To get Sken.io alerts for Indian government job notifications, monitor the relevant authority’s public recruitment or notices page, select the part that lists notices or deadlines, choose Content mode, set a check interval, and connect an alert channel you actually check. Treat every alert as a prompt to verify the full notice on the authority’s official site—not as confirmation that you are eligible or that an application is open.

Before you set up an alert: find the official page

Start with the public recruitment or notices page of the authority responsible for the exam or job. Prefer that source over an unofficial repost so you can confirm dates, eligibility rules, application steps, and later corrections at their origin.

For SSC notices, the Staff Selection Commission’s official indexed page directs candidates to ssc.gov.in for application forms, notifications, results, and other important updates, and advises regular visits. Check the current site yourself to identify the appropriate public page; navigation labels and page layout can change.

Before adding a URL, check that the domain belongs to the issuing authority. Sken.io is intended to monitor public pages as an anonymous visitor; it is not a substitute for checking a candidate dashboard that requires a multi-step sign-in.

Set up a Sken.io monitor

  1. Open Sken.io and enter the public URL of the authority’s recruitment or notices page. Sken.io loads the watched page externally; you do not need to install a script on the government site.
  2. In the page-selection step, select the smallest useful region: for example, the notice titles, recruitment list, application deadline, or date/status text. Sken.io says content outside the selected area is ignored, so a focused selection can reduce alerts caused by unrelated page updates.
  3. Choose Content mode if you want to know when wording, a listing, or a deadline changes. Sken.io says this mode compares selected text and ignores styling; its guide also identifies government announcements as a suitable use. Use Visual mode only when a change in appearance, layout, or graphic is itself important.
  4. Set an interval that fits the urgency of the notices and your available check budget. Sken.io states that paid plans offer intervals from one minute to one month. A faster interval spends checks faster: the service gives one-minute monitoring as an example that uses 1,440 checks per day. That is Sken.io’s published illustration, not an independent measurement.
  5. Choose an alert destination you will notice. Sken.io lists email, Android push notifications, Slack, Discord, Google Chat, webhooks, and Zapier.
  6. Save the monitor and check that the selected area and alert destination are correct. When a change alert arrives, open the official page and the actual notice before taking action.

Choose Content or Visual mode

Mode What it detects Best fit for job notices Possible noise
Content Changes to text in the selected area; styling changes are ignored. New listings, changed notice wording, application dates, or status text. Text changes may not mean a new vacancy; inspect the notice and its context.
Visual Changes in the rendered appearance, including layout or graphics. Use when a visible change matters even if the text stays the same. A redesign or movement can trigger an alert without changing recruitment information.

For a notice list, Content is generally the better starting point because a visual redesign can happen without any change to the notice text. Sken.io also describes removing cookie banners, popups, chat widgets, and rotating ads that can otherwise change between checks and create noise. If alerts are noisy, narrow the selected region, remove volatile elements where possible, or reconsider whether the chosen mode matches the change you need to detect.

Verify each alert before acting

An alert means the monitored region changed; it does not establish that a new vacancy has been announced. The change could be unrelated, and an alert alone does not prove the notice applies to you. Open the authority’s page and read the complete official notice. Government of India GIGW guidance says recruitment notices should provide a complete title, language where relevant, application purpose or procedure, and validity where applicable.

  • Confirm the role or examination and the issuing authority.
  • Read eligibility conditions and the complete application procedure.
  • Check the application opening and closing dates, and whether the notice is still valid.
  • Follow links and instructions on the authority’s official site rather than relying on a repost or an alert preview.

Common problems and fixes

The monitor sends alerts for irrelevant page changes

The selected region may include page elements unrelated to recruitment, or a banner or widget may change between checks. Select a tighter region around the notice text and use Sken.io’s element-removal option for volatile banners, popups, chat widgets, or rotating ads where available.

A visual change triggers an alert, but no notice text changed

Visual mode tracks rendered appearance, so a layout adjustment or graphic change can matter to the comparison even when notice wording is unchanged. Switch to Content mode if text changes are the signal you need.

A notice appears to have changed, but it is not a new vacancy

Monitors report changes in the selected page area, not the meaning of those changes. Open the official notice and determine whether the update concerns a new post, a correction, a deadline, or something unrelated.

The page requires a login

Sken.io describes monitoring public pages as an anonymous visitor and excludes pages behind multi-step sign-in from its intended use. Look for an official public recruitment or notice page instead; do not assume a logged-in candidate dashboard can be monitored.

Checks are being used up quickly

Each check is one visit to one page, and a shorter interval causes more checks. Increase the interval if an immediate change alert is not necessary, and reserve frequent monitoring for pages where the time sensitivity justifies the budget.

Or skip the browser setup

For developers who want to capture a page directly rather than configure a visual monitor, ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. A GET request returns a screenshot or PDF; for example, this cURL call captures the SSC portal as a WebP image:

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://ssc.gov.in -o shot.webp

See the ScreenshotNeo documentation for API options and setup. ScreenshotNeo accepts cookie or consent banners and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; those steps can be turned off. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and responses identify the page verdict and billing status in headers. Its MCP server offers take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf for AI agents and MCP clients. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 screenshots.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will a Sken.io alert tell me whether I am eligible for a job?

No. It signals a change in the selected page region; eligibility must be checked in the official notice.

Does a Sken.io alert guarantee that I will hear about every government vacancy in time?

No such guarantee is established. Alerts depend on the page and region you monitor, the interval you choose, and delivery of the selected notification channel.
