To stream a 24/7 crackling fireplace on YouTube, prepare a fireplace video with crackling audio you own or are licensed to use, send it to YouTube Live through an encoder, and monitor the stream. You can use software on a computer or a hardware encoder; YouTube does not promise uninterrupted 24/7 transmission, so plan for monitoring and restarts.
What you need before starting
- A YouTube channel with live streaming enabled. YouTube says the channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days. Check the current requirements in YouTube’s live streaming help.
- A prepared video of a fireplace and a crackling audio track, with music omitted. Use assets you created or have permission to use on YouTube Live and in any replay.
- An encoder: software running on a computer or a hardware device. A dedicated hardware encoder is optional; YouTube says, “You do not need expensive equipment, what you have at hand will do.”
- A reliable internet connection and time to test and monitor the feed. YouTube’s guidance does not guarantee continuous service for a 24-hour stream.
Prepare fireplace video and crackling audio
Use a recording you made yourself or one you have rights to use. “No music” describes the sound in the stream; it does not remove copyright or permission requirements for the fireplace footage or crackling recording. Keep licenses or other permission records, and confirm that they cover live streaming and any archived replay.
YouTube’s livestream terms say creators represent and warrant that they have the necessary rights to exploit live content on Google services worldwide, including applicable music licensing and other rights. Even if you have a license for third-party material, YouTube says the rights owner may need to allowlist your channel for the stream to avoid interruption.
Choose software or hardware encoding

Set up the YouTube Live stream
- Open YouTube Studio and enter Live Control Room. Start a stream setup and create a new stream or select one you have already configured. Follow YouTube’s current flow in encoder streaming setup.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key. Enter both in your encoder’s YouTube connection settings. Treat the stream key like a password: do not share it or publish it. If it is exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- Set the encoder’s video and audio input. Select the fireplace video and its crackling audio track, and check that the intended track contains no music. YouTube’s setup instructions cover connecting an encoder, but the appropriate encoding settings depend on your encoder and source; do not assume a setting that is not supported by your equipment.
- Start the encoder and check the preview. Confirm that the picture is moving as intended and that the crackling can be heard clearly without unwanted music or silence.
- Start the live stream in YouTube Studio. Watch the stream preview and health indicators as it begins. YouTube recommends testing and monitoring both audio and video quality.
- Monitor the stream while it runs. Check periodically for encoder failures, connection problems, audio or video issues, and notices in YouTube Studio. A 24/7 schedule needs a plan for responding to interruptions; YouTube does not promise an uninterrupted 24-hour transmission.
Copyright checks and interruptions
YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content. If it identifies material, YouTube may replace the stream with a placeholder image and warn you. If the material remains, the stream may be temporarily interrupted or terminated. This can affect fireplace footage or crackling audio as well as music.
If you receive a warning or the stream stops, check YouTube Studio for notices or strikes. Identify the matched material and resolve the rights issue before restarting. If the content is licensed, ask the rights owner whether they need to allowlist your channel; a license by itself may not prevent an interruption.

Plan for replays and long-running sessions
YouTube’s encoder instructions say streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. They do not support a promise that a 24-hour session will be automatically archived as one complete replay. If keeping a replay matters, plan around that limit rather than assuming the full day will be available as a single archive.
