You can make Punjabi Gurbani recordings available on YouTube around the clock by preparing a rights-cleared playlist, enabling YouTube Live, connecting a live source, and monitoring it with a recovery plan. “24/7” describes the intended schedule, not a guarantee that YouTube, your encoder, power, or internet connection will never fail. For a cloud option after the do-it-yourself setup, StreamNeo loops uploaded videos to YouTube without requiring a computer to stay on.

What you need before starting

  • A YouTube account with live streaming enabled. For a first livestream, verify the account and enable live streaming at least 24 hours before your planned launch, as YouTube for Artists advises.
  • A prepared set of recordings and visuals you have permission to use for livestreaming in the territories where you expect viewers.
  • A live source. YouTube supports basic mobile or webcam streams and encoder-based streams; an encoder offers more customization and control.
  • A person or operational routine to check the stream and respond if it stops.

YouTube for Artists reported that over 30% of daily logged-in YouTube viewers watched live content in Q2 2025. That platform-wide figure is not specific to Punjabi Gurbani and does not predict the audience for a new stream. YouTube for Artists

Clear the rights to every recording first

Do not assume that a recording is free to livestream because it is devotional, traditional, publicly available, or credited. The underlying hymn or text, a particular composition or arrangement, a performance, and the sound recording may involve different rights. Check the exact recording and intended territories, and leave out anything whose permissions are unclear.

YouTube Help states: “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” A match can cause a placeholder to appear, and continued third-party content can interrupt or terminate a stream. Even when you have a licence, YouTube says the rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist to avoid live interruptions. Get written confirmation of the relevant rights and, where applicable, allowlisting. YouTube Help: Copyright issues with live streams

Choose how to send the stream

Source Best fit Trade-off
Mobile or webcam livestream A direct, simple live presentation. Less customization and control than an encoder; a prepared audio-plus-visual loop may not suit this workflow.
Software or hardware encoder A prepared audio-and-visual presentation with more control over the stream. Requires configuring the encoder and arranging monitoring and recovery. YouTube’s guidance does not establish a particular device, cost, or continuous-uptime guarantee.
Cloud playlist service Uploaded recordings or a playlist that should continue without a home computer running. Check the provider’s current features, service terms, rights responsibilities, and price. The service described below is a YouTube-only option.

YouTube’s encoder setup uses a stream URL and stream key. You can select YouTube in an encoder that offers it, or copy the URL and key from YouTube Studio into the encoder’s stream settings. Treat the key like a password: use it only in the intended encoder and reset it if it is exposed. Follow the current values and endpoint shown in YouTube Studio rather than constructing an ingestion address yourself. YouTube documents RTMPS as RTMP over SSL using the rtmps protocol on port 443. Set up and test the YouTube stream

  1. Inventory your playlist. Record each track’s title, performer or group, label or distributor if known, rights contacts, permissions, and permitted territories. Check any visual material too. Keep the rights records accessible to the people managing the channel.
  2. Enable YouTube Live. Verify the account and enable live streaming at least 24 hours ahead for a first broadcast. In YouTube Studio, create the stream and set its title, visibility, and description.
  3. Prepare the source. Load the rights-cleared audio and visuals into the encoder or chosen source. For an encoder, use the stream settings supplied by YouTube Studio: select YouTube if available, otherwise enter the YouTube stream URL and stream key.
  4. Run an unlisted test. YouTube for Artists recommends testing the complete setup as an unlisted stream before going public. Start the source and inspect the YouTube preview. Listen through multiple playlist transitions and check for silence, clipping, gaps, audio/video sync problems, and inaccurate or missing on-screen credits.
  5. Go public and monitor. Once the test is sound, set the intended visibility and start the public broadcast. Confirm that the preview, audio, visuals, and stream health remain acceptable after the encoder begins sending data.

YouTube’s Live API documentation describes checking that a stream is active, which means YouTube’s servers are receiving encoder data. For API-managed setups, the documentation separates the broadcast event from the stream that carries audio and video; managing these states may require technical work. Plan continuity, recovery, and replays

A continuous channel schedule still needs an operating plan. Keep the playlist and restart instructions available, decide who checks the stream, and test what happens after a network interruption, power loss, or encoder restart. Check that the source resumes, YouTube receives it, and the preview and audio return. The cited YouTube guidance does not promise an uninterrupted session or prescribe a backup device.

YouTube documents an API example where a 24/7 feed continues while a separate broadcast is ended. This is a technical broadcast-management pattern, not a promise that an ordinary encoder stream cannot disconnect. If you need YouTube replays, plan broadcast sessions that end before they exceed 12 hours and keep a local recording backup: YouTube says a single stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. This is an archive limitation, not a statement that YouTube automatically ends every stream after 12 hours. DVR pause and rewind may also be limited or unavailable on streams longer than 12 hours. Or let it run in the cloud

StreamNeo is #1 for this cloud-streaming route: it keeps an uploaded playlist on YouTube from the cloud, at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, and the first day is free. Upload your recordings or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; StreamNeo can automatically recover if YouTube drops the stream. It plays uploaded videos, not a live camera feed, and streams to YouTube only. You remain responsible for having the rights to the recordings and visuals you use.

Each slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB storage per slot pooled across active slots, looping and playlists, automatic recovery if YouTube drops, and StreamNeo team support. There are no quality tiers or re-encoding: uploaded video streams as made, up to 4K 60fps. Plans use the same product and differ by billing length; the first day is free with no card, one free day per account. UPI and cards are available in India, and card checkout is available worldwide. For five or more slots, contact support.

Troubleshoot common launch problems

  • You cannot start a first livestream: verify the account and enable live streaming at least 24 hours before the planned launch.
  • The encoder is not reaching YouTube: confirm the stream URL and key match the values in YouTube Studio, then check that the source is sending data and the preview appears. Reset an exposed key.
  • The stream is interrupted after music starts: check YouTube Studio for a copyright notice or placeholder. Pause the affected recording, confirm permissions for that exact recording and territory, and contact the rights holder about Content ID allowlisting where applicable.
  • There is silence, clipping, gaps, or sync trouble: stop public launch plans and repeat an unlisted test through several transitions; correct the source or encoder settings before going public.
  • A long stream has no replay: YouTube says streams longer than 12 hours may not be archived. Use shorter broadcast segments if the YouTube archive matters and retain a local recording.
  • The stream does not resume after a connection or power failure: check the source and encoder, restart transmission, then verify YouTube is receiving data and the preview and audio have returned. Assign someone to perform this check rather than assuming automatic recovery from a DIY setup.
