To keep a 24/7 chakra meditation playlist visible on YouTube, send YouTube a continuous audio-and-video feed from an encoder, check the Live Control Room preview before going live, and monitor the stream while it runs. A black screen can come from a failed source or encoder, a connection problem, or YouTube copyright enforcement; a calm visual still needs to be valid video, and music must be cleared for livestream use.

What you need before starting

  • A YouTube channel with live streaming enabled. YouTube says the channel must be verified and must not have had a live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days. Check the current requirements in YouTube’s encoder setup guide.
  • An encoder that can continuously send your playlist as a live audio/video feed. You can use software on a computer or a dedicated hardware encoder; hardware is not mandatory for every setup.
  • The stream URL and stream key from YouTube Live Control Room. The key connects your encoder to your broadcast and should be kept private.
  • Music and visuals you have the rights to use in a YouTube livestream and any resulting replay.
  • A stable internet connection with upload capacity above the total bitrate of the stream.
  • A local recording plan if you need a complete archive of the broadcast.

YouTube’s encoder workflow is to enter the Live server URL and stream key in the encoder, then send the feed and inspect its preview. See Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.

Set up the playlist and start the livestream

  1. Enable live streaming and prepare the broadcast. In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or schedule the stream. Allow time before the intended start to configure and test it.
  2. Prepare a continuous audio/video source. Load the chakra meditation playlist into an encoder that can keep sending it. The visual may be a still or minimal animation, but the encoder must output valid video along with audio; audio-only playback does not prove that the video feed is working. YouTube does not prescribe a specific visual design or guarantee that a particular loop will avoid a blank output.
  3. Copy the connection details. In Live Control Room, copy the stream URL and stream key into the corresponding encoder fields. Treat the key as a password: do not publish or share it. If you replace or reset the key in YouTube, update the encoder to match.
  4. Start the encoder before publishing. Give YouTube time to receive the signal. Check the actual Live Control Room preview for both picture and sound, and confirm the source is advancing or looping as expected.
  5. Go live only after checking the preview. Confirm the public watch page works and, if practical, check access from a mobile device. Keep the Live Control Room open to monitor stream health and audio/video quality.
  6. Plan for recovery and recording. For an unattended broadcast, arrange a way to detect a frozen or blank output and restart the source, encoder, or network connection. This is an operational safeguard, not a YouTube-documented automatic watchdog. Test any failover you configure before relying on it. Record locally if the full 24-hour cycle or longer archive matters.

Keep the connection stable

YouTube recommends approximately 20% upload-bandwidth headroom above the stream bitrate. For example, if the outgoing stream uses 5 Mbps, plan for about 6 Mbps of available upload capacity for that feed. Count primary and backup feeds if they run at the same time, and remember that other devices and applications also consume bandwidth. This is YouTube’s operational guidance, not a guarantee against interruptions. See YouTube’s streaming tips.

  • Use a reliable wired connection where possible and reduce competing uploads or network traffic.
  • Check the encoder’s output and YouTube’s stream-health indicators during the broadcast.
  • If the connection or source can fail while nobody is present, decide in advance how you will detect it and restore the feed. A continuous playlist does not by itself ensure continuous delivery to YouTube.

Diagnose a black screen or interruption

What you see What to check What to do
A placeholder image appears, or the broadcast stops abruptly YouTube Studio notices and copyright status YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches. Review the notice and resolve the rights issue; a placeholder may replace the stream, and continued use of the matched content can lead to interruption or termination. See Copyright issues with live streams.
Licensed music is still interrupted Whether the rights holder has allowlisted your channel through Content ID Ask the rights owner about allowlisting. YouTube says a license alone may not prevent interruption if the channel is not on the allowlist.
The encoder will not connect or start The current stream key and server URL in Live Control Room Confirm that the encoder has the current values and update them if the key was changed. YouTube lists creating a new stream key as a troubleshooting step for third-party encoder startup errors. See Troubleshoot your YouTube live stream.
The stream is marked live, but picture or sound is missing The Live Control Room preview, encoder output, playlist/source playback, and stream-health status Check each point in the signal path rather than assuming one specific cause. YouTube’s live-stream tips recommend checking audio and video quality and monitoring stream health. See YouTube live streaming tips.
Repeated dropouts or a broken stream Available upload bandwidth, network stability, and competing traffic Restore the recommended bandwidth headroom, reduce other network use, and check whether the encoder can reconnect. A network disruption can break the stream.

Clear music and visuals for livestream use

YouTube’s livestream terms require you to have the rights needed to use the live content, including music licensing rights. Do not assume that music described as “chakra,” “meditation,” or “royalty-free,” or music playable on another service, is cleared for a YouTube livestream and its archived replay. Check the actual license scope with the rights owner, including whether livestreaming and replay are covered and whether Content ID allowlisting is required. See YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions and Copyright issues with live streams.

Plan the archive and monetization separately

Do not rely on YouTube to archive a 24/7 session

YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, but streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured. A 24/7 broadcast exceeds that threshold, so use a local recording if preserving the full stream is important. See Archive live streams.

A loop is not a monetization guarantee

YouTube’s monetization policy addresses repetitive or mass-produced content under its inauthentic-content rules. Its reused-content policy considers whether a channel adds significant original commentary, substantive modifications, or educational or entertainment value, and YouTube evaluates the channel as a whole. A looped meditation playlist warrants an originality review, but that policy does not establish that every meditation livestream is ineligible. See YouTube channel monetization policies.

Choose an operating setup that fits your channel

Decision What it means
Software encoder on an existing computer Uses a computer you already have to send the playlist. You need to keep the computer, source playback, and connection running and monitor failures.
Dedicated hardware encoder A separate encoder is an option if you do not have a suitable computer or need a higher-production setup. YouTube describes both software encoding and professional-grade hardware encoders; dedicated hardware is not required for every creator.
Direct encoder feed A single encoder and network path are simpler, but a failure in that path can interrupt the stream.
Backup encoder or network Can provide an alternate path if configured, but it adds setup complexity. Test the failover before relying on it.
YouTube archive only Not dependable as the sole archive plan for a stream longer than 12 hours, which may not be captured.
Local recording Provides a separate copy for your archive; plan storage and confirm recording is enabled and working.
