To let someone else see a Moto Tag 2’s location, open Find Hub on the Android phone paired with the tag, select the tag, and choose Share ownership. The recipient accepts the invitation on an Android device, and you confirm the share on your phone.
Share the Moto Tag 2 with someone
- On the Android phone paired with the Moto Tag 2, open Find Hub.
- Select the Moto Tag 2 from your devices or items.
- Tap Share ownership, then tap Continue to create an invitation link.
- Send the link to the family member or friend you want to share with.
- Ask them to open the link on an Android device and accept the invitation.
- On your paired phone, confirm the sharing request. You can cancel it instead if you no longer want to share.
The recipient needs Android 9 or later for Google’s tracker-sharing flow. The invitation must be accepted within 24 hours, and Google allows sharing a tracker with up to 10 loved ones. After sharing is complete, it may take several minutes for the tracker’s location to be detected. Google’s Find Hub sharing instructions describe this flow; Motorola’s Moto Tag 2 guide gives the model-specific steps.
Stop sharing the tag
- On the phone paired with the tag, open Find Hub and select the Moto Tag 2.
- Tap Share ownership.
- Open the menu beside the person’s name and choose Stop sharing.
Once sharing stops, only the device owner can find the tag’s location. A recipient can also leave sharing from their own Find Hub settings. See Google’s sharing guidance for the recipient-side option.
Choose the right kind of location sharing

What you need for Find Hub sharing
Motorola identifies the Moto Tag 2 as a Find Hub accessory and lists Android 9 and newer. Find Hub also requires location services, Bluetooth, an internet connection, and an eligible country and user. See Motorola’s Moto Tag 2 product information for the product requirements. The person you invite needs an Android device to open and accept the invitation.
Google’s instructions do not promise a fixed ongoing refresh interval for each recipient. The stated several-minute detection time applies after sharing completes; it is not a guarantee of how often the location will update afterward.
