To keep recorded Spanish lessons live on YouTube, send them through an encoder connected to YouTube Live Control Room. Enable live streaming on your channel, prepare a rights-cleared playlist, then connect the encoder with YouTube’s stream URL and key. For continuous programming, schedule consecutive broadcasts shorter than 12 hours and save local copies: YouTube warns that longer streams may not be archived.
Before you start
- Your channel must be verified, have no live-streaming restrictions within the past 90 days, and the person streaming must be at least 16. First-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before your planned launch. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance and getting-started instructions.
- Have finished lesson recordings ready and an encoder that can send video to YouTube Live. YouTube’s encoder setup guide explains the workflow and supported setup options.
- Use lesson recordings and all included audio and visuals that you own or are licensed to livestream and archive. YouTube’s livestream terms require the necessary rights, including music rights.
- Decide how you will retain local recordings and check each broadcast’s archive. YouTube does not guarantee that a stream longer than 12 hours will be captured.
Set up the recorded Spanish lesson stream

Enable live streaming early
In YouTube Studio, open Create → Go Live and follow any prompts to enable live streaming. Complete channel verification and resolve any restrictions before launch. If this is your channel’s first livestream, allow up to 24 hours for activation.

Build a purposeful lesson sequence
Arrange recordings into a sequence that helps viewers find their level and topic—for example, beginner greetings, pronunciation, grammar, then conversation practice. Prepare accurate titles and descriptions that explain the program and its order. Check every recording for third-party music, images, clips, or other material that is not cleared for both livestreaming and archiving.

Create or schedule a broadcast in Live Control Room
In YouTube Studio, choose Create → Go Live, then use the Stream or Manage tab in Live Control Room. Create a new stream or schedule one. Scheduling lets you promote the broadcast in advance and gives viewers the option to set reminders.

Connect an encoder with YouTube’s stream URL and key
If your encoder offers YouTube as a destination, select it and sign in or connect as prompted. Otherwise, copy the server or stream URL and stream key from Live Control Room into the encoder’s streaming settings. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it or share it with people who should not control the stream.

Start sending video and go live
Choose the prepared lesson recording or playlist in the encoder and start sending the video. Wait for the incoming-video preview or status in Live Control Room. Check that the correct broadcast and lesson are selected, then click Go live when ready. Confirm that playback and audio are working from the viewer’s perspective.

Continue in blocks shorter than 12 hours
Do not rely on one broadcast running longer than 12 hours if you need a YouTube archive. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived; a stream that exceeds 12 hours may not be captured at all. Schedule successive broadcasts below that limit, retain your own local recording, and check the stream status and archive after each block. See YouTube’s archive guidance.

Keep the program useful and monetization-aware
YouTube’s monetization policies apply to livestreams as well as other channel content. A playlist made from your own lessons is not automatically ineligible, but repeatedly looping interchangeable recordings can create risk if the result is repetitive, mass-produced, or offers little educational value. YouTube’s channel monetization policies, with a clarification dated July 15, 2025, identify highly repetitive content with low educational value and templated material without meaningful instruction among ineligible examples.

Make the program genuinely instructional: sequence lessons, vary topics, provide clear explanations, and use metadata that accurately describes what viewers will learn. Copyright clearance and monetization eligibility are separate questions. Having permission to use a recording or song does not by itself establish that a channel meets monetization requirements. YouTube says reviewers may consider the channel’s main theme, most-viewed and newest videos, biggest share of watch time, metadata, and About section.
Choose how to keep the stream running
A local computer and encoder give you direct control, but the computer, encoder, and internet connection need to remain available for the broadcast. A cloud service can avoid relying on a home computer staying on, but introduces a service account, cost, and vendor dependency. Compare the options based on how much monitoring you can provide, whether you need local backups, and how you want to schedule broadcasts. Neither option removes the need to follow YouTube’s stream, rights, and monetization rules.
