To set up PayPal tips with Streamlabs, connect PayPal in the Streamlabs Dashboard’s Tipping area, authorize the connection, configure your Tip Page, and share its URL. Streamlabs’ documented setup supports PayPal Business or PayPal Standard; its current quick guide says Business is required for credit-card tipping in that flow. Options and eligibility can vary by country and account, so check the choices shown during setup.
Connect PayPal to Streamlabs
- Open Tipping. Sign in to the Streamlabs Dashboard and select Tipping. Streamlabs help pages have used different dashboard layouts, so follow the current controls in your account rather than relying on an older screenshot.
- Choose a PayPal connection. Select Connect beside PayPal Business or PayPal Standard.
- Authorize the connection. Sign in to PayPal in the connection window and accept the requested terms or permissions. Business-account onboarding may ask for additional information; the screens depend on your account type and country.
- Configure your Tip Page. Return to Streamlabs and review the Tip Page settings. Set the available currency, minimum and suggested amounts, page design, and message. If you want recurring support, check the setting for monthly tipping; Streamlabs supports one-time and monthly tips.
- Share the page. Copy the Tip Page URL from the Tipping area and add it wherever viewers can find it, such as your channel description or stream panels.

Choose PayPal Business or Standard

These are the options described in Streamlabs’ May 20, 2026 quick guide and setup article, last updated July 8, 2026. Payment methods and country eligibility are not universal. A Business account does not guarantee that every detail will be hidden in every payment context; PayPal and banks may display information according to their requirements. Verify the available account type and payment methods with PayPal in your region.
What happens when someone sends a tip
Streamlabs says PayPal processes tips directly from the donor to the creator and does not hold the funds. Streamlabs also says it does not take a cut of tips, but payment processing fees may apply. The sources do not establish one universal PayPal fee or payout time; both depend on account and region. For a payment or chargeback issue, Streamlabs directs users to PayPal, ideally with the transaction ID. See its overview of donation setup.

- A viewer without a PayPal account may be offered guest checkout, with an email address and phone number. Availability can vary.
- Streamlabs describes optional PRO effects that a viewer can purchase. Its guide says that fee is billed to the donor and appears as “Partner commission” in the donor’s PayPal dashboard, not as a charge to the creator.
Troubleshoot a failed or missing tip
- The tip does not appear: Check PayPal’s recent activity and see whether PayPal is asking you to accept the payment manually.
- A viewer gets an error: Check whether both sender and recipient countries and accounts support the selected PayPal payment method. Streamlabs notes that some countries cannot receive PayPal payments.
- The payment is disputed or otherwise has a problem: Contact PayPal with the transaction ID if available. Streamlabs says it does not hold the tip funds.
- The PayPal address connected to Streamlabs changed unexpectedly: Check account access and administrator permissions, secure the connected streaming-platform account, and contact PayPal.
