To disconnect another device from your Google Account, open Google Account settings, select Security & sign-in, then Manage all devices. Choose the device or session and select Sign out. If the same device appears more than once, check each session: one physical device can have several account sessions.
Sign out a device or session remotely
- On a device you control, open your Google Account settings.
- Select Security & sign-in.
- Under Your devices, choose Manage all devices.
- Review the device and session details, then select the entry you want to disconnect.
- Choose Sign out. If several entries have the same device name, sign out of each session you want to end.
Google Account Help defines a session as a period when you are signed in to your account from a browser, app, or service on a device. The list can therefore show multiple sessions for one physical device. Its activity time can reflect background communication or syncing, not necessarily someone actively using the device at that moment. Google describes the visible history as covering “the last few weeks.” Google’s device-access guidance explains how to inspect the entries and their activity.
If the device belongs to someone else
If you signed in on a borrowed or shared device, use Google’s sign-out steps and remove your account from that browser’s sign-in page. If your password was saved there, change it and confirm the account is signed out. See Google’s guidance for staying signed in or out and its instructions for signing in to multiple accounts.

If the device is lost or stolen
For a lost phone, tablet, or Chromebook, use Google’s lost-device flow to sign out and remove access to your Google Account and connected apps. Google says lost Windows, Mac, and Linux computers are not listed under Find your phone; for those computers, change your Google Account password.

If you suspect someone else accessed your account
Signing out ends the selected account session, but suspected unauthorized access calls for a broader security check. Review your devices and recent security events. If an event was not yours, select No, it wasn’t me and follow Google’s on-screen security steps. Also inspect Gmail forwarding rules and filters in case someone changed them. Google’s compromised-account guidance covers reviewing activity and securing the account.

Signing out remotely stops that session from accessing your account. It is not a remote factory reset and does not guarantee removal of files or other data already downloaded or stored on the device; Google’s guidance does not promise deletion of local copies. For a device you still control, separately remove any locally stored account data or files you no longer want on it.
