The technical setup is straightforward; getting permission for every recording and composition is the essential first step.
What you need before starting
- A YouTube channel eligible to live stream. YouTube for Artists advises enabling live streaming and verifying the account at least 24 hours before the first planned broadcast. See YouTube for Artists’ guidance for music channels.
- A catalogue of Hindi songs and recordings cleared for the specific use you plan: continuous live broadcast, intended territories, and any monetization or archived replay.
- A cloud playout service that supports uploaded media, playlists or looping, and a YouTube live destination.
- A private test and a plan for checking the stream after launch.
A song’s availability on YouTube, a music subscription, or possession of a CD or download does not by itself grant permission to rebroadcast it as a continuous live stream.
Clear rights for every song before you build the playlist
Hindi retro tracks can involve separate rights in the composition and the particular sound recording. Confirm permission for the exact recording and the musical work, and make sure it covers live streaming on YouTube, the territories you intend to reach, the planned duration, and monetization if applicable. If you plan to leave an archive or replay available, confirm that use too.
YouTube says live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in another live broadcast. A match can lead to a placeholder, warning, interruption, or termination. YouTube also notes that even a licensed stream may be interrupted if the rights owner has not added the channel to its Content ID allowlist. Ask the owner or distributor whether allowlisting is needed and confirm it before launch. Read YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance.

Keep a track-by-track rights record, including the recording, composition, permission source, territories, permitted uses, and any allowlisting confirmation. The available guidance does not establish clearance for any particular Hindi retro song, so do not treat a track as cleared without confirmation for that exact use.
Set up the 24/7 stream without OBS
- Enable YouTube live streaming in advance. Verify the account and enable live streaming at least 24 hours before the first planned broadcast, as advised by YouTube for Artists. Do not leave channel eligibility checks until launch day.
- Choose a cloud playout service. Check its current supported file formats, playlist and looping behavior, limits on file size or stream duration, how changes to a running playlist work, reconnection behavior, alerts, archive handling, YouTube connection method, and full current cost. Provider descriptions explain their own workflows but are not independent reliability audits. Examples include Upstream’s no-OBS YouTube radio walkthrough and 247 LiveStream; verify their current features and terms directly.
- Upload only cleared media. Add the authorized recordings and any visuals you have permission to use. Build a playlist that can continue looping; check its order and confirm what the service does when it reaches the end or encounters a file it cannot play.
- Connect the YouTube destination. Follow the service’s current setup. If it asks for a stream key, copy the key from YouTube Studio and enter it only in the service’s secure destination settings. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it, share it, or include it in screenshots. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the service.
- Test privately from end to end. Before a public launch, test the actual playlist, destination, audio and visuals as a private stream in YouTube Studio. Google’s Live Streaming Guide recommends testing the complete setup privately. Confirm that YouTube receives the feed and that it plays as expected.
- Launch and monitor. Start the cloud stream, confirm that YouTube shows it live, and check for copyright notices, warnings, or interruptions. Arrange for a person to check the channel and respond if YouTube restricts the broadcast. Keep local originals of your media and rights records.
Cloud playout or an always-on computer?
For a setup specifically without OBS and a computer left running, cloud playout is the direct fit: the playlist is delivered from a remote service. An encoder on an always-on computer is a different operating model and requires that machine and its internet connection to remain available. Whichever service you consider, compare the practical details rather than assuming that every provider handles them the same way.

YouTube does not show the stream as live
Check that live streaming was enabled in advance, the service is connected to the intended YouTube channel, and the stream key is current and entered correctly. Review the service’s connection status and YouTube Studio for a warning or setup error; replace an exposed or outdated key.

The broadcast is interrupted or replaced by a placeholder
Check YouTube Studio for a copyright notice or restriction. A cloud service can keep delivering its feed, but it cannot resolve a rights claim or platform action. Contact the rights owner or distributor to confirm the license and any required Content ID allowlisting before restarting.
A song or visual does not play as expected
Check the uploaded file against the service’s current media requirements, then test that item in a private broadcast. Confirm the playlist order and looping behavior rather than assuming the service will handle an unsupported file or empty playlist gracefully.

The stream is live, but no one is monitoring it
Assign a person to check YouTube Studio and the public stream on a schedule, watch for warnings or interruptions, and know whom to contact about rights. Automation covers media delivery, not copyright compliance or YouTube’s decisions.
