To run Bengali bhajans continuously on YouTube, first enable live streaming for an eligible channel, clear the rights to every recording and composition, then send a prepared playlist through an encoder to YouTube’s Live Control Room. A 24/7 stream is an operating plan—not a guarantee that YouTube will keep one session running indefinitely—so arrange monitoring and recovery before launch.
What you need before you start
- A YouTube channel eligible to livestream. YouTube’s current guidance says the channel must be verified, have no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days, and the person livestreaming must be at least 16. First-time live-stream enablement can take up to 24 hours, so do it well before your planned launch. Check YouTube’s current streaming guidance for account-specific eligibility and changes.
- An encoder: software running on a computer or a standalone hardware device. YouTube does not require a particular brand; its encoder setup guide describes both options.
- A prepared audio/video source, a stable internet connection, and someone responsible for checking the stream and restoring it if it fails.
- Permission for both the specific sound recordings and the underlying compositions in your playlist, including the intended livestream and replay/archive use.
YouTube supports webcam, mobile, encoder, and console streaming routes. For a preassembled playlist with continuous visuals and audio, an encoder is the practical route because it can send the prepared feed.
Clear rights for every bhajan recording
A devotional, old, or traditional song is not automatically free to stream. A particular recording may have rights separate from the underlying composition. Confirm that your permission covers livestreaming and any replay or archive, and ask the relevant rights holder to allowlist your channel through Content ID when licensed material is likely to be matched.

If a match is detected, YouTube may replace the stream with a placeholder image; if the matched material continues, the stream may be temporarily interrupted or terminated. Copyright or Community Guidelines strikes can also end a stream. An archive may receive Content ID claims after the broadcast ends. Do not rely on an unlisted or private setting to avoid matching: YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams does not describe such an exception.

Create the YouTube stream and connect an encoder
- In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live to open Live Control Room. To promote the stream in advance, create or schedule it from the Manage tab. See YouTube’s encoder setup steps for the current interface.
- Open the stream settings and copy the YouTube stream URL/server and stream key into the matching fields in your encoder. Treat the key as a secret: anyone with it may be able to connect an encoder to your stream. Do not put it in the description or show it on screen.
- Choose the rights-cleared bhajan playlist as the encoder’s audio/video source and add the visuals you intend viewers to see, such as approved artwork or a simple visual loop. YouTube’s connection guide explains how to connect an encoder; playlist and artwork choices are your production setup.
- Start sending from the encoder and wait for the preview in Live Control Room. Check that the audio is audible and clean, the picture is correct, and the public watch page plays on a phone as well as your own computer. YouTube recommends checking the preview before going live.
- For a scheduled stream, confirm the preview and use Live Control Room to go live at the right time. When you intentionally end the broadcast, end it in Studio and stop sending content from the encoder.
Choose a production setup you can maintain
Software encoder on a computer
This is a sensible lower-cost choice if you already have a suitable computer and can keep both it and its internet connection available. YouTube says expensive equipment is not necessary to begin. OBS is one software option; its help portal links to x264 encoding guidance. Exact resolution, bitrate, keyframe interval, and machine requirements depend on the encoder, source, and current YouTube ingest guidance; no one setting can be responsibly prescribed for every Bengali bhajan setup without testing it on your equipment and connection.
Dedicated hardware encoder
A standalone hardware encoder can be appropriate when the operator wants a dedicated appliance or a higher-production workflow. YouTube lists hardware options and recommends professional-grade hardware for higher-production events, but hardware is optional. A playlist with static or simple visuals may not need professional equipment, and YouTube also supports software encoders.

Plan for continuous operation, not just launch
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That does not establish that a single uninterrupted 24-hour session will be archived as one replay, nor does it guarantee an indefinite session. Decide how your operation will handle session limits, interruptions, and any planned restart rather than assuming one broadcast will run forever.

YouTube’s live-streaming tips recommend configuring encoders in advance, starting them ahead of an event, checking the preview, testing failover, checking local archive files when applicable, verifying watch-page and mobile access, and monitoring audio and video quality. Adapt those checks into a shift routine for a continuous devotional stream.

Use a handover checklist
- Confirm the playlist is advancing and the intended Bengali bhajan audio is playing at a consistent, audible level.
- Check the encoder status, YouTube preview or stream health, and playback on the public watch page.
- Review computer, encoder, and network alerts; confirm the responsible operator knows how to restore the feed.
- Test your recovery plan in advance. YouTube suggests testing failover by stopping the primary encoder or disconnecting its Ethernet cable; arrange a controlled test that will not disrupt an important public broadcast.
- If your workflow records local archives, verify that files are being written as expected.
Troubleshooting common problems
You cannot start a live stream
Check that the channel is verified, meets current live-streaming eligibility, and has no applicable restriction. If this is the first time live streaming has been enabled, allow up to 24 hours for activation before the launch.
Live Control Room does not show an encoder preview
Confirm that the encoder is sending to the correct YouTube stream URL and that you copied the matching stream key without exposing or mistyping it. Make sure the encoder is actually sending and that the selected audio/video sources are active, then check the preview again.

The stream has a placeholder image or gets interrupted
This can happen when YouTube detects matched third-party content. Stop the potentially matched material and resolve rights with the relevant owner; for licensed tracks, ask whether the channel must be allowlisted through Content ID. Do not assume a song’s devotional subject or an unlisted broadcast makes the recording exempt.
The stream stops during the day
Check power, network connectivity, encoder status, and any alerts, then use the designated recovery procedure to reconnect and verify the watch page. A continuous schedule requires an operator or service plan for detection and recovery; it is not a YouTube uptime guarantee.

Viewers report silent or incorrect playback
Check the encoder’s selected audio source, playlist progression, and preview, then listen on the public page from a separate device. This helps distinguish a source or encoder issue from a local monitoring problem.
