Check YouTube Live Control Room’s auto-start and auto-stop settings, but don’t mistake them for a control over Gyre’s disconnect-restart behavior. Gyre describes automatic stream restarting as part of its service, while its public documentation reviewed here does not confirm a setting to disable it. If no restart control appears in your Gyre stream settings, contact Gyre support to ask whether one is available for your account and setup.
First, identify how Gyre is connected to YouTube
The right settings to check depend on whether you created the broadcast in YouTube Studio or authorized Gyre to manage your YouTube channel. Gyre describes different broadcast-lifecycle handling for these two workflows: its authorized workflow lets Gyre manage the lifecycle, while manual setup uses YouTube Studio settings alongside Gyre’s stream setup. Gyre’s product information describes cloud automation and automatic stream restarting; its public help material does not establish that users can turn that behavior off.

- Manual YouTube setup: You created the broadcast in YouTube Studio and connected Gyre using a stream key.
- YouTube authorization: You connected your channel through Gyre, which says it manages the broadcast lifecycle in this workflow.
If you are unsure, check how the stream was initially configured in Gyre and YouTube Studio. Tell Gyre support which method you used when asking about restart behavior.

- Open YouTube Studio, then go to Live Control Room.
- Open the stream’s settings and review Auto-start and Auto-stop.
- If you create a broadcast using Reuse settings, verify those options on the new stream too. YouTube says Reuse settings copies the auto-start and auto-stop selections.
YouTube explains these controls as ways for an encoder to start or stop streaming. They do not appear in the public documentation as a switch for Gyre’s own policy when a connection drops. You can review YouTube’s explanation in its Auto-start and auto-stop settings guidance.
If you use Gyre’s manual stream-key setup
Gyre’s published setup guide recommends enabling YouTube auto-start for automatic starting and says you can enable auto-stop if the stream should end after the video finishes. Those settings cover encoder start and stop behavior; the guide does not say they disable Gyre’s restart behavior after a disconnect. Review the settings for the relevant YouTube broadcast and your Gyre stream, but do not expect changing auto-start or auto-stop alone to prevent a restart.
For Gyre’s setup instructions, see its YouTube 24/7 stream setup guide.

If you want the stream to end at a planned time
A planned end is different from preventing an unexpected reconnect. Gyre documents scheduled start and end times through its Streams Scheduler and says the relevant YouTube auto-start and auto-end options are enabled during stream setup. Scheduler availability may depend on your plan. Check Gyre’s Streams Scheduler instructions for the current workflow and plan availability.
If the stream continues restarting
- Stop the stream in Gyre if you need to halt its current activity.
- Check the YouTube broadcast in Live Control Room and note its status after the disconnect.
- Look in the current Gyre stream settings for a control specifically related to restarting or reconnecting. Public help material reviewed does not confirm that such a control exists, so absence from the documentation is not proof that your account lacks one.
- Contact Gyre support if you cannot find a relevant setting. Include the setup method (manual stream key or YouTube authorization), the time of the disconnect, and what YouTube showed afterward. Gyre’s setup guidance directs users experiencing problems to its support service.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is to keep prerecorded videos looping on YouTube without relying on a home computer, StreamNeo is a separate cloud service to consider. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; uploaded video streams as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot; StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream; and the first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. Start your free day with StreamNeo.
