To keep a YouTube bhajan livestream running without leaving a computer on at home, use a cloud-hosted service that loops prerecorded videos and sends them to YouTube. Prepare rights-cleared media, enable livestreaming on your channel, connect the service with your YouTube stream key, then preview and test the broadcast before sharing it.
Before you start: check channel eligibility and prepare your bhajan media
Enable livestreaming ahead of launch
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. First-time livestream activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before your planned start date. See YouTube’s livestream eligibility guidance.
Use media you have permission to broadcast
A devotional subject or a bhajan’s age does not by itself establish that you have permission to use a particular recording, composition, performance, or image. Use material that you own or have permission to broadcast and replay. Livestreams must comply with YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms; the rights status of a particular work must be checked separately. YouTube explains its policies in its live-streaming help.

When comparing services, check whether they accept and loop prerecorded files, how scheduling works, the maximum continuous duration, how monitoring and recovery work, how the service connects to YouTube, and what it currently costs. YouTube’s encoder guide lists Gyre as a cloud service for 24/7 prerecorded YouTube streams and describes it as not requiring a dedicated PC. It also lists Upstream as a browser-based cloud studio for 24/7 live video. Those directory descriptions are not independent reliability tests.
OneStream Live’s documentation says its 24/7 feature requires an Enterprise plan and has a maximum duration of 30 days. That is a provider-specific limit, not a YouTube-wide rule; check the current plan and duration before relying on it. YouTube also lists OBS, which is free and open-source, but running OBS on a home PC would not meet the no-PC goal unless you host it elsewhere. AWS Elemental MediaLive and AJA HELO Plus are other entries in YouTube’s encoder directory; the available information does not establish them as the simplest or least expensive options for an individual channel.

Set up the YouTube stream and connect the cloud service
- Open YouTube Studio. Go to Create > Go live and create a stream or select an existing one. For an encoder workflow, YouTube provides a server URL and stream key for the encoder. Follow the cloud provider’s instructions to connect or authorize the channel and enter the required stream details.
- Protect the stream key. Treat it like a password: do not post it publicly or share it with anyone who should not be able to broadcast to your channel. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio and update the cloud service with the new key.
- Add your devotional videos. Upload or select the rights-cleared bhajan videos in the cloud service. Set the playlist or loop, stream title and description, and schedule or start time using that provider’s controls.
- Preview before announcing the stream. Start a test or scheduled preview and check it in YouTube’s Live Control Room. Confirm that the correct video and audio play, the stream is connected, and YouTube reports healthy stream status before sharing the link.
- Plan how you will monitor it. Check what alerts, status reporting, and restart or recovery controls the provider offers. Do not assume that any service guarantees uninterrupted operation; know how you will respond if YouTube disconnects or the feed stops.
Plan for archives and special broadcasts
Do not count on a complete 24-hour archive
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That guidance does not promise a complete archive of one uninterrupted 24/7 event. If viewers need a replay, plan separate recordings or shorter scheduled events and verify the resulting archive in YouTube Studio.
Keep special events separate when needed
A basic bhajan loop does not require API work. For a more advanced setup, Google’s Live Streaming API documentation describes using the same stream resource for two broadcasts, such as maintaining a 24/7 feed while creating a separate broadcast for an interview. Troubleshooting common setup problems
- You cannot start a livestream: Confirm that the channel is verified and has no livestream restrictions within the preceding 90 days. If this is the first activation, allow up to 24 hours.
- YouTube does not receive the cloud feed: Check that the service has the correct server URL and current stream key, and that the selected YouTube stream is live or scheduled as intended. Keep the key private; reset it if you suspect it was exposed.
- The preview has no sound or the wrong video: Check the selected playlist, each file’s audio and video, and the service’s preview before promoting the stream. Confirm the correct stream details are attached to the broadcast.
- The feed stops or disconnects: Check the service status and YouTube Live Control Room stream health, then use the provider’s documented recovery steps. Ask the provider what monitoring and recovery controls are available rather than assuming a specific uptime guarantee.
- A video is blocked or receives a rights claim: Review the rights for the actual recording, composition, performance, and visuals. Replace material you are not authorized to broadcast; devotional content is not automatically cleared for streaming.
- You need a replay of the full event: An uninterrupted 24/7 broadcast is not covered by YouTube’s under-12-hour automatic archive guidance. Use shorter events or keep a separate recording if a complete replay matters.
