You can share your medication information from Apple Health in two ways: export a PDF copy to send, or share selected Health data with a person in your Contacts. Choose the PDF for a copy someone can view or forward; choose Health sharing when you want to manage that person’s access in the app.
Choose how you want to share your medications

Apple documents both options in its medication guide and its instructions for sharing Health data. A PDF is a copy to share; Apple’s instructions do not describe it as a live document that updates automatically.
Export and send a PDF copy
- Open the Health app on your iPhone.
- Tap Medications.
- Scroll down and tap Export PDF.
- Tap the Share button, then choose an available app or sharing option, such as Mail or a messaging app.
Apple’s medication instructions describe this as exporting and sharing a PDF copy of the medication list. If you need to share an updated list later, export and send a fresh copy.

Share selected Health data with a contact
- Open Health and tap Sharing.
- For a new share, tap Share with Someone. To add a person when you already share data, tap Add another person.
- Find and select the person in Contacts. The person must be saved in your Contacts.
- Choose See Suggested Topics or Set Up Manually.
- Select the Health topics you want to share, follow the prompts, then tap Share and Done.
The person receives an invitation. Apple says you’ll receive a notification after they accept. For the current setup flow and available controls, see Apple’s guide to sharing data in Health.

Change or stop sharing later
Add a medication to an existing share
If you add a medication after sharing has begun, Apple says you can add it to the shared list. Review the sharing controls in Health to include the new medication.
Review or change shared data
- In Health, tap Sharing.
- Select the person.
- Tap View Shared Data, adjust the shared information, then tap Done.
End someone’s access
Use Stop Sharing in Health to end sharing with a person. For a provider, Apple documents the Remove Account option. Deleting someone from Contacts does not by itself stop Health sharing, so use Health’s sharing controls to revoke access. See Apple’s sharing guide for these controls.

Sharing a medication list makes the information available; it does not confirm that a medication or dose is appropriate, and it is not a substitute for professional medical advice. Apple Support states: “The Medications feature is not a substitute for professional medical judgment.” Consult a healthcare provider before making health decisions.
