To stream a Hindi music channel from Astra Streaming Studio, use the Android app as an encoder: enable YouTube Live, copy the stream URL and key from YouTube Studio, enter them in Astra’s RTMP or RTMPS destination, then test the feed in YouTube Live Control Room before broadcasting. This workflow combines the app’s listed protocol support with YouTube’s general encoder guidance; Astra’s exact screen labels have not been verified.
Confirm you have the right Astra app
These steps refer to Astra Streaming Studio by MIV Dev, not another app or service called Astra. Its Google Play listing describes streaming from an Android mobile device and lists RTMP and RTMPS, H.264/AAC encoding, recording, image or slideshow overlays, and scene switching. The listing does not establish a dedicated YouTube integration, app-specific YouTube setup instructions, minimum Android version, or recommended handset. Use an Android phone that is compatible with the current app listing and capable of maintaining a stable connection. No particular phone or accessory is established as necessary.

YouTube requires a verified channel for live streaming, with no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. If this is the first time the channel will stream, YouTube says activation may take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before the planned broadcast. Check YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.

- Sign in to the intended channel in YouTube Studio.
- Open Create → Go Live.
- Create a stream or select an existing one, then open its stream settings.
- Copy the YouTube server URL and stream key. Treat the key like a password: do not show it in a public screenshot, screen recording, or broadcast.
YouTube’s setup guidance is at Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder. Keep the stream key private even after setup; anyone who obtains it may be able to send video to your stream.
Connect Astra Streaming Studio to YouTube
- Open Astra Streaming Studio and choose its live-stream or destination settings. The exact menu and field names are not verified in the app-specific source.
- If the app offers a destination protocol, choose RTMPS when available. YouTube recommends RTMPS, the secure form of RTMP.
- Enter YouTube’s server URL in Astra’s server or URL field and the copied key in the stream-key field. The app listing confirms RTMP and RTMPS support, but does not document the precise configuration screen.
- Set up the audio source and any image, slideshow, or scene elements needed for the broadcast. Astra’s listing describes these visual features; using a still image does not alter music-rights requirements.
- Start streaming from Astra. In YouTube Live Control Room, wait for the incoming preview and check the stream health or status messages.
- For a scheduled event, follow YouTube’s on-screen instructions for when to select Go live; sending the encoder feed and making the stream public are not necessarily the same action.
If Astra does not show an RTMP/RTMPS destination or accepts neither URL nor key, do not assume another Astra-branded app has the same features. Confirm that you installed the MIV Dev app and consult its current listing or in-app help.

Choose encoder settings and test the real broadcast conditions
YouTube’s encoder guidance supports RTMP/RTMPS ingestion, H.264/H.265/AV1 video, AAC or MP3 audio, constant bitrate (CBR), and frame rates up to 60 fps. YouTube recommends a 2-second keyframe interval, not exceeding 4 seconds. Astra’s listing specifically confirms H.264/AAC, but not every codec or setting available in its interface. Use only options Astra actually exposes.

For resolution-specific video bitrate ranges and other current recommendations, use YouTube’s encoder settings and bitrates guidance. Select a resolution and bitrate the phone and upload connection can sustain; the sources do not establish a minimum upload speed for this particular phone-and-app combination.

- Prioritize a steady audio source and avoid an input level that clips or distorts.
- Test at the same resolution, frame rate, audio setup, and visual complexity planned for the actual broadcast.
- Check YouTube’s stream health and messages during the test rather than relying only on Astra’s indication that it is sending.
- Keep the phone on a stable network and avoid changes to the encoder setup during the test.
YouTube recommends testing with audio and movement similar to the intended stream and monitoring stream health. A test is especially useful for an audio-led Hindi music broadcast: verify that the music is audible and clean, the chosen visuals appear as intended, and the incoming stream remains stable before inviting viewers. Clear Hindi music rights before broadcasting
A song title, attribution, or personal access to a recording does not establish permission to use that recording in a YouTube livestream. Rights can involve both the composition and the particular sound recording, and permissions may depend on the rights holders, repertoire, territories, and live-stream use.

YouTube for Artists advises: “If you’re planning on using copyright-protected music during your live stream, we recommend coordinating with your label or distributor to avoid any issues, such as copyright strikes.” Before streaming, get confirmation from the relevant rights holders or their authorized representatives that the specific tracks and recordings are cleared for livestreaming in the territories where you plan to broadcast.
