local encoder depends on the computer, power, network, and encoder connection. Decide who will notice an outage and how the stream will be restarted before launch. YouTube’s official setup and API references explain the broadcast workflow and ingestion, not guaranteed continuous uptime.

Set up the YouTube encoder broadcast

  1. Prepare the program. Arrange the mantra audio and a suitable visual—such as an image or prepared video—for the broadcast. Check that the visual and audio are yours or cleared for the intended use. YouTube’s encoder approach supports prepared production elements and hardware such as preamps, microphones, and cameras; it does not prescribe a computer model or minimum specification. Choose equipment based on your encoder software, output resolution, and whether you need overlays or extra video sources.
  2. Create the live broadcast in YouTube Studio. Open YouTube Studio, use the live-stream creation or scheduling workflow, and choose the encoder option. YouTube’s labels and interface can change, so follow the current prompts in Studio and its live-streaming setup instructions.
  3. Copy the stream settings from Studio. Use the ingestion details and stream key shown for that broadcast in YouTube Studio, and enter them in your encoder. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it or share it with anyone who should not control the stream. YouTube’s Live Streaming API distinguishes the incoming stream from the viewer-facing broadcast and documents ingestion options including DASH, HLS, RTMP, and RTMPS; see the LiveStreams API reference and YouTube’s RTMPS ingestion guide. For a normal Studio encoder setup, use the settings YouTube supplies rather than guessing an endpoint or key.
  4. Configure and start the encoder. Select the prepared audio/visual program, enter YouTube’s stream details, and start sending the feed. Confirm in Studio that YouTube is receiving the encoder signal, then preview the broadcast before making it public. The exact encoder controls depend on the software or hardware you choose; YouTube’s cited guidance does not establish universal bitrate, resolution, or keyframe values for every encoder and channel.
  5. Run an unlisted rehearsal. Set a test broadcast to unlisted and check the picture, audio levels, synchronization, stability, and rights clearance from a viewer’s perspective. YouTube for Artists particularly recommends an unlisted test before a high-production or high-investment broadcast. Fix any problems before scheduling or switching the channel to public.
  6. Launch and monitor. Start the public broadcast only after the test succeeds. Monitor the outgoing encoder and the live preview, and have a responsible person ready to respond if the computer, power, network, or stream connection fails. If you archive the finished broadcast, YouTube says Content ID claims are made after the live stream ends; an archive is not a substitute for clearing rights before going live.

Keep the channel running day and night

For a self-hosted encoder, the machine sending the stream must remain powered and connected, and the internet connection must sustain the outgoing feed. A dedicated computer is an optional way to reserve resources for the encoder, not a YouTube requirement. Keep the program files backed up, protect the stream key, and decide how to restore the encoder and resume the broadcast after a failure. These are practical continuity measures, not guarantees of uninterrupted service.

A hosted encoder is another operational approach: the service runs the stream rather than a computer at home. Compare who maintains the machine, how outages are monitored and restarted, what control you retain over files and configuration, the connection requirements, and ongoing cost. YouTube documents how to send an encoder feed but does not endorse a 24/7 hosting provider or promise a particular provider’s uptime.

Or let it run in the cloud

StreamNeo is a YouTube-only cloud service for keeping an uploaded video or playlist live; it does not broadcast from a camera. Upload the recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. The cloud loops the program, so your computer and home connection do not have to stay on. Each slot streams the upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot; it includes 10 GB storage per slot, pooled across active slots, playlists, 24/7 looping, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and StreamNeo team support. The first day is free with no card, one free day per account. UPI and cards are supported in India; card checkout is available worldwide.

Troubleshooting a mantra livestream

  • YouTube Studio is not receiving a signal: Check that the encoder is running and that you copied the current ingestion details and stream key for the correct broadcast. Verify the machine’s internet connection and restart the encoder if needed.
  • The stream stops or is interrupted: Check the encoder, computer power, and network connection. If the interruption may be related to a Content ID match, review YouTube’s copyright guidance and contact the rights owner; a license alone may not prevent interruption if the channel is not allowlisted.
  • The rehearsal has no sound or a poor mix: Confirm that the encoder is sending the intended audio source, then listen to the unlisted preview at a comfortable volume and check for clipping, silence, or mismatched audio and picture before going public.
  • The broadcast works, but rights remain uncertain: Do not treat a successful test as proof of permission. Confirm that the license covers a continuous YouTube livestream and request Content ID allowlisting from the rights owner when applicable.
  • Live access is unavailable: Recheck channel verification, age eligibility, and any live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days. Follow YouTube’s current setup guidance; the recommended 24-hour lead time does not guarantee activation by a particular deadline.

Useful YouTube audience context

YouTube for Artists reported that, on average, over 30% of daily logged-in YouTube viewers watched live content in Q2 2025. That is general platform context for that period, not a forecast of viewers for a Tibetan Buddhist mantra channel.
