To solve Basement Door Puzzle #8 in Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Haunted Floating Festival, break the key-holding lion statue in the Haunted House’s back room with your Royal Pickaxe, pick up the dropped Eerie Basement Door Key, then use it on the basement door outside the house. The reward inside is the Eerie Basement Door.
Before you start: unlock the Haunted House back room
You need access to the Haunted House’s back room before you can find the key. The walkthrough for Puzzle #8 specifies completing Haunted House puzzles #6 and #7 first. Follow the earlier puzzles until the back room is open.
Get the Eerie Basement Door Key
- Enter the Haunted House and go to the back room.
- Find the lion statue holding a key beside the bookstand.
- Equip your Royal Pickaxe and break the statue.
- Pick up the Eerie Basement Door Key dropped nearby. The key is inside the statue, not sitting out in the open.
Unlock the basement door and collect the reward
- Leave the Haunted House and locate the basement door outside it on the Haunted Floating Festival island.
- Use the Eerie Basement Door Key on the door.
- Go inside and collect the Eerie Basement Door.
When Puzzle #8 was available
For the 2026 event schedule, the first eight puzzles—including Basement Door Puzzle #8—were listed as available from October 7, 2026. Puzzle #9 was scheduled for October 18, 2026. Those dates apply to that 2026 schedule, not automatically to a future rerun. The official Disney Dreamlight Valley event page describes the Haunted Floating Festival as a Halloween event with puzzles and exclusive rewards; the step-by-step solution above is documented in the Puzzle #8 walkthrough.
