To find camera settings on an OPPO Find X phone, open the Camera app, tap the menu icon in the upper-right corner, then tap Settings. The precise icon, labels, and available controls vary by Find X model and ColorOS version. Check Settings > About Phone or About Device to see your software version, then follow the options shown on your phone. OPPO Support gives this general route for ColorOS 14–16 and notes that settings vary by model and version.
Open the camera settings
- On your phone, open Settings and tap About Phone or About Device to check the installed ColorOS version.
- Open the Camera app.
- Tap the menu icon in the upper-right corner. Depending on your ColorOS version, it may appear as a menu or three-dot icon.
- Tap Settings, then adjust the controls available on your device.
OPPO lists this general route for ColorOS 14 through 16 and says the upper-right menu or three-dot icon leads to settings on ColorOS 7.1 through 13. The icon and options are not identical across devices, so use the version and labels visible on your phone rather than expecting one universal Find X menu. OPPO’s camera-settings guidance describes the version-dependent paths.
Choose practical camera controls
Depending on the model and software, camera settings may include these controls:
- Volume button: Choose whether the volume keys adjust volume, zoom, or release the shutter. Set this to the action you are most likely to use while framing a shot.
- Shutter sound: Turn the camera sound on or off where the option is available.
- Location: Enable location tagging if you want images to store location metadata. Consider whether you want that information included when sharing photos.
- Flip selfie: Choose whether front-camera photos are mirrored.
- Timer: Where offered, OPPO lists 3-second, 10-second, and off options. A timer can give you time to join a group photo or settle the phone before a self-portrait.
- Composition or grid: Show guides that can help align a subject or keep a frame level.
These controls change how you operate or organize a shot; they are not a guarantee of improved image quality. Their names and availability depend on the Find X model and ColorOS version. OPPO’s support overview lists these as common settings.

Understand model-specific modes and controls
Find X9: Master Mode and presets
OPPO’s UK Find X9 product page says Master Mode lets users adjust ISO, shutter speed, focus, and white balance, and offers 16 customizable presets. The page also describes Hi-Res, Portrait, XPAN, RAW Max, JPG Max, ProXDR, and Master Motion Photo. These are OPPO’s claims about the Find X9, not independent camera test results, and they should not be assumed to appear on other Find X phones. OPPO describes Master Mode this way: “Fine-tune ISO, shutter speed, focus, and white balance just like a pro, or use 16 fully customisable presets for your own creative style.” OPPO Find X9 product page.
Earlier Find X models
Camera hardware and named features differ across Find X generations. For example, OPPO’s Find X5 page describes a wide, ultra-wide, and telephoto camera system, along with XPan mode and Natural Colour Calibration. That description is specific to the Find X5; it does not establish which controls or modes another model has. OPPO Find X5 product page.

Older ColorOS manuals also show how settings have changed over time. OPPO’s ColorOS 6.1 guide included photo ratios such as 4:3, 1:1, full screen, and 4:3 Ultra HD, as well as timer, touch-to-take-photo, volume-button behavior, grid, shutter sound, location tags, and selfie mirroring. If another app cannot access the camera
Check the app’s camera permission in Settings. OPPO documents different routes for different ColorOS releases, so use the path that matches your version and the labels on your phone:

- ColorOS 14–16: Settings > Security & privacy > Privacy controls > Permission manager. Choose the camera permission and then the app whose access you want to change.
- ColorOS 13–14: OPPO lists a Phone Manager/App Management route for changing camera access.
- ColorOS 11–12: Phone Manager > Privacy permissions > Permission manager.
Menu paths may differ by release and localization. OPPO’s camera settings guidance covers settings within the Camera app; its permission guidance gives the version-dependent routes for app access.
