To run a 24/7 Punjabi songs stream with OBS, create a YouTube live stream, connect OBS with the stream URL and private key, add music and visuals you have permission to broadcast, then test the stream and monitor it. The hardest part is usually not the encoder: you need rights to every recording and composition, and a local OBS stream depends on your computer, power and internet staying available.
Before you start: confirm channel access and music rights
Check that your channel can go live
Verify the channel and make sure it has no live-streaming restrictions from the preceding 90 days. First-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours, so do this before scheduling a launch. YouTube’s encoder setup guide covers creating a stream with an encoder.
Clear every song and visual asset
You need permission for both the sound recording and the underlying composition for each Punjabi song. Permission should cover YouTube live streaming, the territories you intend to reach, continuous use, and any planned monetization. A song being popular, publicly playable, purchased for personal listening, or available through a music service does not establish that you can rebroadcast it.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A detected match can cause a placeholder to replace the stream, or lead to interruption or termination if the content remains or the channel receives a copyright or Community Guidelines strike. Even with a license, the rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Confirm this with the rights holder before going live; there is no track-level clearance implied here for any particular Punjabi catalog. See YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance.

Create the YouTube stream and connect OBS
- Create the event: In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live, then create or schedule a stream. Set its title, description, visibility and other stream options. Scheduling lets you promote an event before it starts. The available controls are described in Manage live stream settings.
- Copy the connection details: In the Live Control Room, copy the stream URL and stream key. Treat the key like a password: do not show it on screen or share it. If it is exposed, reset it in Live Control Room.
- Enter them in OBS: Open OBS’s stream settings, choose YouTube as the service if available, and enter the key. If OBS asks for a server or stream URL, use the URL supplied by YouTube. OBS labels can vary by version; use the current OBS interface rather than assuming a particular menu path.
- Build a scene: Add a media source or other playback source for your authorized music, plus a static or animated visual cleared for broadcast. Confirm the intended audio source is captured and that system sounds, notifications or unrelated audio will not leak into the live stream.
Before the full broadcast, test that the playlist or playback source behaves as intended in your OBS version and operating system. The available official YouTube guidance does not establish a version-specific OBS playlist-loop or crash-recovery procedure.

Choose OBS encoder settings for YouTube
Match resolution and frame rate to the visual, your computer’s sustained encoding ability, and your stable upload capacity. For RTMP or RTMPS, YouTube recommends H.264, constant bitrate (CBR), and a two-second keyframe interval that must not exceed four seconds. YouTube recommends RTMPS for encrypted delivery. For audio, use AAC or MP3; its recommended stereo audio bitrate is 128 Kbps. See YouTube’s encoder settings and bitrate guidance.
Published H.264 bitrate recommendations
| Output profile | YouTube-recommended video bitrate |
|---|---|
| 720p at 30 fps | 8 Mbps |
| 720p at 60 fps | 8 Mbps |
| 1080p at 30 fps | 14 Mbps |
| 1080p at 60 fps | 17 Mbps |
These are YouTube’s published H.264 recommendations, not a guarantee that your connection or encoder can sustain a profile. A mostly static music visual may not need a high frame rate, but test before lowering a setting or bitrate. YouTube recommends keeping upload capacity 20% above the stream bitrate; leave that margin for normal network variation rather than planning to use the entire measured upload rate.

- PLUG IN AND HEAR SOUND IN SECONDS - USB Type-A connector with a 3.5mm stereo headphone output and a separate 3.5mm mono microphone input. No drivers, no software, no external power - the adapter is USB bus-powered and is recognized as a standard USB audio device.
- WORKS ON WINDOWS, MAC AND LINUX - Driverless on Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP/Server 2003/Vista/7/8, Linux and Mac OSX, and compliant with the USB Audio Device Class 1.0 specification, so any system that supports class-compliant USB audio will see it. Select it as the sound output and input device after plugging it in.
- TWO JACKS, TWO JOBS - The green jack is stereo OUT for headphones or powered speakers; the pink jack is mono microphone IN for a 3.5mm mic. It does NOT support 4-pole headsets on a single combo plug, it does NOT power passive speakers, and it does NOT add surround sound - it is a stereo 2-channel adapter.
- FOR LAPTOPS AND DESKTOPS THAT NEED AN AUDIO PORT BACK - Adds a headphone and mic port to a laptop, desktop, or mini PC whose onboard jack has failed or was never there. Managed and work-issued computers can block new USB audio devices by policy - check with your IT department before ordering for a company machine.
- SABRENT SUPPORT AND WARRANTY - What is in the box: one USB audio sound adapter. Backed by a 1-year limited warranty, extended to 2 years when you register within 90 days on the manufacturer's website.
Test the stream, then go live
- Play representative music and moving visuals in OBS, not just a silent or static test screen.
- Start the encoder and inspect the YouTube Live Control Room preview. Confirm the picture, music level, selected visual and stream status are correct.
- Check stream health and messages, then start or confirm the scheduled broadcast according to the Live Control Room prompts.
- Keep monitoring stream health while live. For any local archive recording, verify that the file is growing; YouTube’s streaming tips recommend advance preparation, testing, preview checks and ongoing quality monitoring.
Plan for continuous operation and replay
A local OBS broadcast can stop if the computer sleeps, loses power, loses internet, or the encoder or playback software fails. Use a wired connection where practical, disable sleep for the stream period, and have a recovery plan. YouTube recommends reliable network capacity and monitoring; a UPS for the computer and router is an optional practical measure for brief power interruptions, not a YouTube requirement. It cannot fix an internet outage or software failure, and its useful runtime depends on the connected load and desired duration.
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume one uninterrupted 24-hour broadcast will be archived as a single replay. If an archive matters, plan an operating pattern within the documented archive window and verify current Live Control Room behavior before relying on it. See YouTube’s encoder guidance.

Quick Recap
Troubleshooting common failures
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube does not receive the stream | Incorrect or stale URL/key, or encoder not connected | Compare OBS connection details with the current Live Control Room values. Reset the key if it may have been exposed. |
| Preview buffers or stream health degrades | Insufficient or inconsistent upload capacity, or settings too demanding for the connection | Check that stable upload capacity exceeds the stream bitrate by YouTube’s recommended 20% margin; test a lower supported output profile. |
| Music is missing or too quiet | OBS is capturing the wrong audio source or the source is muted | Inspect OBS audio meters while representative playback is running, then verify the preview audio before launch. |
| Stream is interrupted after a copyright match | Content ID detected third-party material; permission or channel allowlisting may be absent | Stop and resolve rights with the relevant owner. A license alone may not prevent interruption if channel allowlisting is also required. |
| Stream stops after a long run | Local power, network, computer, encoder or playback failure | Check the computer’s sleep and power settings, network status, OBS state and playback source. A UPS only addresses some power interruptions. |
