You can run a 24/7 bhajan channel on YouTube by sending a continuous encoder-based livestream from a computer, or by using a cloud service that loops uploaded recordings. Before going live, clear the music and artwork rights, configure a YouTube encoder stream, test the full playback chain, and plan for interruptions and archives: YouTube says streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all.
Plan the channel before you start streaming
A radio-style channel is a continuous YouTube livestream built from recordings, playlists, visuals and, if you choose, host commentary. Decide what viewers will hear and see, who owns each item, whether you need a replay, and how you will restart the broadcast if it stops.

- Choose the program: use original performances, commissioned recordings, or other recordings for which you have permission covering YouTube livestream use.
- Prepare the visuals: clear rights for background images, album art, lyrics, animations and any other third-party material used in the stream.
- Decide on replay needs: a continuous stream and a complete archive are separate goals. YouTube says streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all.
- Make a realistic monetization plan: having music permission does not by itself guarantee that YouTube will approve a channel for monetization.
Clear rights for every bhajan and visual
Do not assume a bhajan is free to rebroadcast because it is devotional, traditional, available online, or already used by other channels. A recording can contain separate rights in the composition and in a particular performance or sound recording. YouTube’s livestream terms make the provider responsible for having the necessary rights, including music rights.
What to confirm with the rights holder
- Written permission covers live streaming on YouTube, not only personal listening or upload as an ordinary video.
- The permission covers your intended territories and the period you plan to stream and keep any archive available.
- The license allows the kind of stream you intend to run, including monetization if you plan to enable it.
- If the rights holder uses Content ID, ask whether your channel must be added to an allowlist before you broadcast.
- You also have permission for lyrics, artwork, photographs and other third-party material shown in the program.
Keep copies of licenses and written confirmations where the channel operator can retrieve them. This is practical recordkeeping, not jurisdiction-specific legal advice. A license and Content ID allowlisting are not necessarily the same thing: YouTube may still identify a licensed track unless the rights holder has taken the steps needed to prevent a claim or interruption.

Check YouTube livestream eligibility
YouTube Help’s “Get started with live streaming” guidance says a channel must be verified and must have had no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. You must also meet YouTube’s applicable age requirements. Confirm your channel’s eligibility before preparing a long broadcast; a scheduled event does not override a restriction.
Set up the DIY encoder stream
This method keeps the playlist and encoder running on your own computer and sends the stream to YouTube. The computer, encoder and internet connection must remain available for the broadcast to continue.

- Prepare and test the program files. Put the rights-cleared recordings in the intended order, check transitions and volume, and prepare a visual loop. Test that the playlist actually returns to its beginning when it reaches the end.
- Create an encoder stream in YouTube Studio. Create or schedule a stream for an encoder, then set its title, description and visibility. Use a private or otherwise controlled short test first if you need to verify the setup without announcing the public broadcast.
- Copy the stream URL and key into the encoder. Use the values for that YouTube stream. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it, put it in a public screenshot, or share it with anyone who should not be able to broadcast to your channel.
- Set the encoder output for your actual production. Choose a resolution and bitrate that your source material, encoder and sustained internet upload can support. The official guidance reviewed for this setup does not establish one universal bitrate, resolution, frame rate or keyframe interval for every bhajan channel. Do not copy a value blindly; consult the current encoder guidance and stream-health feedback for your chosen output.
- Configure the stream controls. Set auto-start, auto-stop and DVR according to how the encoder and program will be operated. Keep a secure record of the settings needed to restart the stream, but never expose the stream key.
- Run an end-to-end test. Check the sound level, the visual loop, playlist transitions, internet stability, encoder output, local recording and the restart process. A short test can reveal practical problems before a long session, but it does not guarantee a future stream will avoid network or copyright interruptions.
- Start the program and watch the live dashboard. Check stream health and watch for copyright warnings or other action requests. YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content; an identified match can lead to a warning, a placeholder image, interruption or termination.
What to do about bitrate, resolution and keyframes
There is no single setting that is right for every encoder setup. Pick the output based on the video you have, the quality you want, the encoder’s capabilities and a stable upload connection. Check current YouTube encoder guidance for the supported settings applicable to that output, then verify the result in the live dashboard. If the stream buffers or drops, reduce the output demand or address the connection before assuming that changing the music playlist will fix it.
Choose a continuity and archive plan
A single 24-hour broadcast is not a safe assumption for preserving a complete replay. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, while streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all; it recommends keeping a local recording as a backup. If a full replay matters, plan for local storage and test that recording separately from the live output.

