To run a 24/7 Indian flute stream on YouTube, create an eligible live-streaming channel, clear the rights to every recording, then send YouTube a continuous audio-video feed through an encoder such as OBS on a computer or FFmpeg on a hosted VPS. Test the complete stream as unlisted before making it public. YouTube does not guarantee uninterrupted 24/7 playback; the encoder, audio source, network, and music rights all need attention.
1. Make sure the channel can go live
YouTube requires a verified channel with live streaming enabled and no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. Check the channel’s eligibility and status in YouTube Studio rather than assuming it is ready. First-time activation can take time: YouTube for Artists advises enabling live streaming at least 24 hours before the planned broadcast. YouTube’s live-streaming Help page and YouTube for Artists describe the platform requirements and music-channel guidance.
2. Clear the rights to your flute recordings
Use your own recordings or obtain explicit permission for the intended YouTube live use, territories, and duration. Rights depend on the specific recordings, compositions, owners, and locations; the platform’s setup instructions cannot determine whether a particular license covers your stream.

YouTube scans live broadcasts for third-party material and may interrupt or terminate a stream. Its Help page says, “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” If the recordings are protected, coordinate with the label or distributor and ask whether your channel needs to be added to the relevant Content ID allowlist. YouTube for Artists specifically recommends that coordination to avoid issues such as copyright strikes. Crediting an artist, buying a track, or holding a general music license does not by itself establish permission for a continuous live broadcast. 3. Choose where the stream will run
The two practical setups are a local computer running a graphical encoder or a hosted VPS running a command-line process. Neither architecture comes with a reliability guarantee; choose based on how you want to operate and monitor it. A hosted VPS means you do not need to keep a dedicated local computer running the encoder.

4. Build a continuous audio-video feed
Prepare the Indian flute program as a playlist or continuous audio source, then pair it with a visual you own or are licensed to use: for example, a still image or a looping visual. YouTube receives a live audio-video feed from the encoder; the still-image or loop is a practical way to supply video alongside the music, not a special YouTube requirement. You can add channel identity or useful now-playing information if it is accurate and rights-cleared.
- Check that the playlist advances and that its source will not stop unexpectedly.
- Listen for silence, clipping, abrupt level changes, or unwanted gaps.
- Confirm that both audio and video appear in the encoder preview before sending the feed.
- Use only visual assets you own or have permission to use.
5. Create the YouTube live event and connect the encoder
- In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create or schedule a live stream.
- Choose the encoder workflow and review the event’s visibility and stream details.
- Copy the stream details YouTube provides into OBS or your FFmpeg configuration. Interface labels can change, so follow the current prompts in Studio.
- Keep the stream key private. Anyone with access to it may be able to send a feed to your event; do not publish it in a playlist, screenshot, or public configuration.
- Start the encoder and confirm that the incoming feed appears in the Live Control Room before going public.

6. Test before launching publicly
Run the complete setup as an unlisted stream first, as YouTube for Artists recommends. Check the video, sound, encoder connection, and playback source together—not merely the playlist on its own.
- Open the unlisted stream on another device and verify that picture and sound arrive cleanly.
- Check the Live Control Room for connection or copyright warnings and resolve them before launch.
- Leave the source running long enough to confirm that it advances as expected and does not stop at the end of a file or playlist.
- Confirm that the intended operator can see the stream and respond if the encoder, source, network, or rights status fails.
A successful test shows that the setup worked during the test; it does not prove that a continuous broadcast will never be interrupted.

7. Plan for failures and ongoing oversight
A 24/7 stream is an encoder sending a live feed continuously, not a YouTube uptime service. Arrange an operator or alert path for the main failure cases, and configure restart behavior appropriate to your setup. An automatic restart can help recover a stopped process, but it cannot resolve a rights claim, restore a failed source, or guarantee that YouTube will accept the feed.
- Encoder or process stops: Check the computer or VPS, encoder logs, and restart configuration, then confirm that the feed returns in Live Control Room.
- Music goes silent or stops advancing: Check the playlist order, source availability, and whether playback stops at the end of a file or queue.
- Connection drops: Check the local internet connection or VPS connectivity and confirm that the encoder reconnects successfully.
- YouTube shows a copyright warning or interrupts the stream: Review the specific notice and contact the relevant rights holder or distributor about the recording and Content ID allowlisting. Do not assume restarting the encoder clears a rights issue.
- Video appears but audio does not: Check that the encoder is receiving the intended audio source and that it is not muted or routed elsewhere.
