You can stream Telugu bhajans continuously on YouTube with OBS by preparing an authorized audio-and-visual scene, connecting OBS to a YouTube Live event, and monitoring the stream. The setup does not guarantee uninterrupted operation: YouTube can interrupt live streams over copyright matches, and a stream longer than 12 hours may not be archived. For a continuous channel, plan how to recover from outages and preserve recordings as well as how to start the stream.
Before you start: check channel access and music rights
Confirm YouTube lets your channel go live
Your channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Live streaming with an encoder such as OBS is supported. Check access in YouTube Studio before preparing a broadcast; YouTube’s live streaming requirements explain eligibility.
Clear the exact recordings you plan to play
A song’s devotional or traditional subject does not establish that a particular recording or arrangement is free to rebroadcast. Confirm that you have permission for both the underlying musical work and the sound recording, including live streaming, territories, monetization, and any archived video. YouTube scans live audio and video for third-party matches. A detected match can replace the stream with a placeholder, interrupt it, or terminate it. If you have a license, ask the rights owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist; a license by itself does not ensure uninterrupted playback. YouTube for Artists also advises creators using protected music to coordinate with their label or distributor. See YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams and YouTube for Artists.
Prepare the OBS scene and YouTube event
Choose your audio and picture
For a playlist of prepared bhajans, use local media files you are authorized to stream. In OBS, create a scene with a visual you have permission to use—such as devotional artwork—and add the audio source for your files. Check that the audio is audible and the picture is not blank. A microphone or audio interface is optional for live singing or instruments; a camera or capture card is only needed if you want a live camera or another video source.

Create or schedule the event
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room.
- Create or schedule an encoder stream. Choose the title, visibility, and audience settings that fit your channel and broadcast.
- In OBS, open Settings > Stream. Select YouTube or YouTube RTMPS if available. Otherwise, copy the server URL and stream key shown in Live Control Room into OBS.
- Keep the stream key private. Anyone with access to it may be able to broadcast to your event; do not show it in a scene, screenshot, or public chat.
YouTube recommends RTMPS, a secure extension of RTMP. Its encoder settings guidance covers the URL-and-key workflow and supported encoders.
Set OBS output for a stable stream
Use a resolution, frame rate, and bitrate your computer and sustained upload connection can maintain. For H.264 at 30 fps, YouTube’s encoder guidance lists these bitrate examples:

| Video setting | Minimum bitrate | Recommended bitrate |
|---|---|---|
| 720p, 30 fps, H.264 | 3 Mbps | 8 Mbps |
| 1080p, 30 fps, H.264 | 5 Mbps | 14 Mbps |
These are YouTube ingestion specifications, not a guarantee of what viewers will see or of a stable connection. A lower resolution can be a sensible choice if your upload speed or computer cannot sustain 1080p. YouTube recommends leaving 20% spare upload capacity, so do not set a bitrate that consumes your connection’s full measured upload bandwidth.

Start the broadcast and verify it
- Start streaming in OBS.
- Wait for the incoming signal and preview to appear in Live Control Room. Check the picture, audio, and stream health indicators before sending viewers to the event.
- For a scheduled workflow, use the Control Room’s Go live control to start the YouTube event after checking the preview.
- Monitor OBS and Live Control Room while the stream runs. If you use a local recording, confirm that it is actually being saved and that the destination has enough free space.
YouTube recommends testing the encoder setup before a broadcast. A private or unlisted test can help you confirm the scene, sound, and connection without presenting it as the public devotional stream.
Plan for the limits of a 24/7 broadcast
One OBS session is not a guarantee of 24/7 uptime
A continuous stream depends on the computer, OBS, power, internet connection, and YouTube ingest all remaining available. An outage or a rights match can interrupt it. The reviewed YouTube and OBS guidance does not establish a guaranteed uninterrupted setup or a universally recommended restart cadence. Monitor the broadcast and decide in advance who will respond if OBS disconnects or YouTube ends the event.

Protect the archive
YouTube automatically archives streams shorter than 12 hours. A stream lasting longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. If you need a complete recording, do not rely on one uninterrupted 24-hour YouTube session: consider periodic stream sessions and/or a local recording, and verify that each recording is usable. Restart timing is a continuity-versus-archive decision, not a YouTube-prescribed interval. See YouTube’s live stream archive guidance.
Troubleshoot common problems
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check or do |
|---|---|---|
| You cannot start a live stream | The channel is not verified, has a recent live-stream restriction, or has not completed live-stream enablement. | Check channel eligibility and live-stream status in YouTube Studio before troubleshooting OBS. |
| Live Control Room does not receive a signal | OBS is not streaming, or the selected service, server URL, or stream key does not match the event. | Confirm OBS is actively streaming and recheck the event’s URL and key. Keep the key private. |
| Video or audio is missing in the preview | The wrong OBS scene or source is active, or the source is muted or unavailable. | Inspect the active scene, media source playback, audio mixer meters, and mute controls; verify both again in the Control Room preview. |
| The stream buffers or drops frames | The configured bitrate may be too high for sustained upload bandwidth, or the connection or encoding computer may be under strain. | Check stream health and OBS statistics. Test upload capacity, leave the recommended 20% bandwidth headroom, and reduce resolution or bitrate if needed. |
| YouTube interrupts or terminates the stream | A third-party audio or video match may have been detected, even when the creator believes the use is licensed. | Review YouTube’s notice and resolve the rights issue with the relevant owner. If licensed, ask the owner about Content ID allowlisting. |
| A long session has no complete YouTube archive | Streams over 12 hours may not be captured. | Use shorter sessions and/or make a local recording when a complete archive matters. |
Cost and equipment considerations
OBS is the encoder in this do-it-yourself workflow, so the computer that runs it must remain available for the duration of the broadcast. No specific computer model or continuous-duty hardware configuration is established here; choose equipment only after checking that it can encode your selected output and stay online in your circumstances. A microphone, camera, capture card, UPS, or external storage is not a universal requirement—each addresses a particular live-performance or resilience need.
