To start a run in Ghost of Yōtei: Most Wanted, select a bounty from the bounty board. If the mode is missing, first confirm you have access to the required edition or upgrade and that the game has the applicable update installed.
Check that you have access to Most Wanted
Most Wanted is included with Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition. Players who already own the original game can also access it through the Complete Edition Upgrade announced by PlayStation. The US PlayStation Store listing identifies the Complete Edition as a PS5 product: Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition.

The mode and the Echoes of Sekigahara expansion arrived in patch v2.0 on October 1, 2026 globally, with October 2 availability in some territories, including parts of Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. If you have the appropriate edition or upgrade but cannot find the mode, check whether the update is installed and consult the current store listing for your region. These are access checks based on PlayStation’s edition and update details, not account-specific troubleshooting steps. PlayStation.Blog’s announcement describes the release timing and upgrade.

- Enter Ghost of Yōtei: Most Wanted.
- Select a bounty from the bounty board to begin the run.
PlayStation’s mode guide identifies bounty selection as the run-start action; it does not specify the preceding title-screen or menu navigation. Read the official Most Wanted guide.

What to expect after choosing a bounty
Most Wanted is a single-player, roguelike-style combat survival mode. Each bounty is associated with a member of the Yōtei Six. You fight enemy waves and minibosses before reaching the bounty’s boss, and perks offered as you complete waves let you shape your build. Bounties can be replayed at increasing difficulty; the hardest bounty culminates in a fight against Lord Saitō.

Atsu is the default character. Oyuki, Nagato, and Jin are the other playable characters and unlock as you complete runs. All four share a katana, while each has individual additional weapons, abilities, an Ultimate, and a Kill Streak.
