To stream from a Samsung Galaxy camera to YouTube Live with Larix Broadcaster, get the server URL and stream key from YouTube Studio, enter YouTube’s current connection details in Larix, check camera and microphone access, then start the encoder. For a scheduled stream, you may also need to click Go live in YouTube Live Control Room after the preview appears.
Before you start
- A Samsung Galaxy with Larix Broadcaster installed.
- A YouTube account and access to YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. Live-streaming eligibility can depend on the account; check YouTube Studio if it will not let you create or start a stream.
- A reliable internet connection suitable for sending live video.
- The server URL and stream key for the stream you intend to use. These are credentials: do not share them or include them in screenshots.
YouTube lists Larix Broadcaster as an Android mobile encoder. Its encoder workflow is documented at YouTube’s encoder setup guide.
Get the YouTube server URL and stream key
- In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go live to open Live Control Room.
- Open the Stream tab. For a first stream, edit the stream and select Create stream. If you have streamed before, you may be able to use an existing stream and its settings.
- Copy the server URL and stream key shown for that stream. Use the current values provided by YouTube; do not use sample credentials from a tutorial.
- Choose the stream’s visibility—public, private, or unlisted—and review the other stream settings before sharing its watch page.
YouTube’s privacy defaults vary by age group: its documentation says streams for creators aged 13–17 default to private, while streams for creators aged 18 or older default to public. Confirm the selected visibility rather than assuming a default. See YouTube’s live-stream privacy guidance.
Connect Larix Broadcaster to YouTube
- Open Larix Broadcaster and create a connection using the app’s connection settings. Button names and menu locations can differ by Larix version.
- Enter the server URL and stream key from the YouTube stream you just configured. Larix’s RTMP connection uses the server/application URL together with the stream name or key; follow the fields and format Larix presents. Softvelum describes the URL structure in its Larix documentation.
- Check that the connection is set to send audio and video, not video alone. Softvelum also advises choosing an appropriate bitrate for YouTube in its Larix setup guidance.
- Save the connection. Keep the key private: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a stream to that destination.
The official setup guidance does not establish one bitrate that is right for every Galaxy, resolution, or network. Choose a bitrate that your connection can sustain; if the feed stalls or drops, reduce the video load or move to a more reliable connection rather than guessing at a universal setting.

Allow camera and microphone access, then check the preview
- When Android prompts, allow Larix to access the camera and microphone if you want to send a phone-camera picture with sound.
- In Larix, select the connection and check the camera preview, framing, and audio source before you go live.
- If the preview is missing or silent, check Larix’s permissions in Android settings. The exact permission wording and Settings path vary across Galaxy models, Android releases, and One UI versions.
Start an immediate or scheduled stream
Immediate stream
- In Larix, start sending using the connection configured with YouTube’s current URL and key.
- For an immediate stream, YouTube says that starting the encoder creates the watch page and the stream is live. Check Live Control Room and the watch page to confirm the feed is reaching YouTube.
Scheduled stream
- Start sending from Larix and wait for the encoder preview to appear in YouTube Live Control Room.
- When the preview is available, select Go live in Live Control Room. Starting Larix alone may not publish a scheduled stream.
For either path, use the privacy setting you selected in YouTube Studio before sharing the watch page.
End the broadcast and find its archive
Stop sending from Larix when the broadcast is over. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived after encoder transmission ends; see YouTube’s live-stream archiving guidance. Do not assume that an unusually long stream will be archived in the same way.

Troubleshoot a missing picture, sound, or live status
- YouTube receives no video: Confirm you copied the URL and key for the intended stream, that Larix is using YouTube’s current server address, and that Android granted camera access. Check the Larix preview before starting again.
- There is picture but no sound: Check microphone permission, the selected audio source, and that the connection is configured for audio plus video.
- The scheduled stream is waiting: Look for the encoder preview in Live Control Room and select Go live there once it appears.
- The feed stalls or disconnects: Check network stability and whether the selected bitrate is sustainable on that connection. The official workflow does not guarantee a fix for device-specific network or codec problems.
- The stream will not start: Verify the stream’s current URL and key in YouTube Studio, confirm the correct Larix connection is selected, and check whether YouTube Studio indicates an account eligibility issue.
Optional audio equipment
YouTube lists external microphones and headphones among common equipment for casual streams. That is a general category recommendation, not confirmation that a particular microphone works with every Galaxy. Check the connector and Android compatibility for your exact phone before buying or connecting one. YouTube’s list is at its live-stream setup guidance.
