If your YouTube channel is based in India, the documented YouTube Giving fundraiser setup is not currently available to you: India is not listed among the locations where creators can set up fundraisers. If your channel is in a supported location, YouTube’s instructions explain how to attach a fundraiser to a scheduled livestream, but they do not confirm that a single uninterrupted 24/7 stream is supported.
Can an India-based channel use YouTube Giving?
Based on YouTube’s published creator-location list, India is not a supported location for setting up YouTube Giving fundraisers. A channel based in India therefore should not expect to see or use the documented Giving setup in YouTube Studio. The published guidance does not establish an exception for individual channels. YouTube’s setup guidance and Google for Nonprofits’ eligibility information are the relevant official references; check them again before planning a campaign because availability can change.
For creators in supported locations, other eligibility requirements apply: the channel generally needs at least 10,000 subscribers, must be in the YouTube Partner Program, and must not be designated Made for Kids. Meeting those requirements does not make every charity eligible.
What a supported channel needs before setup
- An eligible channel: it must be located in a supported country, meet YouTube’s subscriber and Partner Program requirements, and not be designated Made for Kids.
- An eligible recipient: the documented program supports eligible US-based public charities with 501(c)(3) status and other required registrations or opt-ins. A non-US charity is not directly eligible under the documented setup.
- A scheduled livestream to attach: YouTube’s published workflow describes adding a scheduled live stream to the fundraiser.
If a charity is missing from the selection list, the nonprofit request flow is available to eligible creators. YouTube says a request can take up to five business days, so allow time for it to be reviewed.

Set up the fundraiser on an eligible channel
- Sign in to YouTube Studio using the eligible channel.
- Open Earn > Giving, then select Get started > Create a fundraiser. You can also look for fundraiser setup in Live Control Room > Advanced Settings.
- Choose an available US 501(c)(3) public charity. If it is not listed, submit a nonprofit request and allow up to five business days for processing.
- Enter the fundraiser details, such as its title and description. Set a goal and duration if they are useful for your campaign.
- Add the scheduled livestream that should display the fundraiser.
- Select Publish. The donate button appears after the fundraiser start date.
What to verify for a 24/7 livestream
The official setup instructions describe attaching a scheduled live stream; they do not explain whether a single continuous 24/7 stream can be attached, or whether a scheduled or restarted stream is required. Before announcing a fundraiser, open the channel’s Live Control Room and confirm that the exact stream appears as an option and that the fundraiser is associated with it. Do not promise viewers that donations will appear on a continuous stream until the channel interface confirms the setup.
Donation controls can appear on the watch page or in live chat. Donations in chat require live chat to be enabled; on mobile, viewers may need to hold the device in portrait orientation to see chat. The donate button does not appear until the fundraiser’s start date.

Donation and livestream limitations
- For livestreams with Live Chat Donations, YouTube disables Super Chat and Super Stickers to avoid confusion. Ads are not affected. Super Thanks is unavailable on videos with Donations.
- YouTube says 100% of contributions go to the nonprofit and that YouTube pays transaction fees. YouTube identifies Network for Good as its donation collection and disbursement partner.
- The fundraiser feature is unavailable for content designated Made for Kids.
If YouTube Giving is unavailable in India
Google for Nonprofits points creators who are not eligible toward third-party fundraising sites. That is a separate arrangement, not a YouTube Giving integration, and the official guidance does not establish which services support an India-based organizer, a particular charity, or donations during a continuous livestream.

Before choosing another fundraising service, verify its rules directly for the organizer’s location and the intended charity. Also confirm whether donation links or displays work during a continuous stream, which payment methods and donor countries are supported, what fees apply, and how long disbursement takes. Do not present a third-party service as approved or integrated with YouTube Giving unless the service and YouTube documentation establish that.
