Organize your list
You can reorder games or remove items from the Wishlist. Steam has also documented sorting and filtering by discount, price tier, tags, Early Access status, and release availability. Valve’s filtering announcement dates to 2018, so exact controls may differ in the current interface.
A July 2026 Valve announcement describes custom categories, improved search, demo availability indicators and alerts, and share links for categories or filtered views. These features may vary by client or region. If categories are available to you, you could create your own groups—for example, “Waiting for a sale” or “Birthday ideas”; those are examples, not preset category names.

Enable Steam sale notifications
Steam says it can notify you by email or through its mobile app when a game on your Wishlist is on sale. To adjust these alerts, review Steam’s notification and account settings. You can opt out of email alerts or turn off mobile notifications.
Steam’s notification page gives Daily Deal, Midweek Deal, and Weekend Deal as examples. Do not treat those as an exhaustive list or assume a notice will arrive instantly for every price change.

Choose whether you need price history or broader store comparisons
Steam’s built-in Wishlist is convenient for saving games and receiving sale notices. A third-party tracker can add price history, a watchlist, or offers from other stores. Compare the services on region and currency support, store coverage, historical price context, and how their alert rules work.
| Option | Useful for | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Steam Wishlist notifications | Keeping the process inside Steam and receiving basic sale notices | Email and mobile controls, how many alerts you want, and whether Steam-only offers meet your needs |
| SteamDB | Viewing a game’s Steam price history and keeping a watchlist | Its history display, account and watchlist setup, and manual Wishlist import |
| IsThereAnyDeal | Comparing offers across stores and managing a Waitlist | Current store and regional coverage, import steps, and notification rules |
Use SteamDB for Steam price history
Look up a game on SteamDB to view its price history. SteamDB also offers watchlists: create an account, add games, or manually import your Steam Wishlist. Check the service’s current settings to see how its watchlist notifications work.

Use IsThereAnyDeal to compare store offers
IsThereAnyDeal lets users import a Steam Wishlist into its Waitlist and customize notification rules. Because it is an external service, review its current store list, regional and currency support, and alert settings before relying on it. Its coverage can change; do not assume it lists every retailer.
Check privacy before sharing your Wishlist
Your Wishlist visibility follows your Steam Community Profile privacy settings. Valve’s 2026 announcement also describes share links for a category or filtered view. Before sharing, check what the link makes visible and, where the feature is available, revoke it if you no longer want others to access it.
