To show Hindi song names on a YouTube radio stream, add a now-playing label to the video through your streaming encoder and update it with each song’s title and artist. YouTube’s documented overlay guidance explains how to add graphics, but does not provide a built-in live Hindi song-identification feed. Without a separate metadata source, the label must be updated manually. For a simpler alternative, announce each track in Live Chat.
Choose where the song name should appear
The right method depends on whether you want the title visible on the video itself or are happy to post it in chat. Stream metadata and YouTube’s Music section serve different purposes; neither is documented as a guaranteed, automatically updating now-playing display.
| Method | Where viewers see the title | How it updates | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Encoder overlay | On the video | Manual, unless you configure a separate metadata source | A persistent, visible now-playing label |
| Live Chat | In the chat panel | Manual message for each track | Announcing songs without changing the video layout |
| Stream title or description | Stream metadata | Manual edit; YouTube’s guidance does not describe per-track automation | General information about the stream |
| YouTube Music section | On some video pages after music identification | Depends on YouTube and rightsholder metadata | Supplemental credits, not a live guarantee |
Add a now-playing overlay to the video
This is the suitable option when viewers should see the Hindi song title and artist over the stream itself. YouTube documents adding a browser source for an overlay in an encoder-based stream; that guidance describes the overlay mechanism, not song recognition or a live track feed. Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?

Create a small graphic or browser-based overlay with fields for the current song title and artist. For example, show the Devanagari title and performer together, with an optional transliteration if that helps your audience.
- Add it in your encoder. Use the encoder’s browser-source or equivalent overlay option to place the label on the stream. YouTube’s help page documents the browser-source approach, but the exact interface and settings depend on the encoder you use.
- Check Devanagari rendering. Preview the overlay before going live. Confirm the chosen font and browser source display the Hindi characters correctly, without missing glyphs or broken character shaping.
- Update the text when tracks change. Unless you have separately configured a metadata source that changes the overlay, someone must replace the displayed title and artist at each song change. Do not assume the encoder or YouTube identifies Hindi songs automatically.
- Preview the full frame. Check that the label remains legible and does not cover important video content. Verify again after changing the text, since longer titles can take up more space.
Announce songs in Live Chat instead
If an on-video label is unnecessary, post the Hindi song title and artist in Live Chat as each track starts. It requires no overlay in the video, but viewers see the announcement in the chat panel rather than over the stream. YouTube documents Live Chat as a way to interact during a stream. What stream metadata and YouTube music credits do—and do not do
Stream title and description
You can edit stream metadata in Live Control Room, but treat the title and description as general information about the stream. YouTube’s guidance does not describe them as a track-by-track label that changes automatically. Manage live stream settings
“Music in this video”
YouTube says this section shows information about music heard in a video, such as song and artist names. It may appear for some videos, including certain Content ID-claimed videos and videos containing Audio Library music, but it is conditional: YouTube lists reasons information may be absent, including insufficient rights-owner data or music it has not identified. Do not rely on it to label songs as they play in a live stream. Music in this video
