To show the currently playing Hindi song and artist on a YouTube radio stream, add a text or browser overlay to the video scene in your encoder, then connect that overlay to the playlist or automation system that knows which track is playing. YouTube broadcast titles and descriptions are separate metadata; they do not automatically create an on-screen now-playing label.

How the on-screen song label works

The label is part of the video signal sent to YouTube. Your encoder combines the radio visual—such as a still image or animation—with text showing the current song and artist. The text must be updated by your playlist system or another workflow when the track changes.

This is different from YouTube broadcast metadata. YouTube’s Live API documents broadcast and stream resources with metadata fields, but those fields are not a general control for adding a changing song label to the picture. YouTube Live Streaming API documentation

Set up a now-playing overlay in OBS

  1. Prepare accurate track information. Keep the title and artist in your playlist or playback system as supplied by the rights holder or distributor. Preserve the official Devanagari spelling. If romanization helps your audience, add it as a separate line or field rather than replacing the Hindi text.
  2. Create a text source. In OBS, add a Text source to the scene used for your radio stream. Enable Read from file to display text from a file that your playlist workflow updates. You can also use a Browser source for a custom web-based layout. OBS documents configurable font and layout options, but the exact connection between a playlist and the overlay depends on the software and setup you use. OBS Text Sources · OBS Browser Source
  3. Choose and test a Devanagari-capable font. Select a font available on the computer running OBS, then preview real examples from your station—including conjunct letters and vowel marks. Check the rendered output at the smallest size viewers are likely to use. The OBS documentation describes font settings but does not certify particular fonts or guarantee Devanagari shaping on every operating system.
  4. Make the label easy to read. Put it in an uncluttered area, use strong contrast, keep each line manageable, and allow enough time for viewers to read before the next track replaces it. These are readability recommendations, not YouTube requirements.
  5. Check the actual stream output. Review the encoder’s preview or monitor feed, or rehearse with a private or unlisted broadcast before going public. An encoder gives music channels more control over presentation than a simple mobile or webcam stream. YouTube for Artists: Going Live for Music Channels

YouTube “Music in this video” May show recognized music information in a video’s description. YouTube and rights-holder metadata systems. It is not a general live on-screen now-playing control. YouTube says the feature is available only to partners using Studio Content Manager; its presence and accuracy depend on identification and rights-holder data. YouTube Help: Music in this video

Keep music rights separate from on-screen credits

A visible title and artist credit does not grant permission to stream a recording. YouTube scans all live streams for matches to third-party content; a match may result in placeholder imagery, interruption, or termination. YouTube also warns that even a licensed stream can be interrupted if the rights holder has not added the channel to the Content ID allowlist. Confirm that permissions cover the stream and relevant territories with the label or distributor, and coordinate allowlisting where needed. If YouTube’s music credits are incorrect or incomplete, YouTube advises artists to contact their label, distributor, publisher, or collection society so updated metadata can be submitted. The metadata may include identifiers such as ISRC, ISWC, UPC, and ISNI. That process concerns YouTube’s credits, not the text overlay in your encoder. YouTube Help: Music in this video
