To loop a Gujarati news bulletin on YouTube Live, run the prerecorded video through OBS Studio: use a Media Source with Loop for one combined file, or a VLC Video source with Loop Playlist for multiple clips. Create a YouTube Live event, connect OBS with the event’s stream URL and stream key, test the feed, then start the broadcast. The loop runs on the computer and depends on OBS, the media files, and a working internet connection.
Before you build the loop: confirm the channel can go live
In YouTube Studio, open the channel’s Live Control Room and confirm live streaming is available for that channel. YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so check well before the planned bulletin.
YouTube’s encoder setup and eligibility guidance is available in its live streaming help. Channel status and availability can change, so rely on what Live Control Room shows for the account you will use.

Choose how to organize the bulletin files

OBS’s Media Source loops a single local file. Its VLC Video source can play a playlist and loop that playlist. These are encoder-side playback controls; they are not YouTube’s viewer-side repeat option. See the OBS Media Sources documentation.

Prepare the Gujarati bulletin and OBS scene
Check editorial and media assets
- Put clips in the intended order and confirm names, places, spellings, and pronunciations against the channel’s approved Gujarati script.
- Confirm the channel has the necessary rights for every included music track, video clip, graphic, and other third-party material. The reviewed sources do not establish Gujarati-specific legal requirements or determine whether any particular bulletin asset is cleared.
- Decide whether the bulletin should run as one file or as independently replaceable segments. Before scheduling, test the order, audio continuity, and the transition from the final item back to the first.
Build the source
- Open OBS Studio and create or select a scene for the bulletin.
- For a combined file, add a Media Source, select the file, and enable Loop.
- For separate clips, install VLC if needed, add a VLC Video source, select the files in the intended order, and enable Loop Playlist.
- Check that the source fits the scene and that its audio is audible in OBS. OBS lists common supported video formats including MP4, TS, MOV, FLV, MKV, AVI, GIF, and WebM; compatibility can still depend on the file and system.

Create the YouTube Live event and connect OBS
- In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or schedule the live stream.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for the event into OBS’s streaming settings.
- Keep the stream key private. YouTube describes stream keys as “like your YouTube stream’s password and address”; if the key is compromised, reset it in Live Control Room.
Use YouTube’s encoder setup instructions for the current account workflow. The stream key authorizes the encoder to send video to the channel, so do not share it in a public post, screenshot, or production document.

Test, check bandwidth, and start the loop
- Start OBS’s stream output and wait for the preview to appear in Live Control Room. Use an unlisted test when that suits the channel’s workflow.
- Check picture, speech and other audio, and the transition between playlist items. Test with movement and audio similar to the actual bulletin, rather than relying on a still or silent preview.
- Check YouTube’s stream-health feedback and confirm the upload bitrate fits the available upload bandwidth. YouTube recommends leaving 20% upload-bandwidth headroom; this is guidance, not a guarantee of an uninterrupted stream. A wired connection and a backup plan are sensible operational precautions.
- For a scheduled event, YouTube recommends setting up the encoder stream at least two hours beforehand and starting the encoder at least 15 minutes before the event.
- Once the preview and health checks look right, confirm the audience-facing watch page and go live. During the broadcast, supervise audio, video, network status, and playlist progression.

What this loop does—and what it does not guarantee
OBS plays the local media and sends that output to YouTube. It is not a cloud-hosted loop: OBS, the computer, the local files, and the network all need to keep operating. If the computer sleeps, OBS stops, a file becomes unavailable, or the connection fails, the broadcast can be interrupted.

YouTube says live streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Its cited guidance does not establish that one local loop will produce a single uninterrupted archive beyond that limit, so do not promise a longer continuous recording on that basis.
Live Redirect can hand viewers to a Premiere or another live stream when a broadcast ends. YouTube’s eligibility guidance requires more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guideline strikes for the sending channel. Redirect is an end-of-stream handoff, not a way to loop bulletin content within the same broadcast. See YouTube’s Live Redirect guidance.

Troubleshooting common setup problems

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I loop a video on YouTube without OBS?
YouTube’s viewer-side repeat feature only repeats playback for an individual viewer; it does not create a live broadcast loop. To send prerecorded material as YouTube Live, use an encoder workflow such as OBS or a cloud service that streams uploaded videos.
Can I redirect viewers when the bulletin ends?
YouTube Live Redirect can hand viewers to a Premiere or another live stream, subject to the sending channel’s eligibility. It does not extend the bulletin loop.
