You can start a fundraiser through YouTube Studio if your channel has access to YouTube Giving: open Earn > Giving, choose an eligible nonprofit, set up the campaign, attach videos or a scheduled livestream, and publish. Access is conditional, and YouTube Giving fundraisers support eligible U.S. charities. If the Giving tab is unavailable, you can link an external fundraiser from a video end screen instead.
Check whether your channel can use YouTube Giving
In YouTube Studio, open Earn > Giving. YouTube’s current help documentation lists these eligibility requirements: your channel must be based in a supported location, have at least 10,000 subscribers, be part of the YouTube Partner Program, and not be designated Made for Kids. YouTube notes that some channels may see fundraising outside these stated criteria, so check Studio rather than assuming the requirements alone determine access. YouTube’s eligibility and Giving FAQ and fundraiser setup instructions provide current details.
Supported creator locations can change. Check the location list in YouTube’s help documentation before planning a campaign around availability in a particular country. Eligibility for creators does not make every charity eligible: YouTube Giving recipients must meet its separate nonprofit requirements.

Create and publish a fundraiser in YouTube Studio
- Open Giving: In YouTube Studio, go to Earn > Giving. Select Get started > Create a fundraiser.
- Choose the nonprofit: Select an eligible U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit from the available list. If the charity is missing, use Request a nonprofit. YouTube says a requested eligible charity may take up to five business days to be processed. YouTube explains recipient eligibility and requests here.
- Enter campaign details: Add a title and description. You can optionally add collaborators, set a fundraising goal, and choose a duration. YouTube says these details can be changed later.
- Attach content: Add eligible videos or scheduled livestreams to the fundraiser. A scheduled stream must be attached ahead of time if you want the campaign associated with it.
- Publish: Review the fundraiser and publish it. The Donate button appears after the fundraiser’s start date, not necessarily as soon as you create it. It will not appear on content designated Made for Kids.
Manage the campaign from Studio’s Giving tab. You can edit details or the goal, or delete the fundraiser, which removes its Donate button. See YouTube’s setup and management steps.

Know where donations go and when they are distributed
YouTube says 100% of donations go to the nonprofit and that YouTube covers transaction fees. Google uses Network for Good to collect and distribute funds. Distribution is typically monthly; totals under $10 are disbursed annually. YouTube’s nonprofit help page says a transfer may take up to two months, so do not promise that a donation will reach a charity immediately. YouTube Giving FAQ · Nonprofit fundraising information.
Network for Good has exclusive legal control over donations it receives, as required under U.S. IRS rules. If it cannot distribute funds to the selected recipient, it may direct them to another qualified U.S. nonprofit. This is one reason to read YouTube’s recipient and donation terms before describing the fundraiser to viewers.

Run the fundraiser during a livestream
Attach a scheduled livestream to the fundraiser during setup. With live chat enabled, viewers can use Live Chat Donations. YouTube turns off Super Chat and Super Stickers on these streams to avoid confusion between those features and donations. Adding a fundraiser does not affect ads, but Super Thanks is unavailable on videos with Donations. YouTube’s Giving FAQ and setup guidance describe these mechanics.

If the Giving tab is unavailable
YouTube says creators can add an end screen linking to an external fundraising page; it names GoFundMe and JustGiving as examples of approved third-party fundraising sites. Check the chosen platform’s current terms, fees, donation receipts, and availability in your country directly: YouTube’s guidance does not establish those details for external services. YouTube’s guidance for making the most of fundraising.
You can also make original content and pledge revenue from specific videos to a nonprofit. Be precise about what you are donating, how you calculate it, and when you will send it. YouTube says it does not verify whether creators’ pledged funds are received by nonprofits, so keep records and do not imply that YouTube is processing the pledge.
