YXSTABY is not a full-size gaming desk. IKEA’s listings describe a monitor stand, a laptop support with storage, and a rolling gaming side table. For a compact gaming spot, place the stand or support on a suitable desk or table you already own; add the side table only if you have room for its footprint and movement.
What YXSTABY includes—and what it does not
IKEA’s US collection page describes YXSTABY as a gaming furniture and accessories collection developed with Xbox. The page lists items including a gaming monitor stand, gaming laptop support with storage, and gaming side table, but the sources reviewed do not establish a full-size YXSTABY desk. The listings below are from IKEA US for the monitor stand and laptop support, and IKEA Canada for the side table. Dimensions and availability can vary by market, so check the relevant local IKEA listing before buying.

Plan the layout before setting up
- Measure your existing surface. Record its usable width and depth, then compare them with the accessory dimensions above. Also measure the clear floor area around it, especially if you are considering the rolling table. IKEA provides product specifications, not a recommended room size or validated layout.
- Pick one primary setup. Choose the monitor stand for a monitor-led arrangement or the laptop support for a laptop-first arrangement. Do not assume the two accessories will fit together; check their combined footprint against your desk.
- Check the equipment fit. For the monitor stand, compare your monitor’s base and weight with the listed fit guidance and 20 kg shelf limit. For the laptop support, make sure the laptop fits when the lid is opened into stand position.
- Decide whether floor storage is worth it. Reserve the side table’s 50 × 50 cm footprint and allow extra room to roll it in and out. If that blocks a chair, doorway, or walking route, leave it out.
Set up a monitor-first gaming spot
Place the YXSTABY monitor stand on the existing desk with its 38 5/8-inch width and 10 5/8-inch depth fully supported. Set the monitor on top only after confirming its fit and weight. IKEA says the stand can accommodate one larger monitor or two 24-inch monitors and supports up to 20 kg per shelf.

Use the space beneath the stand for a laptop, keyboard, or accessories if they fit without interfering with your seating or cables. IKEA also describes cable management and flexible holders for items such as a headset, controller, or phone; arrange them around your equipment without forcing cables or obstructing controls. The product listing does not establish a specific ergonomic improvement or a tested reduction in strain. Check the monitor stand details with IKEA.
Set up a laptop-first gaming spot
Put the YXSTABY laptop support on a stable existing surface, leaving room for its 16 7/8 × 10 5/8-inch base and for the lid to open. IKEA describes the lid as unfolding into a laptop stand and the felt insert as storage and protection for gaming gear. In IKEA’s product description: “The lid unfolds into a laptop stand when you’re ready to start playing.” Keep frequently used accessories accessible, and stow the rest inside when the setup is not in use. Add the rolling side table only if the floor plan allows
The YXSTABY gaming side table is a separate storage piece, not part of the desk surface. IKEA Canada lists it at 50 cm wide, 50 cm deep, and 55 cm high. Its controller area includes holes that let controllers charge behind sliding doors; the shelf has two assembly positions, and casters let you move the table. Measure the square footprint and the path it needs to roll before placing it beside your gaming spot. Check the side table details with IKEA Canada.
