You can run a continuous Tamil-language birds-and-forest-sounds broadcast on YouTube by preparing a rights-cleared audio-and-video feed, sending it through a live encoder, and monitoring the stream for as long as you intend to broadcast. First confirm that your channel is eligible to livestream. A “24/7” schedule is an aim, not a guarantee that your computer, connection, or YouTube broadcast will never stop.

1. Confirm your YouTube channel can livestream

YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days; streamers must also be at least 16. Check the current eligibility and setup instructions in YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming. If you have not enabled livestreaming before, allow time for YouTube’s activation process before planning a launch.

Review the current YouTube policies and any restrictions on your channel before choosing a broadcast schedule. Tamil titles, descriptions, captions, on-screen messages, and chat moderation are editorial decisions for the audience you want to reach; YouTube’s published guidance does not specify different technical requirements for Tamil.

2. Choose audio and visuals you have permission to use

Decide whether you will use existing audio files that you are authorized to rebroadcast or record your own ambience. The same rights check applies to forest footage, photographs, animations, and any other visuals in the feed. Online availability does not itself grant permission to rebroadcast a recording or image. Check the license and its conditions for each asset, and confirm local recording permissions with the authority responsible for the specific location.

Use existing recordings

This is the simplest route if you already have suitable files and can verify that their license permits continuous public streaming. Keep a record of the source and license for each audio and visual asset. Do not assume that a recording is cleared just because it is described as “free” or is easy to download.

Record your own forest ambience

Original field recordings can give the channel a distinctive sound. A portable recorder or stereo microphone is optional; YouTube’s encoder guidance mentions microphones and preamps as possible equipment, but it does not recommend a specific recorder or require dedicated recording gear. If you use existing rights-cleared audio, you do not need to buy field-recording equipment.

3. Assemble the continuous audiovisual feed

Use a live encoder to send a designed feed to YouTube. YouTube describes encoder streaming as a method that can accommodate a prepared audiovisual layout and equipment such as microphones and preamps. Your feed might combine a static forest image or permitted video loop with a continuous birdsong track. Check that the sound plays continuously and at a consistent level, and that the visual does not expose material you lack permission to use.

A software encoder running on a computer is one way to do this. The computer, encoder, feed source, power, and internet connection need to remain available for the intended broadcast. The cited YouTube guidance does not establish a minimum computer specification, so choose equipment based on the encoder and feed you actually use rather than assuming a particular model is required.

4. Configure the encoder for your connection

In YouTube Studio, create or schedule the live stream and follow the on-screen instructions to connect your encoder using the stream key. Treat the stream key as a password: do not publish it or share it with anyone who should not be able to broadcast to your channel. The exact Studio labels can change, so use the current interface and encoder instructions rather than relying on an old screenshot.

Before choosing a quality, test the sustained upload connection from the place where the encoder will run. Use representative audio and motion during a test, then check YouTube’s stream-health feedback. Select a resolution and frame rate your connection can sustain with margin; a short speed test alone does not establish that a connection will remain stable over a long broadcast.

YouTube’s published encoder settings

YouTube’s current encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions page lists RTMP/RTMPS ingestion, H.264, H.265/HEVC, or AV1 video, up to 60 fps, AAC or MP3 audio, and constant bitrate (CBR). It recommends a two-second keyframe interval and says not to exceed four seconds. Recheck the live settings page when configuring your encoder because YouTube may update its recommendations.

Example video setting YouTube’s listed H.264 bitrate recommendation How to use it
240p–720p at 30 fps 4 Mbps Consider this range if it suits your visuals and your upload connection can sustain it.
1080p at 30 fps 10 Mbps Use this only if your connection reliably supports the sustained upload and the added detail is useful for your layout.

These are YouTube’s published recommendations, not a requirement that a birdsong channel use a particular resolution. Match quality to the visual design, network stability, and the devices you expect viewers to use. The advanced HLS ingestion documentation is aimed at encoder vendors and integrations; ordinary encoder streaming does not require you to set up HLS yourself.

5. Test the real broadcast before leaving it unattended

  1. Run a test feed. Use the intended audio, visuals, resolution, frame rate, bitrate, and physical network connection.
  2. Check sound and picture. Listen for gaps, clipping, abrupt loop transitions, or an unexpectedly loud section. Confirm the picture is stable and the layout is readable.
  3. Watch stream health. Check YouTube’s live control room for warnings or poor stream health, and adjust the encoder or quality if the connection cannot sustain the chosen settings.
  4. Confirm the key and destination. Make sure the encoder is using the correct YouTube stream key and that the broadcast appears on the intended channel.
  5. Plan monitoring and recovery. Decide who can check the encoder, computer, power, and internet connection during the intended broadcast. A continuous schedule does not make those systems fail-proof.

6. Keep the broadcast running—and understand its limits

For a local encoder setup, leave the encoder and the feed source running for the intended duration, with the computer connected to power and a reliable network. Monitor YouTube’s stream-health status and be prepared to reconnect if the encoder, power, internet service, or platform interrupts the broadcast. Google’s YouTube Live Streaming API guide documents a 24/7 live-feed pattern and an additional broadcast bound to the same stream. That describes a technical arrangement; it does not promise uninterrupted availability for a particular channel.

Optional: add a vertical presentation

YouTube’s current live-streaming guidance describes horizontal and vertical presentation under supported setups. A vertical version is optional for a static nature-ambience channel and may require a separate layout. YouTube says the vertical format cannot be added after a stream has started, so decide before going live if you want to use it.

Or let it run in the cloud

If you would rather not keep a home computer and connection running, StreamNeo keeps an uploaded-video YouTube stream looping in the cloud. The setup is: upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It plays uploaded videos rather than broadcasting from a camera, and it streams to YouTube only.
