For a desktop Browshot screenshot, set the browser-window dimensions with screen_width and screen_height. Browshot’s documented API ranges are 1–5,000 pixels wide and 1–10,000 pixels high. The reviewed screenshot-create parameters do not document a way to set device scale factor: Browshot describes scale as returned screenshot information, not as a request setting.
Set the desktop browser-window dimensions
Send screen_width and screen_height with the screenshot-create request. The request also requires a target url and an instance_id. Use a desktop instance for these documented dimensions; Browshot identifies them as desktop-browser parameters.

Can you set a device scale factor?
The reviewed Browshot request-parameter documentation does not list a caller-controlled device scale factor. It documents scale in the returned screenshot details instead: the value is always 1 for desktop browsers, while mobile instances may change it to fit the page on screen. That returned value is not a setting to include in the request.

Do not assume that changing the desktop window dimensions also sets a device pixel ratio, or that output image pixels necessarily match CSS viewport pixels. The cited API documentation does not establish either behavior. If your work depends on a particular device scale factor, confirm directly with Browshot whether the current API supports it for your chosen instance.
Desktop dimensions and mobile scale behavior
Browshot advertises virtual desktop and mobile devices and screen-resolution options on its features page. The documented distinction relevant to this request is that screen_width and screen_height are desktop-browser parameters, while mobile instances may adjust the returned scale to fit the page. The available documentation does not establish a complete mapping between mobile instance resolutions, CSS viewport dimensions, and output image pixels.
