To run prerecorded videos continuously on YouTube with Gyre, upload the video files to Gyre, arrange them in a playlist, connect your YouTube channel, set the broadcast details, review Gyre’s file report, then start or schedule the stream. A video already published on YouTube is not automatically available to Gyre: you need the source file and must upload it to Gyre storage.
Before you set up the stream
Check YouTube livestream eligibility
YouTube says a channel must be verified and have no livestream restrictions in the previous 90 days to livestream. Livestreamers must also be at least 16 years old. Review YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility and rules before you begin.
Prepare files you have the right to stream
Gyre’s documented workflow uses prerecorded video files uploaded to Gyre storage—not a YouTube watch-page link or a live camera feed. If a video is already on your YouTube channel, obtain its file and upload it to Gyre. Having published a video previously does not by itself establish that you have rights to stream every component in it. Use content you are authorized to broadcast and follow YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.
Choose a coherent playlist
Select one video or a set of videos and arrange them in the intended order. Gyre’s guide says the playlist repeats when it finishes. A continuous loop works best when the material feels like one broadcast; there is no universally supported ideal playlist length. Check that the order, subject matter, and rights for every item make sense together.

How to stream uploaded videos continuously on YouTube with Gyre
- Upload your source files to Gyre. Add the video files from your device to Gyre storage. Existing YouTube uploads are not substituted for these source files.
- Create the playlist. Select the uploaded videos and arrange them in the sequence you want viewers to see. Confirm the selection is suitable for a repeating broadcast.
- Connect your YouTube channel. In Gyre’s YouTube connection flow, choose YouTube, sign in with the Google Account that owns the channel, grant permission to manage livestreams, and select the channel.
- Set up the broadcast. Enter the title, description, tags, thumbnail, and privacy setting. Choose an existing stream key or let Gyre create one through its authorization workflow.
- Review the files and playlist. Add the files or playlist to the stream setup and check Gyre’s file report. It checks file parameters and reports mismatches; resolve reported issues before launch.
- Start or schedule the stream. Start it in Gyre when the setup is ready. Gyre says its Streams Scheduler can assign a start time, an end time, or both, but scheduling availability varies by plan. Confirm the current plan details in Gyre before depending on a scheduling option.
- Test and monitor the live output. YouTube recommends testing, checking the preview before starting, verifying that viewers can access the event, and monitoring audio and video quality. These are YouTube’s platform tips; the controls available in Gyre may differ.
Choose a YouTube connection method
| Route | What happens | Best fit |
|---|---|---|
| Gyre channel authorization | Sign in with the Google Account that owns the channel, grant livestream permissions, and select the channel. Gyre’s API workflow handles broadcast setup and metadata in its interface. | The simpler route when you want Gyre to manage the connection and repeated-launch setup. |
| Manual stream key and RTMP | Use the stream key and RTMP workflow instead of the authorization flow. Gyre says this route remains available. | Creators who need more control over advanced YouTube Studio settings. |
Keep a stream key private: anyone who has it may be able to send video to the associated stream. If you suspect it has been exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the key used by your streaming setup.
Video settings and file compatibility
Gyre’s Help Center guidance for HD/Full HD lists 1280×720 or 1920×1080 resolution, H.264 video, a video bitrate of 3072–6144 kbps, audio bitrate of 128 kbps, and 30 FPS. That article was updated about a year before the research access date, so treat those figures as Gyre’s guidance rather than universal, current YouTube requirements. Gyre’s page also labels “44.1 kHz” as a frame rate; that label is suspect because kHz is not a video frame-rate unit. Do not use it as an FPS setting. Check current YouTube encoder guidance and Gyre’s file converter or compatibility report for your setup.

Use content cleared for continuous streaming
YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service apply to live content, and YouTube can restrict livestream access. Rights to a recording do not necessarily cover music, footage, or other material inside it. Check licenses and permissions for all components before including them in a loop.
Do not assume a stream will earn money
Eligibility and monetization settings matter; a continuous broadcast does not guarantee ads or revenue. Gyre’s API article says a third-party monetization setting must be enabled if you expect monetization on API-created streams. YouTube lists live-stream ad and related monetization controls, but channels must qualify and ad delivery is not guaranteed.

Troubleshooting common setup problems
- Your channel is unavailable or cannot go live: check that it is verified, has no livestream restrictions in the previous 90 days, and meets YouTube’s minimum age rule for livestreamers.
- You cannot select a video already on YouTube: Gyre’s workflow requires a source file uploaded to Gyre storage. Obtain the file and upload it rather than relying on the YouTube watch-page link.
- Gyre reports a file mismatch: inspect the file report, then normalize or convert the affected file to compatible parameters and review it again before launch. Don’t treat the old “44.1 kHz” label as a frame-rate requirement.
- The stream does not connect through authorization: sign in with the Google Account that owns the channel and confirm that you granted the requested livestream permission and selected the right channel. If you need advanced Studio control, use Gyre’s documented manual key-and-RTMP route.
- The event is live but viewers cannot access it: verify the event’s privacy setting and check the preview and viewer access in YouTube before relying on the broadcast.
- The audio or video looks wrong: monitor the live output, check YouTube’s preview, and investigate the source file and its compatibility report. YouTube recommends testing and monitoring quality.
- Monetization is not appearing: confirm channel eligibility and the relevant settings, including the third-party monetization setting for API-created streams if applicable. Neither ads nor revenue are guaranteed.
