To screen a Miami Heat Vice City jersey or other merchandise, start by checking who is selling it, then ask for photos of the actual item and examine its NBA hologram and licensee label. Start with the seller and sales channel

Check the NBA and licensee indicators
NBA Communications advised fans to look for an NBA hologram sticker or holographic hangtag and a sewn-in or screen-printed label identifying the NBA licensee. Its examples included adidas, Stance, and Mitchell & Ness. Ripped tags and unusual markings are reasons to be cautious. This is league guidance published on February 16, 2017, in the context of NBA All-Star 2017—not a model-by-model authentication guide for every Vice City release.
Do not treat a hologram or label, whether present or absent, as conclusive across all editions. Use price as a warning sign, not a verdict
A surprisingly low price for expensive brand-name merchandise deserves scrutiny: the FTC says a bargain-priced branded item could be counterfeit or stolen. But neither the FTC nor the NBA sets a numerical cutoff for a price that proves an item is fake. - Use a safer payment method, such as a credit card, and keep the listing, messages, receipt, and payment records. The FTC recommends safer payment methods and keeping transaction records.
- Be cautious if the seller will not provide actual-item photos, gives no clear return terms, or pressures you to ignore inconsistent details.
Compare two listings without overvaluing one clue
