To stream a 24/7 Indian monsoon window ambience video on YouTube, prepare rain footage and audio you have rights to use, send it through an encoder to YouTube Live, and keep the encoder and a reliable internet connection running. First-time live activation can take up to 24 hours. For an around-the-clock feed, plan session boundaries too: YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived, but does not promise a complete archive for a longer uninterrupted stream.
Before you start: check channel access and prepare the feed
Confirm YouTube Live eligibility
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-stream restrictions in the preceding 90 days, and streamers must be at least 16. If this is your first live stream, activate the feature in advance: initial activation may take up to 24 hours.
Choose footage and sound
You can use original footage of rain on a window or make a prepared video loop; neither approach is a YouTube requirement. Decide whether the scene should remain visually static or include natural movement such as raindrops, passing clouds, or distant lightning. Use audio that matches the scene without clipping or abrupt jumps at the loop point.

Make sure you have rights to every visual and audio component for the public live transmission and any replay you intend to keep. Keep licenses and releases accessible. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content; a match can trigger a warning, replace your feed with a placeholder, interrupt the broadcast, or terminate it. Even when you hold a license, the rights owner may need to add your channel to a Content ID allowlist to avoid interruptions.

Do not rely on Creator Music for background music in this live stream: YouTube says its Creator Music tracks cannot be used in live streams.
Choose an encoder and connection that can stay up
YouTube supports software encoders and standalone hardware encoders. Either can send a prepared video feed, but neither is a guarantee against interruptions. For a 24/7 schedule, consider whether the chosen device, power supply, and internet connection can operate reliably and recover after a problem. The available evidence does not establish a particular encoder model as necessary or best for this use.

Set the output quality to suit your actual upload capacity. YouTube recommends matching quality to available upload bandwidth, testing before launch, and monitoring stream health. Its encoder guidance recommends RTMPS, the encrypted extension of RTMP. YouTube transcodes incoming video for playback on different devices, so test the actual result instead of assuming the encoder preview is what every viewer will see.
Create the YouTube live stream and connect the encoder
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room. Create or schedule a stream for the rain ambience feed.
- Copy the server URL and stream key shown for that stream. The key is effectively the encoder’s password; do not publish or share it. If it is exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- Open your software or hardware encoder’s streaming settings. Enter the YouTube server URL and stream key in the corresponding fields. Choose RTMPS when the encoder offers it, and set a resolution and bitrate the connection can sustain.
- Load the prepared video and audio. Confirm that playback loops as intended and that sound is present. The exact controls depend on the encoder you select.
- Start the encoder and inspect the preview in Live Control Room. Confirm the incoming picture and sound before starting the public broadcast in YouTube Studio.
YouTube’s guidance does not provide a single bitrate or resolution that is right for every connection. Choose settings according to your upload capacity and encoder, then verify the stream preview and health indicators with the real feed before relying on it.

Test the full feed, then monitor it
- Test representative rain motion and the actual audio mix, including the transition where the video loops.
- Check stream preview and playback on your channel or watch page, including on a mobile device.
- Verify that any local recording or archive you rely on is intact, and test your recovery or failover approach before launch.
- During the broadcast, keep checking audio, picture, and stream health rather than assuming that a successful start means the feed will stay healthy.
Plan around YouTube’s archive limit
YouTube’s encoder instructions say streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. They do not promise a complete archive for a single uninterrupted stream longer than 12 hours. If you want a replay for each day, schedule sessions that stay under that limit and start a new session as needed. Check current YouTube Studio behavior before depending on a particular archive arrangement.
Troubleshoot common interruptions
The stream will not start
Check that the channel is verified, has no live-stream restrictions in the preceding 90 days, and has completed first-time activation. If activation is still pending, it may take up to 24 hours. Confirm that the encoder has the correct server URL and current stream key.

The picture or sound is unstable
Compare the encoder’s output settings with the connection’s available upload capacity. Reduce the quality setting if the connection cannot sustain it, then test again. Check the actual audio and video in the preview and on a viewer-facing page.
YouTube warns about third-party content or interrupts the feed
Review the rights for each audio and visual element, including material in a prepared loop. A license may not by itself prevent Content ID interruption; ask the rights owner whether your channel needs to be allowlisted. Remove any material you cannot verify you may use in a live broadcast and replay.

Check the length of the live session. YouTube says sessions under 12 hours are automatically archived, but does not promise a complete archive for longer uninterrupted streams. Use shorter planned sessions if a complete replay is important.