| Approach | Archive implications | Operational trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| One continuous stream over 12 hours | YouTube says it may not be captured at all. Use a local recording if preserving the program matters. | Fewer planned restarts, but a long uninterrupted session depends on the encoder, computer and connection staying available. |
| Shorter scheduled sessions under 12 hours | Eligible for YouTube’s automatic archiving, though you should still keep a local backup if the replay is important. | More scheduled restarts to manage; each session gives you a separate point to check the program and stream health. |
Whichever format you choose, keep a restart checklist: confirm the playlist position, encoder output, stream key, local recording and YouTube event before resuming. If viewers need uninterrupted listening, explain planned session changes in the channel description or stream schedule.
Understand copyright interruptions and monetization review
YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted material. A match may trigger a warning, replace the live picture with a placeholder, interrupt the stream or end it. If this happens, check the live dashboard and address the identified material; restarting the same unaltered program may not solve the underlying rights issue.

Copyright and monetization review are separate. YouTube applies originality and reused-content policies to live streams, so a collection of other people’s songs or minimally transformed, repetitive material may fail monetization review even if you have permission to use it. Consider making your channel’s original contribution clear through original performances, commissioned recordings with clear rights, host commentary, devotional context or distinctive curation. A static image over a repeating playlist should not be treated as a guarantee of monetization eligibility.

Troubleshoot common problems
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check or do |
|---|---|---|
| You cannot start a livestream | The channel may not be verified or may have a live-streaming restriction within YouTube’s 90-day eligibility window. | Check the channel’s verification and live-streaming status in YouTube Studio before changing encoder settings. |
| The stream shows a warning, placeholder or stops during a song | YouTube may have matched third-party material, or the rights holder may not have allowlisted the channel. | Check the live dashboard for the identified material. Confirm the license covers livestream use and ask the rights holder about Content ID allowlisting before using the track again. |
| The stream buffers or disconnects | The sustained upload connection or encoder output may not be stable enough for the chosen settings. | Check stream health and connection stability. Test a lower output demand and confirm the encoder can maintain it before restarting a long session. |
| The playlist stops or fails to loop | The player or encoder may not be configured to repeat the program, or a file may have failed. | Test the complete playlist cycle before going live, check the affected file, and verify the loop behavior after the final item. |
| A long livestream is missing from the channel | YouTube may not capture streams that exceed 12 hours. | Use shorter sessions when an automatic archive is important, and maintain a local recording for a complete replay. |
| The channel has music permission but monetization is denied | Permission to use music does not establish that the channel meets originality and reused-content requirements. | Review YouTube’s monetization policy separately and make the channel’s original contribution apparent; do not treat a license as a monetization guarantee. |
Or let it run in the cloud

It is for uploaded videos and playlists, not going live from a camera, and it streams to YouTube.
- Upload a recording or build a playlist.
- Add your YouTube stream key once.
- Go live; StreamNeo loops the program from its cloud service.
- Your computer and home connection do not have to stay on for the stream to continue.
- Uploaded quality is streamed as made, up to 4K 60fps, with no quality tiers.
- StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream.
- The first day is free with no card. Each slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB storage per slot pooled across active slots, playlists and looping, automatic recovery and StreamNeo team support. The same product is included on each plan; only billing length changes.
- Monthly billing is $9.99 per month. Day, week, six-month and yearly billing are also available, and you can cancel any time. UPI and cards are accepted in India; card checkout is available worldwide. Contact support about five or more slots.
See StreamNeo for the service details. If cloud looping fits your rights-cleared program, start the free first day.
Estimate the DIY operating cost
A DIY stream needs a computer capable of running your chosen encoder and playlist, a sufficiently stable internet connection, and enough local storage if you are recording the program. The available YouTube guidance does not establish a minimum computer specification or a tested model for this setup, so the right hardware depends on your intended output and production. Electricity, network service and backup storage costs also depend on your location and equipment; compare those recurring costs with any cloud service before choosing.
