You can stream Tamil movie songs live at 4K (2160p) and 60 fps if your encoder, source, and sustained internet upload can support YouTube’s ingest settings. For 4K60, YouTube recommends 35 Mbps for AV1 or H.265/HEVC, or 50 Mbps for H.264. But technical setup is only half the job: you need permission for each recording and any film footage, plus Content ID allowlisting from the relevant rights holder before broadcasting. A license alone may not stop YouTube from interrupting an unallowlisted stream.
What you need for a continuous 4K60 broadcast
A continuous stream needs a source that can play for the intended duration, an encoder that sends a supported 4K60 signal, stable upload capacity, and an authorized song-and-video catalog. YouTube supports live video over RTMP or RTMPS using H.264, H.265/HEVC, or AV1. It transcodes the incoming feed into formats for viewers on different devices and connections, but that does not make an unstable ingest connection reliable.
- A verified YouTube channel with live streaming enabled and no live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days.
- A compatible software or hardware encoder and a source configured for 3840 × 2160 at 60 fps.
- Sustained upload capacity appropriate for the selected codec and bitrate, with headroom for network variation.
- Documented rights for every recording and any accompanying film footage, and confirmation that the rights holder has allowlisted your channel in Content ID.
YouTube says first-time live-stream enablement can take up to 24 hours. Enable it and check channel eligibility well before the planned broadcast.

Choose an encoder and source workflow
Software encoder
YouTube lists OBS as a free, open-source software option. It can be suitable for a computer-based workflow, but the computer must remain powered, connected, and able to encode and send the stream for the entire broadcast. Confirm the version and hardware you use can sustain your chosen 4K60 codec and bitrate; no particular computer configuration is guaranteed by YouTube’s general settings guidance.

Professional hardware encoder
YouTube also lists professional hardware encoders. Its setup guidance identifies the Osprey Video Talon as supporting inputs up to true 4K and feeds up to 4K60p over IP. Confirm the exact model configuration, current availability, and compatibility with your source and chosen codec before purchase. A hardware encoder does not provide music or film rights.
Plan the continuous source
For a song rotation, prepare the playback sequence and check that the source can run it for the full planned duration without gaps, unintended transitions, or interruption. A playlist, live-switching production, and dedicated broadcast setup have different operating needs; choose the workflow that matches your source and monitoring capacity. Test the actual sequence, including audio and movement, rather than assuming a still image or short sample represents the broadcast.

| Video codec | Minimum bitrate shown | Recommended bitrate |
|---|---|---|
| AV1 or H.265/HEVC | 10 Mbps | 35 Mbps |
| H.264 | 14 Mbps | 50 Mbps |
These are YouTube’s published ingest figures, not a guarantee that your connection will sustain an uninterrupted stream. Test your real upload connection and use a representative pre-event test before scheduling a long broadcast.
Encoder settings checklist
- Resolution and frame rate: 3840 × 2160 progressive at 60 fps.
- Protocol: RTMPS where available; YouTube recommends this secure extension to RTMP.
- Codec: AV1, H.265/HEVC, or H.264, using the corresponding recommended bitrate above.
- Rate control: CBR.
- Keyframes: two-second interval recommended; do not exceed four seconds.
- Scan and pixels: progressive scan and square pixels.
- Color for SDR: Rec. 709.
- Audio: AAC or MP3; YouTube’s published advanced settings specify stereo, 44.1 kHz and 128 Kbps.
At 4K, YouTube uses normal latency; its low-latency optimization is unavailable. Choose the settings in your encoder that match the values above, then verify the signal YouTube receives in Live Control Room.
Create, test, and start the live stream
- Check eligibility: In YouTube Studio, confirm that live streaming is enabled for the verified channel and that there is no restriction from the previous 90 days. Allow up to 24 hours for first-time enablement.
- Create or schedule the event: Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room and create or schedule the stream. Set the title, audience and visibility appropriate to the event.
- Get the ingest details: Copy the stream URL and stream key from the event’s encoder settings into your encoder. The key is a credential that directs the encoder to your stream; keep it private and reset it if exposed.
- Configure the encoder: Set the source to 3840 × 2160 at 60 fps, select a supported codec and its bitrate target, then apply the protocol, CBR, keyframe, color and audio settings above.
- Run a representative test: Send a test with audio and movement similar to the planned broadcast. Check the incoming preview, audio/video synchronization, stability, and stream-health messages before going public.
- Go live and monitor: During the event, watch Live Control Room’s stream health and confirm the picture and sound remain correct. YouTube also recommends checking access from channel or watch pages and mobile devices.
- Decide whether to enable DVR: If enabled, DVR lets viewers pause, rewind and resume the live stream. Consider whether that experience fits the event.
For a long-running event, monitoring matters: an encoder or connection can fail even when the initial preview looks good. YouTube’s live-stream guidance recommends testing with representative audio and movement before starting.

Get rights and Content ID allowlisting before playing songs
Being able to send a song to YouTube is not permission to rebroadcast it. Tamil film songs can involve rights in the specific sound recording and in accompanying film footage. Confirm the permissions for every intended recording, the territory and term covered, and the use of the content in a continuous live broadcast with the relevant rights holders.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches. A match may replace the stream with a placeholder and trigger a warning; if the matched content remains, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the broadcast. YouTube instructs licensees to ask the rights owner to add the channel to its Content ID allowlist. Without allowlisting, a live stream can still be interrupted even if you have a license or limit viewing to territories where you hold rights.
If you choose to archive the live stream, YouTube says Content ID claims on archived live streams are made after the stream ends. That timing does not prevent an interruption while the live broadcast is being scanned. Public availability on YouTube, a consumer music subscription, or owning a copy of a song does not establish rebroadcast rights.

Troubleshoot common 4K60 stream problems
YouTube does not show an incoming preview
- Check that the encoder is sending to the URL and key for the intended Live Control Room event.
- Confirm the key was copied correctly and has not been exposed or replaced.
- Verify that the encoder is outputting a supported codec and a signal YouTube can ingest.
The stream health warning reports unstable ingest
- Run a speed test and compare sustained upload capacity with the selected recommended bitrate: 35 Mbps for AV1/H.265 or 50 Mbps for H.264 at 4K60.
- Check whether other network activity is competing with the stream, then repeat a representative test.
- If the connection cannot sustain the 4K60 target reliably, do not treat a successful brief preview as proof that a long broadcast will hold. Reassess the connection or the planned output settings before going live.
Video appears choppy or audio and video drift apart
- Check that the source and encoder both use 3840 × 2160 at 60 fps and that the encoder is not overloaded.
- Confirm CBR and the recommended two-second keyframe interval, and check the incoming preview and stream-health messages.
- Test with representative audio and movement; verify synchronization before the public event.
The live stream is interrupted after songs begin
- Review Live Control Room warnings for a third-party content match.
- Pause or remove the matched material as appropriate; contact the relevant rights holder to resolve permissions and ask for Content ID allowlisting.
- Do not assume a license, geographic restriction, or later archive claim timing prevents live enforcement.
First-time streaming is unavailable
Check channel verification and restrictions, and allow up to 24 hours for initial live-stream enablement. If it remains unavailable, review the channel’s Live Control Room status before the event.
