You can run a continuous, radio-style YouTube channel for Odia devotional music by preparing a cleared music catalog, enabling live streaming in advance, and sending a looping audio-video feed through an encoder. First test it as an unlisted broadcast. A 24/7 schedule is an operating goal, not a guarantee: YouTube scans live streams for third-party content and may interrupt or terminate a stream.
1. Clear the music before building the stream
Being devotional, traditional, or already available on YouTube does not by itself make a song or recording free to rebroadcast. Rights can differ by composition, recording, territory, and use. Check each track for the specific territories where you plan to stream and whether permission covers both the live broadcast and any saved replay. This is a practical checklist, not jurisdiction-specific legal advice.
Build a rights ledger
Before programming a playlist, record the following for every track:
- Song title and composition writer or publisher.
- Owner of the particular recording, such as a label or other rights holder.
- Territories covered and the duration of permission.
- Whether live streaming is permitted.
- Whether saving and making an archive or VOD available is permitted.
- Whether the rights owner has confirmed that your channel is on its Content ID allowlist.
Content ID is YouTube’s system for identifying matched third-party material. An allowlist is the rights owner’s permission-based exception for a specified channel in that system. If you use licensed music, ask the owner to add your channel to its allowlist and keep written confirmation along with the license. YouTube says a live stream may still be interrupted without allowlisting, even if you hold rights in the territories where viewers can watch. YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams explains the scanning and interruption process.

If you use copyright-protected music, YouTube for Artists recommends coordinating with the label or distributor. Its guidance for music channels going live also advises creators to verify the account, enable live streaming at least 24 hours before the first planned broadcast, and test an unlisted stream. Do not treat Creator Music as a shortcut for this use: YouTube’s Creator Music FAQ says it does not currently support licensing for live content.
2. Enable YouTube live streaming and test before launch
- Verify the channel and enable live streaming. Complete YouTube’s channel and live-streaming setup well ahead of your planned start; YouTube for Artists recommends enabling it at least 24 hours beforehand.
- Prepare a broadcast in YouTube Studio. Set the title, description, visibility, and other details for the event viewers will watch. Use the stream settings provided by YouTube Studio to connect your encoder. Most creators can do this without building an API integration.
- Run an unlisted end-to-end test. Check that the encoder connects, audio is present and continuous, the visuals behave as intended, the stream title and description are right, and the YouTube live dashboard reports a healthy feed. Listen for gaps, clipping, or abrupt changes between tracks.
- Start the public broadcast only after the test passes. Keep the test unlisted so you can catch setup problems before directing listeners to the channel.
In YouTube’s technical model, the broadcast is the event viewers watch; the stream is the incoming audio-video feed. That distinction matters when diagnosing a problem: an event can exist in Studio while the encoder’s feed is disconnected or unhealthy. The YouTube Live Streaming API overview describes how these resources relate.

3. Send a continuous feed from an encoder
An encoder takes your audio and video, prepares them for live delivery, and sends the feed to YouTube. For a radio-style channel, assemble a continuous playlist of recordings and a visual element—such as a still image or other appropriate loop—then keep the encoder sending that output. YouTube Studio supplies the connection details, including the ingest address and stream name or key. Treat the stream key as a credential: do not publish it or share it with people who should not be able to broadcast to your channel.
YouTube’s technical documentation lists RTMP (including RTMPS), DASH, and HLS as ingestion protocol values. The exact options available depend on the workflow you choose; most creators should use the connection details and compatible encoder settings shown in Studio rather than attempting to configure the Live Streaming API. See the LiveStreams API documentation for protocol and stream-resource details.

Managed and work-issued computers can block new USB audio devices by policy - check with your IT department before ordering for a company machine.

Choose an operating setup
A computer running an encoder is one way to produce an always-on feed. Match the computer to the selected encoder’s requirements and the audio-video format you intend to send. The available YouTube guidance does not establish a required computer specification or endorse a particular model. A dedicated hardware encoder is another possible setup; whichever device you use must stay powered, connected, and able to deliver the feed.
A continuous playlist also needs operational attention. Arrange the audio and visuals so the output does not unexpectedly end when a file finishes, and test the transitions. Do not assume that a playlist alone restarts a disconnected encoder or restores a lost network connection.

4. Monitor the broadcast and plan for interruptions
After launch, watch the YouTube live dashboard and stream-health status. The API documentation identifies health issues including low video bitrate, frame-rate mismatch, and missing audio. A healthy-looking playlist does not prove that viewers are receiving a healthy live feed.
- Audio disappears: Check the source playlist, encoder audio input and output, and the YouTube health warning.
- The feed disconnects: Check encoder status, power, and network connectivity; restore the encoder connection and verify the feed in the dashboard.
- YouTube reports a stream-health problem: Compare the warning with the encoder’s output configuration and delivery conditions. Correct the reported issue, then confirm that the dashboard recovers.
- A copyright warning or interruption appears: Follow YouTube’s notice and review the track against your rights ledger. Contact the rights owner about allowlisting if you have a license; permission without operational allowlisting may not prevent an automated interruption.
YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party material, including another live broadcast. A match can lead to a placeholder image, warning, temporary interruption, or termination if the material continues. No setup should be presented as guaranteed uninterrupted 24/7 service. Have a person or a dependable operations plan ready to respond to audio, encoder, power, network, and rights problems.

5. Decide whether to keep an archive
An archive or VOD is the saved replay of the live broadcast. Decide before launch whether you want to retain one, and confirm your permissions cover that saved use as well as the live transmission. YouTube says Content ID claims on archived live streams are made after the stream ends if the creator chooses to archive it. A license for live use should not be assumed to include replay rights.
Or let it run in the cloud
If you would rather not keep a computer and home connection running, StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live with uploaded videos. Upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo loops the uploaded videos from the cloud; it does not broadcast a camera feed.
- Nothing has to stay on at home while the stream runs.
- Videos stream as uploaded, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot—there are no quality tiers or re-encoding.
- StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream.
- The first day is free with no card required, one free day per account.
The monthly plan is $9.99 per month. One slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB storage pooled across active slots, looping and playlists, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and support from the StreamNeo team. The product is the same across plans; only the billing period changes. UPI and cards are available in India; card checkout is available worldwide. For five or more slots, contact support. StreamNeo streams to YouTube only, and cloud operation does not replace your responsibility to clear music rights or handle YouTube copyright notices.
